Steven Tyler Hires a New Manager

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith has changed management once again.

In another surprising move, the Aerosmith frontman has parted ways with the manager that he hired only a year ago.  Now, the singer is being represented by Allen Kovac, who also manages Mötley Crüe.

Last year, Tyler said goodbye to his longtime manager Trudy Green, who also represented the other Aerosmith members.  At that time, he hired John Greenberg and Jason Flom of Union Entertainment Group as his managers.

Aerosmith’s drummer shared his thoughts on Tyler’s unpredictable management choices. "It just kind of splits up the tribe," Joey Kramer told Rolling Stone last month. "Then you have two different camps to go back and forth from and it really confuses things."

According to guitarist Brad Whitford, Tyler wanted to fire his manager for a long time.  "I was always like, ‘Well, stop talking about it if you feel like you need someone else to represent you, do it, get it done,’" Whitford said.  "It was always put in the context of a threat which was not understandable on my part."
