Neve Campbell returns for Scream 7!

Neve Campbell, famous for her iconic role as Sidney Prescott in Scream, returns to the horror franchise after leaving the saga due to salary disagreements. Fans who have followed her character since the original 1996 film are delighted at her return, coming after several changes to the franchise in recent months!

Campbell shared the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement at reprising the role of Sidney Prescott, signaling the end of the disagreements that had kept her away from the franchise. Campbell, who testifies to a deep admiration and passion for the character and story of Scream, said she was very happy and proud that the showrunners had respectfully invited her to bring Sidney back to the screen, which really thrilled her.

In the seventh film in the Scream series, there will be a major change in the creative team. Kevin Williamson will take the director’s chair for the very first time. He wrote the screenplay for all three films in the original series and is, for all intents and purposes, the designer of the entire Scream universe and its cult characters.

The collaboration between Williamson and Campbell suggests a possible return to the roots of the franchise, which has been rocked by the departures of two new stars who had brought new life to it: Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.

Paramount Pictures

It’s worth noting that Melissa Barrera’s departure from the franchise caused controversy, and Jenna Ortega decided to leave shortly after Barrera due to scheduling conflicts linked to her commitment to Wednesday at Netflix. A decision that fit well in terms of timing… while the Barrera controversy was in full swing, let’s face it.

Seal: Renewing vows was a circus

Seal wasn’t ”terribly fond of” renewing his wedding vows every year.

The 52-year-old singer – who split from Heidi Klum in 2012 after seven years of marriage – admitted the annual anniversary ritual became a ”circus” and he didn’t enjoy the attention they received for it.

He said: ”That was my ex-wife’s idea, to be honest. It kind of turned into a circus, which I wasn’t terribly fond of because by default I’m quite a private person.

The ‘Kiss From a Rose’ singer – who raises kids Leni, 11, Henri, 10, Johan, eight, and Lou, five, with the 42-year-old beauty – admitted he went through with the ceremony because it made Heidi happy and though he thought it was ”cool”, he didn’t think it was a necessary tradition.

He added to SiriusXM DJ Andy Cohen: ”But then you know, you’re married and you become a team player, and you understand that each of you have different lives, and you do whatever you can to support your partner’s life. But the renewing of the vows, it was cool. I don’t know how necessary it was, but it was cool.”

Heidi previously spoke about how she and Seal found their yearly vow renewal ”so special”.

Speaking while they were still married, she said: ”It’s our time – a lovely family time. It’s about remembering this moment of love we gave to each other and reinforcing it.

”It’s so special to us, something we love and something our children have gotten accustomed to. It’s like, ‘Hey, Mom and Dad love each other and they get married every year!’ ”

”I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six-season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime.

”I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May.”

Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what’s coming, you don’t.(sic)”

Game of Thrones stars get pay rise

‘Games of Thrones’ cast members will be paid $300,000 an episode.

Five of the shows biggest stars – Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – have landed bumper payrises after a series of talks with show producers and in return they have agreed to extend their deals to a seventh season of the fantasy drama.

According to website Deadline, none of the cast members negotiated together and Kit, Lena and Emilia – who play Jon Snow, Cersei Lanister and Daenerys Targaryen – agreed their new contracts first, followed by Peter and Nikolaj, who are known to fans as Cersei’s brothers Tyrion and Jaime Lannister.

It is believed the show uses a tiered system for its cast members, with those earning the $300,000 classed as A tier.

Also in line for pay rises and contract extensions were B tier actresses Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who plays sisters Arya and Sansa Stark, and Natalie Dormer, who portrays the ambitious Margaery Tyrell.

Despite committing to a seventh season of the show – which is currently filming the fifth series – there is no guarantee the cast members will be needed for that long as their characters could be killed off at any point.

Author George R.R. Martin is known for his gruesome death scenes and has yet to finish the book series which the TV show is based on.

Leonardo DiCaprio gives 7m for conservation

Leonardo DiCaprio has pledged $7 million for ocean conservation.

The ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actor spoke at the State Department’s Our Ocean Conference in Washington yesterday (06.17.14), to decry ”the Wild West on the high seas” and called for moves to curb ”plundering the ocean and its vital resources” as he vowed to make a hefty donation from his self-titled foundation for ”meaningful conservation projects” over the next two years.

He said: ”[I’m] here as a concerned citizen of this planet who believes this is the most important issue of our time.

”What we need is sustained activism and courageous political leadership. We cannot afford to be bystanders in this pre-apocalyptic scenario.”

The 39-year-old actor went on to speak of his sadness in the changes he has seen to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef in recent years.

He said: ”Since my very first dive in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia 20 years ago to the dive I got to do in the very same location just two years ago, I’ve witnessed environmental devastation firsthand.

”What once had looked like an endless underwater utopia is now riddled with bleached coral reefs and massive dead zones.”
