When the producers of the musical I Dreamed a Dream had the idea to stage a musical about the life and Susan Boyle’s late start on the music scene, they would never have thought that the subject of the show was willing to appear, reports Female First.
The Scottish singer so loves the way her story is told that she decided to get in on the action. For 11 weeks, lead actress Elaine C. Smith will portray Boyle’s journey from struggling recluse to global stardom in the touring production; however for the show’s finale each night, Boyle will make a special appearance.
This will be Boyle’s first appearance on stage in the United Kingdom since the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. I Dreamed a Dream will begin March 23, 2012 in Newcastle.
