Drew Barrymore ‘survived’ Carrie Fisher’s parties

Drew Barrymore is "proud" she "survived" Carrie Fisher’s parties.

The ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ always enjoyed visiting the late actress – who died in December 2016 – at her Los Angeles home but admitted her bashes could be wild.

She said: "I loved going to her house. It was like a hacienda type of like beautiful home off of Coldwater Canyon, very Los Angeles. She just had a very open home. I’d been there for parties, her office in the daytime. It was classic, Spanish, California – sunshine, orange groves and creativity.

"Hell yes, oh yeah! They were [legendary parties]!

"I’m proud to say I came and went because I feel like a lot of people stayed. I remember Garry Shandling being weird in the driveway. And I was like, ‘I’m so glad I’m going home! I’m so glad I’m surviving these kind of nights.’ "

The 53-year-old actress – who has daughters Olive, five, and three-year-old Frankie with ex-husband Will Kopelman – also recalled one of her wild nights out with Hole rocker Courtney Love in the 1990s.

Speaking on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, she said: "Courtney and I were at the backstage of a Seattle club. We’d just come from seeing Green Day.

"We were going to see Beck play at coffee house and the bouncer said, ‘I’m sorry, you can’t come in, you don’t have a backstage pass.’

"And Courtney looked at him and goes, ‘My face is a backstage pass."

And then swept him aside and just walked in and I was still left there standing and I said, ‘[That’s] kind of awesome!’ "

Meanwhile, Drew admitted she and Adam Sandler – who previously teamed up for ‘The Wedding Singer’ in 1998, 2004’s ‘Fifty First Dates’, and ‘Blended’ in 2014 – text "all the time" about working together again.

She said: "Here’s the thing. Adam and I have done a movie every 10 years three decades in a row. You cannot mess with that. We just haven’t figured it out yet.

"We’re like, ‘We’re so fat. We’re so old. What the f**k?’

"Like, literally, the last thing I suggested to him was [a remake of] ‘On Golden Pond’. I had just watched it on a Korean flight home.

"It’s really boring though, I’m into [a remake of] ‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles’ with me and Adam on Netflix."

Jennifer Lawrence says Mother! damaged relationship with Darren Aronofsky

Jennifer Lawrence admits her starring role in ‘Mother!’ damaged her relationship with Darren Aronofsky.

The Academy Award-winning actress played the central role in the director’s psychological horror film – which has divided fans and critics – and Jennifer has confessed that the movie had a negative impact on her relationship with her then-boyfriend.

Jennifer shared: "We’d be on the tour together, I’d come back to the hotel and the last thing I want to talk about or think about is the movie, and he comes back and that’s all he wants to talk about.

"I was doing double duty of trying to be a supportive partner while also being like, ‘Can I please, for the love of God, not think about ‘Mother!’ for one second?’"

‘Mother!’ proved to be a polarising movie, and Jennifer claims that Darren allowed the criticism to bother him, which ultimately hindered their romance.

By contrast, the actress – who dated Darren for 12 months – tried to avoid reading negative reviews of the film they made together.

Speaking to Adam Sandler for Variety magazine’s Actors on Actors series, she explained: "He would start reading me reviews, and I finally was like, ‘It’s not healthy. I’m not going to do it, because if I read it, I start getting defensive.’ Especially because it’s my man."

Jennifer insisted she’s never felt a reason to defend the movie and that she remains proud of ‘Mother!’, even though it has divided opinion among fans.

The Hollywood star – who has previously dated the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Chris Martin – said: "I don’t want to sound in an interview that I’m defending what we’re doing in any way. It’s awesome, what we did.

"The people who hate it really hate it. But it’s nothing that needs to be defended. If I read a negative review, I just feel defensive."

Jennifer Lawrence admits to being rude in public

Jennifer Lawrence turns into a "huge ass" in public.

The Oscar-winning actress is widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s most down-to-earth stars, but Jennifer freely concedes that her attitude towards people changes as soon as she’s in a public space.

Speaking to Adam Sandler for Variety magazine’s Actors on Actors series, Jennifer explained: "Once I enter a public place I become incredibly rude, I turn into a huge ass.

"That’s kind of like my only way of defending myself [from fan attention]."

During their chat, the 27-year-old actress demonstrated her icy glare and finger wag, which she uses when fans approach her in public.

She revealed too, that she has no qualms about declining to pose for selfies with her fans.

Jennifer said: "That’s like my only defence. One of my best friends is Amy Schumer. I take my dog to the park all the time, Central Park. As soon as I meet her in the park, we’re f***ed."

Meanwhile, Jennifer previously claimed that people pay too much attention to her and what she’s doing with her life.

The ‘Mother!’ star believes she is understood by the public, but she thinks they ought to find other things to interest themselves with, rather than focusing on her career and personal life.

She said in 2016: "I don’t feel like I’m misunderstood. I feel like I’m over-paid-attention-to.

"I’m not trying to be a GIF. I’m not trying to be a picked-up-on-Twitter quote. All I’m trying to do is act. And I have to promote these movies. And I am, at the end of the day, I guess, a f***ing lunatic. So if you record what I’m saying, it’s gonna be goofy.

"What do I do? What do I do? I’m just a girl, sitting in front of the world and asking them to forgive her for speaking."

