Strokes new album art revealed

Rock band unveils cover artwork for Angles.

American rock band The Strokes have unveiled the artwork for their upcoming album, Angles, reports Consequence of Sound.

The album is due out March 22 in North America, a day after it hits international shelves. The first official single, Under Cover of Darkness, was released on February 9.

While the band has been somewhat evasive about a potential tour, Albert Hammond Jr, the band’s rhythm guitarist, suggests that a world tour is a real possibility.

“I see us completely making music together. I see us doing a world tour in balance with a new record. We’re going to tour," he told BBC Radio 1.

The Strokes have been working on Angles since 2009. After firing their previous producer, the band took over the recording and production themselves.

Hammond says that the delays have only helped bring the band closer together: "All of that, if anything, gave you perspective on what I find so beautiful about The Strokes. It really is something bigger than one person – a combination of things which couldn’t happen without us."

This will be the band’s first new album since they released First Impressions of Earth in 2006, and the group hopes to reduce time between future recordings.
