Steven Tyler Spends Christmas in Rehab

Steven Tyler has checked himself into a rehab program.

After a decade of popping painkillers and anti-inflammatories to ease his suffering, Aerosmith frontman, Steve Tyler, finally decided to get some help.

The legendary singer realized that his recent mood swings and erratic behaviour are typical of substance abuse and more than likely a result of his overuse of medication.

In a press release to People magazine, Tyler reached out to the public, fans and loved ones, explaining, "With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford."

For those questioning his loyalty to the iconic rock band, Tyler clearly added, "I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of."

Tyler recently admitted to wanting a few years off from the band. This didn’t go over too well with the rest of the band who began to look at hiring someone else to fill the lead singer’s spot.
