Amazon Luna now available on the Samsung Gaming Hub in Canada

The Samsung Gaming Hub now supports Amazon Luna in Canada, one month after the game streaming service launched here.

Available on 2021-2023 Samsung smart TV models, the Samsung Gaming Hub combines game services from multiple companies, including Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now. With this latest update, Canadians can stream games from Amazon’s Luna service directly from their Samsung TVs.

To access Luna, you’ll need Amazon’s proprietary Luna controller or a compatible USB 2.0 and Bluetooth controller.

However, you’ll need a subscription to actually play games on Luna:

  • Luna+ ($12.99/month with a 7-day trial) — includes dozens of games from various publishers, such as Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, Sonic Colors Ultimate and Yakuza Kiwami
  • Ubisoft+ Multi-Access ($22.99/month) — dozens of games from Ubisoft’s catalogue, including Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Beyond Good & Evil and Watch Dogs: Legion
  • Jackbox Games ($6.49/month) — includes every Jackbox party game (Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, Drawful and more)

Alternatively, Prime members get a few different Luna games each month. For April, that includes Yakuza Kiwami 2, The Jackbox Games Party Pack 3, Horizon Chase Turbo and The Adventure Pals.

Here’s what’s coming to Amazon Luna in April 2023

In case you missed it, Amazon finally launched its game streaming service, Luna, in Canada on March 22nd.

Therefore, going forward, we’ll start rounding up the new titles that join the subscription platform’s catalogue every month.

Note: this list applies to Luna’s base membership, the $12.99/month Luna+, which offers unlimited access to dozens of games for the monthly fee. With all of that out of the way, here’s what’s coming to Luna+ in April:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Batora: Lost Haven
  • Endzone: A World Apart
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning
  • Lego DC Super-Villains

Meanwhile, Prime members can play a small rotating list of games at no additional cost, and currently, that includes:

  • The Adventure Pals
  • Horizon Chase Turbo
  • The Jackbox Games Party Pack 3
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2

It’s worth noting that Luna has two other subscription options:

  • Ubisoft+ Mulit-Access ($22.99/month) — dozens of games from Ubisoft’s catalogue, including Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Beyond Good & Evil and Watch Dogs: Legion
  • Jackbox Games ($6.49/month) — includes every Jackbox party game (Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, Drawful and more)

Amazon Luna cloud gaming service now available in Canada

Amazon has launched its Luna cloud gaming service in Canada.

The platform debuted in the U.S. last March and is now finally expanding to Canada, as well as the U.K. and Germany.

With Luna, users can a variety of games on Fire TV, Fire tablets, PCs, Chromebooks, iOS, Android, Macs and more.

A few games will be available to stream at no additional cost for Prime members, including Mega Man 11. This selection will rotate every month.

Otherwise, there are three subscription options — referred to as “channels” — available for Luna:

  • Luna+ ($12.99/month with a 7-day trial) — includes dozens of games from various publishers, such as Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, Sonic Colors Ultimate and Yakuza Kiwami
  • Ubisoft+ ($22.99/month) — dozens of games from Ubisoft’s catalogue, including Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Beyond Good & Evil and Watch Dogs: Legion
  • Jackbox Games ($6.49/month) — includes every Jackbox party game (Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, Drawful and more)

Amazon’s channels approach is markedly different from what Google tried with its now-shuttered Stadia cloud gaming service, where you were primarily required to purchase games à la carte. It’s also more in line with the subscription model adopted by the likes Xbox Game Pass and Nvidia GeForce Now.

Additionally, Amazon is selling its proprietary Nintendo Switch Pro Controller-esque Luna gamepad on its website for $89.99. It’s intended to connect directly with Amazon’s services for a low-latency experience. However, some Bluetooth controllers, like PlayStation’s DualShock 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Controller, are also supported. You can also use mouse and keyboard.

More information on Amazon Luna can be found here.
