Swavorski Christmas trees bring dazzling beauty around the world

Hong Kong and Megève are home to the newest Swavorski Crystal Christmas trees.

An elegant holiday tradition, Swavorski Crystal Christmas trees light up major cities around the world, with Hong Kong and Megève the newest additions to the elite list.

Until January 2nd, visitors to the Central district of Hong Kong can view the tallest outdoor Swavorski tree at Statue Square, while a smaller tree will be on display until March in Place des Alpes, Megève’s central square.

At the foot of the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong, the 20 million Swavorski crystals glitter by daylight and are lit up by an interactive light show each evening until 9:30 pm. The tree features as the highlight of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s WinterFest.

In the French Alps, luxury ski resort Megève offers a smaller but stunning tree. Decked out in over 3000 Swavorski crystals, the 15 metre tree is illuminated by 90,000 LED bulbs.

Swavorski was founded in 1895 in Austria and the brand has become synonymous with luxury precision-cut crystals. In 2004, it created the 550 pound star that now sits atop the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.
