Stevie Wonder helps young cancer fighter

Stevie Wonder has donated $100,000 to 10-year-old Jasmine Faulk’s cancer fund, just days after Charlie Sheen’s generous donation of $75,000.

Stevie Wonder has donated $100,000 to help a little girl fight cancer.

The soul legend called 10-year-old Jasmine Faulk up on stage and presented her with a giant cheque while he was performing at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last Saturday (15.12.12).

Stevie then serenaded Jasmine – who is battling an aggressive form of pediatric cancer known called Alveoler Rhabdomyosarcoma, which affects muscle tissue – with a heartfelt rendition of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, her favorite Stevie song.

The delighted girl grabbed the microphone and shouted, "I love you Stevie!", before giving him a big hug.

Jasmine’s father, a Hermosa Beach police officer, has been privately employed by Stevie since 1997.

A post on Jasmine’s blog jasminefaulk.com – which was created by her uncle – thanked the 62-year-old musician for his generosity and his amazing gesture.

The online entry read: "She (Jasmine) attended Stevie Wonder’s 17th Annual House Full of Toys Concert that her daddy works as security and not only did she enjoy the show as always, she was a part of it! At one point during the show Stevie Wonder called her up on stage, told her story, and sang her favorite song of his, ‘ISN’T SHE LOVELY’. He then ended by so kindly giving her foundation an incredible donation!!! (sic)"

Last week, ‘Anger Management’ star Charlie Sheen donated $75,000 to Jasmine’s cancer fund last week after learning about her tragic story through his stunt double Eddie Braun, who had donated $25,000 himself.

The father of five was touched by her courage after meeting her police officer dad, telling him: "No parent should have to watch their kid go through that."

Charlie subsequently wrote a generous cheque for the police department’s fund to raise money for Jasmine, who needs over a year of expensive medical treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation.
