Aerosmith’s lead singer and frontman is considering a career change. Steven Tyler confirmed he has been approached about becoming a judge on American Idol.
He shared the news on the syndicated U.S. radio show Kid Kraddick in the Morning, saying: "They mentioned it and I listened, and we’re on tour, so I gotta give it some time."
There are also rumours that Jennifer Lopez has been asked to take a seat on the judging panel. Other high-profile names being mentioned include Justin Timberlake, Bret Michaels, Chris Isaac and Jessica Simpson.
American Idol has some judge seats to fill. The ascerbic Simon Cowell is leaving and talk show host Ellen deGeneres announced her departure as well. FOX will not confirm whether judges Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson are returning next season.
Steven Tyler and Aerosmith are currently travelling the U.S. on the Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock summer tour. The band is making one stop in Canada on Tuesday, August 17 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
