Stones reunion unlikely says Jagger

Former frontman advises fans not to hold their breath.

Former Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has denied rumors that the epic rock group is planning a reunion tour for their 50th anniversary in 2012, reports the Sun.

Earlier this year, guitarist Keith Richards suggested that the band was currently working on a reunion concert to mark the 50th anniversary of their first live concert, which took place in London on July 12, 1962. More recently, the rumor mill reported that the entire band had attended a meeting in London, leading many to speculate a show was in the works, possibly for the 2012 Olympics.

"Don’t hold your breath," Jagger replied, however, when asked about the possibility of a reunion. "A band gets trapped. When a band starts as a blues band, it always remains sort of true to that."

Jagger has instead been focussing his attention on his new all-star group SuperHeavy, which features Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and AR Rahman.
