Sylvester Stallone Honoured

Rocky Balboa, the boxer played on the silver screen by actor Sylvester Stallone, has been immortalised.

According to Britain’s ITV, Stallone was honoured in Philadelphia with a statue of his character, Rocky.  The statue now lives at the foot of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which was the backdrop for a well-known scene from the film Rocky.

Stallone spoke to the crowd saying, "The incredible people of Philadelphia, who without your love, you belief, your incredible fighting spirit this day would have never happened and Rocky and I. Thank you."

Following the ceremony, an outdoor viewing of the film was presented on a special projection screen.

Rocky Balboa, the next and final film of the franchise, will be in theatres in December.  Sylvester Stallone, 60, played his character, Rocky Balboa, until the end.
