Steven Tyler confirms he’s still with the band

Flamboyant frontman says he can juggle both television show and album.

For the past year, the ongoing battles of Aerosmith’s flamboyant frontman Steven Tyler, 62, and the rest of the band has filled more than a few pages on the web.

The band was upset about Tyler’s decision to take on an American Idol judging gig, which they felt ruined their plans for another album and tour. The remaining members decided to audition a new singer, but Tyler’s lawyers blocked them and he subsequently rejoined the group, reports Orange News.

Tyler says he can manage both jobs at the same time, “We’re gonna work on it (the album) while I’m doing Idol. Idol’s two days a week. So I’m gonna be living in L.A. at the time. So the band’ll come back and forth and we’ll work on it.”

He adds, “There was some tension (with my bandmates). And in all good marriages… I’m married to four men. I mean, you think women are bad… So it’s a marriage, and there’s a lot of ups and downs, and we went through a period there – a slow period – where everybody was not feeling so good. But you know, I’m a fighter. I’ve got my own ups and downs… But this did nothing but bring the band together and make it stronger. I can only speak for myself. As you see, I’m doing Idol. I can juggle a lot of balls, so it’s all looking good.”

Tyler recently completed a solo project, writing and performing the song, Love Lives, for Japanese sci-fi movie Space Battleship Yamato to be released one week before the movie on November 24.
