Summer is over but concert season continues

James Blunt, The National, and Simple Plan get ready to hit the road this winter.

Several bands are heading out onto the road as the weather turns colder, including English singer-songwriter James Blunt, American indie rockers The National, and Canadian pop-punk rockers Simple Plan.

Blunt begins his North American tour this November with a series of shows in Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario, before heading south of the border in December for shows in Connecticut and New Jersey.

In support of their newest album High Violet, The National kicks off the newest leg of their tour with a November 29 show in Vancouver, British Columbia. They’ll hit various cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up with four shows in their hometown of New York City.

Simple Plan, meanwhile, is gearing up to kick off their 2012 Canadian tour, with an opening show February 11 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The punk rockers will then make their way across the country to wrap up on the 26th in Halifax, Nova Scotia. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to the charitable Simple Plan Foundation.
