Sting announces European tour

Back to Bass tour continues into 2012.

Pop singer Sting has announced plans to take his Back to Bass tour to Europe next February.

The Back to Bass tour celebrates Sting’s 25th anniversary as a solo artist since he left his gig as lead singer of The Police. The tour takes it back to bass…all the hits, stripped down, as they haven’t been played in years.

The artist will present these new versions of his hits, with the help of guitarists Dominic Miller and Rufus Miller, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Tickell electric violinist, and vocalist Jo Lawry.

Of course, Sting has a new album to promote on this tour: Sting: The Best of 25 Years, which traces his solo career hits like If You Love Somebody Set The Free, We’ll Be Together, All This Time, If I Ever Lost my Faith in You, and Fields of Gold.

The tour will begin in Gateshead, UK at The Sage Gateshead on February 5, 2012, and continue across Europe and the U.K. Stops include Amsterdam, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, and Brussels as well as multiple dates in France, Germany and the U.K. Additional dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sting will return to England in mid-March for three more concerts, ending March 19, 2012, in London.
