Rolf Schuebel will direct the film, which was written by Marc Bruce Rosin.
The story centres around the character played by Sarandon, Eleanor, a patient at a psychiatric institute. She hires Colette (Bonham Carter), an attorney, to represent her in a legal battle against the hospital which has been prescribing psychiatric drugs. During the process, the two women form a special friendship.
Production on the project is set to begin next spring in San Francisco and the north of Germany.
