Stephenie Meyer Denies Accusations

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is denying the accusation that she copied her book from an unknown author.

The Twilight author is accused of plagiarism again. According to TMZ.com, a woman named Jordon Scott sent a formal document to Stephenie Meyer’s publishers.

Scott claims that Meyer’s book, Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in the Twilight series released in 2008, has striking similarities to her fantasy novel, The Nocturne, released in 2006. She accuses Meyer of recreating scenes from her novel and using almost identical dialogue.

Meyer’s reps deny all allegations. They told TMZ.com, "The claim that Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim."

In April, Meyer’s former college roommate, Heidi Stanton, claimed that the vampire books were based on a short story she had written when the two women were studying at Brigham Young University in Utah.
