Public Mobile holiday gifts include 2GB of free data, 500 international minutes

Telus flanker brand Public Mobile is offering new and existing customers free holiday gifts like extra data and international minutes.

Public customers can claim a one-time free 2GB data bonus and 500 minutes of free international calling. Those who use the Public Points rewards system can claim an extra 1GB of free data. Public’s fineprint notes that the international calling add-on enables calling from Canada to the following countries: United States, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Venezuela.

Existing Public customers should keep an eye out for a text coming from Public detailing the rewards. To claim them, reply ‘YES2’ to the text before December 31st, 2022.

For new customers, Public says the free holiday rewards will be added to your account within one week of activating your SIM card.

The free rewards are one-time-only add-ons and will stay on customers’ accounts until fully used.

Chatr offering 2GB/mo data bonus for 12 months until October 3

Another day, another Chatr data bonus. The Rogers flanker brand now has a 2GB monthly data bonus for 12 months on most of its plans.

The deal is available to new activations of select plans until October 3rd. As with other Chatr offers like this, the bonus will expire if the account becomes inactive or if the plan changes, so make sure to pick a plan you’ll want for at least a year.

Customers can get the deal on Chatr plans starting at $35/mo and up, except for the $45/mo plan. Instead, Chatr offers a special back-to-school deal on its $45/mo 5GB plan that gives it 10GB of bonus data per month for 12 months. The provider has extended the offer several times already, and currently, it’s slated to end on October 3rd as well.

Chatr plans come with either unlimited Canada-wide or unlimited Canada/U.S. talk (depending on the plan), unlimited text, and voicemail. Data is capped at 3G speed, and customers can get an extra 500MB/mo if they sign up for auto-pay.

Public Mobile offering 2GB of bonus data per month for 12 months

Telus flanker brand Public Mobile is offering 2GB of bonus data per month for 12 months.

The offer is available on Public’s website through promo code ‘12MONTH2GB.’ The site notes that the offer is available on any of Public’s $25/mo+ plans and that the data will be applied for 12 months as long as customers are with Public.

However, as per the fine print on the website, the data will expire if the account becomes inactive or if customers change their plan. In other words, make sure you pick a plan you’ll want to keep for at least 12 months.

Additionally, the offer is only available to new customers activating online.

Chatr offers 2GB of bonus data in flash sale that expires April 18th

Chatr Mobile is offering 2GB of bonus data on select plans for the next four days.

The bonus data will apply for a six-month period. The offer expires on April 18th.

It’s available on the following plans:

  • 2.5 GB for $35/ month
  • 4.5GB for $40/ month
  • 10 GB for $50/ month
  • 15GB for $60/month
  • 20GB for $70/ month

The deal isn’t available on the 500MB $25/ month plan.

The flash sale appears to celebrate Vaisakhi, an important occasion for many following the Sikh and Hindu religions.

The Rogers flanker brand isn’t a stranger to such sales. The company recently offered a 3GB flash sale that ended March 31st and a 4GB sale that ended March 21st.

All the above plans can get the 2GB bonus. They also come with unlimited texting and customers who sign up for auto-pay will get a bonus of 500MB of data each month.

Rogers’ flanker brand Chatr Mobile is running a flash sale until February 21st that grants customers 2GB of bonus data for six months.

The offer is available to new activations of ‘Talk, Text & Data’ plans priced $35/mo and up. Chatr notes that the data bonus will expire if the account becomes inactive or if the plan is changed before the end of the six-month period.

Chatr’s eligible plans are as follows (not including the 2GB bonus data):

  • $70/mo 20GB, unlimited Canada-U.S. talk
  • $60/mo 15GB, unlimited Canada-U.S. talk

Chatr offering bonus 2GB/mo and one-month free credit for Lunar New year

Rogers flanker brand Chatr is back with some limited-time deals for the Lunar New Year. Until February 2nd, customers can get 2GB of bonus data per month for eight months plus one month’s “fee in credit.”

The offers apply to almost every plan, with the provider’s $25/mo plan being the only one excluded from the 2GB bonus. That plan does still qualify for the one-month free offer, however.

The 2GB bonus expires if an account becomes inactive or customers change their plan before the end of the eight-month period. The one-month free offer will apply a credit “equivalent to one month’s plan fee” to customers’ bills on the third-anniversary date. Again, Chatr says it won’t apply the credit if accounts become inactive or if users change plans.

It’s worth noting that Chatr has offered variations of the 2GB bonus for a while now (in December, it was 2GB/mo for six months). It appears the one-month free credit was added more recently on January 31st. You can view a full list of Chatr plans below:

Lucky, Chatr and Public offering 2GB bonus data until September 22

Lucky, Chatr and Public, the three value carrier flanker brands, are running a ‘Flash Sale’ offering 2GB of bonus data on select plans.

iPhone in Canada first spotted the offers, all of which expire on September 22nd. It’s important to note, however, that Lucky and Chatr only offer the bonus data for six months, while Public will apply it “for as long as you’re with us.”

Let’s start with Bell’s Lucky Mobile. Lucky will apply a 2GB per month data bonus of up to six months. The offer is only applicable to new activations on a minimum $35 per month plan. Although the offer ends on September 22nd, Lucky notes in the fine print that customers who order online have until October 19th to activate their SIM and redeem the offer.

Finally, Lucky notes that the offer isn’t available at some retail partners, like Dollarama and Giant Tiger.

Next up is Rogers’ Chatr. Like Lucky, Chatr offers a 2GB data bonus on plans starting at $35 per month. The bonus data lasts for six months and is only applicable for new applications. Moreover, Chatr warns that the bonus will expire if an account becomes inactive or the customer changes their plan before six months.

Finally, Telus’ Public Mobile only offers the 2GB bonus on $35+ plans and only for new customers who activate online. Customers must use the promo code 2GBBONUS during activation to get the bonus data.

As mentioned up top, Public says that customers can keep the bonus data as long as they stay with the carrier, although in the fine print notes that the bonus will expire for inactive accounts or when customers change their rate plan.
