Sting returns with a symphony orchestra

The ex-Police announces a show at Montreal’s Bell Centre in July.

Sting fans can rejoice. The popular singer will return to Montreal for a concert on July 24. This is one artist who boasts a solo career as exceptional and successful as his time with the famous group, The Police.

This time around, Sting will be accompanied by some additional musicians. He will be backed by the 45-member Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra,  conducted by Steven Mercurio. There will be four more musicians playing guitar, percussion, bass and back-up vocals.

The singer will perform reworked versions of his solo hits and classics from his band The Police like Roxanne, Every Breath You Take, Russians and Fragile to name just a few.

In summer 2009, Sting played on a free outdoor stage on the Plains of Abraham as part of the Festival d’été de Québec.

The Gillett group will put Sting’s Montreal concert tickets on sale on March 15 at noon. Prices range from $56 to $150.50. He is also heading to Toronto on July 17 and Vancouver on June 2.
