Damon spent last weekend in Haiti with singer Wyclef Jean, helping the residents of the small Caribbean island recover from the devastation left behind by the hurricane.
The two stars distributed packages of rice and beans near the town of Cabaret on Saturday (September 13). Because the trucks being used to deliver the food were stuck in ditches, most of the humanitarian efforts were organised near the roads.
Damon seemed to enjoy putting aside his celebrity status and work with the people of Haiti. "It’s nice, it’s really easy to move through a crowd like this," said the star.
With his help, the Bourne Identity star hopes to attract the attention of the United Nations. Damon added, "Hopefully we can make enough noise that people will pay attention. I truly believe in the people in my country."