Justin Bieber’s acting ambition

Justin Bieber has asked Adam Sandler for advice on how to break into the film industry.

The 23-year-old singer is desperate to pursue his acting career and he has reportedly met with the 51-year-old actor and 53-year-old stand-up comedian, David Spade, to discuss the "movie world" and to get tips on the business.

Speaking to Us Weekly about the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker’s recent meeting, which took place at Morton’s The Steakhouse in California last month, a source said: "Justin Bieber asked Adam Sandler and David Spade out to dinner to pick their brains about breaking into the film industry. They had a great time! Justin had a lot of questions for them about the movie world."

And the Canadian hunk arranged the dinner to "educate" himself about the sector because he is eager to expand his horizons and become an actor, and a director or a producer.

The insider continued: "He is trying to educate himself about the industry and learn more about it. He wants to break into acting and directing/producing."

However, Justin has already graced the big screen as he has appeared in two documentaries, including ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never’, as well as ‘Justin Bieber’s Believe’ two years later.

The ‘What Do You Mean’ artists has also made a cameo appearance in ‘Zoolander 2’, which was released last year, as well as popular TV shows ‘Punk’d’ and ‘CSI’, which saw him portray the young serial killer Jason in the 11th series of the show.

This news comes shortly after Justin was forced to cancel several dates of his ‘Purpose World Tour’ in July this year because he was suffering from "exhaustion", but after taking a few months out of his busy schedule to recover, he is now "happier" and more "energetic" than ever.

Speaking previously about Justin, a separate source said: "He was just not himself. He was profoundly unhappy. Exhausted, low energy. He was just miserable. He needed to step back, recalibrate, and then figure out his next move.

"It has been a process, but he’s doing so much better. He seems happier, more energetic. It’s encouraging. He’s not completely there, but he’s definitely on his way."

Mark Wahlberg named Hollywood’s highest-paid actor

Mark Wahlberg has been named Hollywood’s highest-paid actor.

The ‘Deepwater Horizon’ star has topped Forbes’ list for 2017 after earning a whopping $68 million, thanks to huge roles in ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ and ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.

Following not that far behind is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who earned $65 million, from his parts in ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, which he is said to have received eight sum figures for.

Earning $54.5 million from the latest instalment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise amongst others, Vin Diesel took third place, followed by Adam Sandler ($50.5 million), Jackie Chan ($49 million) and Robert Downey Jr. ($48 million).

Tom Cruise ($43 million) and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan ($38 million) took seventh and eight place respectively. And completing the top 10 were two other Bollywood actors – Salman Khan ($37 million) and Akshay Kumar ($35.5 million).

Meanwhile, Mark previously revealed being a father to daughters Ella, 13, and Grace, seven, and sons Brendan, eight and Michael, 11 – who he has with his wife Rhea Durham – is his number one priority.

When asked if being a spiritual person affected which roles he chose, he shared: "Absolutely. And also being a dad. And a husband. What I’m willing to do and not do. I never want to compromise my artistic integrity. But at the same time, with [playing a porn star in] ‘Boogie Nights’, I already did that. I’d be hard-pressed to do something in that world today …

"Sometimes you have no control [over a film’s success]. Once you’ve done everything you can to create something, it goes out there and it either works or doesn’t. At the end of the day I just know I did everything I could do to make it the best it would be. Then you gotta be able to move on. Let it go."

Salma Hayek feels others’ pain

Salma Hayek feels other people’s pain.

The 50-year-old actress – who has daughter Valentina, nine, with husband Francois-Henri Pinault – claims she has an unusual ability that helps her relate to others, much like her character in her new movie ‘Beatriz at Dinner’.

She told People: "I do have the ability to sometimes experience someone else’s pain. Maybe not exactly the same, but it does affect me."

Asked if she’d ever felt it before, she replied: "Oh yeah, but I’m not gonna tell you."

And Salma claims her response to someone else’s pain has made her a more empathetic person.

She added: "[It] affects a little bit how you see the world and it definitely creates a higher sense of empathy."

The ‘Sausage Party’ star previously revealed she would have loved to have been an astronaut if she wasn’t an actress.

She said: "There is the job that I would love to do and then the reality of the job I would be doing. I would have loved to have been an astronaut.

"[If I wasn’t an actress] I probably would be working at some flower shop or married in Coatzacoalcos [her hometown] with 10 kids, I don’t know."

And there is every chance Salma’s daughter could follow her into the film industry as she previously revealed her daughter gave her acting notes on the set of ‘Tale of Tales’.

She said: "She’s definitely a director and even in the silly comedies with Adam Sandler [‘Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2’], since she was very, very little, she likes to stay right to the monitor. And it’s troublesome because she likes to come over and give me notes. And I say, ‘No, you’re not allowed’. Then I think about the note and it’s like, ‘Damn – she’s right’. They’re good."

And Salma wants to make sure her daughter gets proper schooling and so only opts for movies where she can stay with the family whilst filming or will go further afield when her daughter’s off school.

She added: "It’s very simple. I only work either in the summer or in the situations where I am never apart from her. The maximum in my whole life is two weeks. And that’s why I also only take films in Europe or around her holiday schedules … It gets complicated."
