Stone Temple Pilots cancel tour dates

Has lead singer Weiland fallen off the wagon?

Stone Temple Pilots lead singer, Scott Weiland, showed up an hour late for a Dallas, Texas concert, and rambled on in a confusing manner to the audience, according to spinner.ca.

Weiland told the crowd, “I believe in music, I believe in rock ‘n’ roll, I believe in friendship and family," he said. "But you know what, on the 8th December will be time (sic) when I stopped doing dope … I started drinking again. I got divorced, my wife … and my whole world basically spun around and so you know what, I’m gonna take care of myself because that’s what I need to take care of … Instead of just having a few shows, I wanna have a whole hell of a lot of shows. "

With his erratic behaviour and cancelled tour dates, rumours are popping up that Weiland is backsliding into his old ways.

The singer attended drug rehab in 2008, and was believed to have recovered enough for the band to make a comeback. But in light of his recent behaviour in Dallas, the future of Stone Temple Pilots may be in doubt.

For now, only 12 shows have been cancelled, and according to their website, the next concert is October 8 at the Saint Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.
