Zoe Saldana drinks vodka to cope with twins

Zoe Saldana drinks vodka to help her cope with sleep training her twins.

The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star – who has six-month-old Bowie and Cy with her husband Marco Perego – has confessed she often resorts to sipping on the spirit to help her de-stress when she struggles to send the youngsters off into a slumber.

She explained: ”Sleep training twins is no joke because you put one to sleep and you lay him down, and the other one has been asleep, but then that one wakes up and the other one wakes up so then everybody’s crying, then my husband and I are crying…You’re like, ‘Oh, my God!’

”It’s overwhelming because there are so many different methods. Just the other day, my sister, who has a 9-month-old, shared with us the method that she did. She brought the piece of paper and grabbed us both with a bottle of vodka. She goes, ‘What do you guys have?’ That’s how her and her husband did it. Because the moment you hear your child cry, it’s like it rips the guts out of you. And it’s like, we have two. It’s crazy.

”My husband doesn’t drink and he’s like, ‘Gimme that bottle!”’

Despite also struggling to change her kids’ diapers, the 36-year-old beauty gushed over the twins and described welcoming the tots as a ”blessing”.

She told PEOPLE: ”It’s great. It’s a blessing. We know because people keep telling us.

”No, we’re very, very happy. It’s just like whatever you do – if you change a diaper and you put one down, it’s like you have to do it all over again. That’s when they’re in a good mood. But if they’re having a tantrum and it’s at the same time…”

James Cameron to film three Avatar sequels at same time

James Cameron is to film three ‘Avatar’ sequels at the same time.

The 57-year-old director looks set to helm the hat-trick of movies after Sigourney Weaver, who is due to reprise her role as Dr. Grace Augustine for the follow up motion pictures to the 2009 3-D sci-fi film – which tells the tale of humans exploiting the natural resources of the planet Pandora – confirmed the plans are in her schedule.

In an interview with Showbiz 411, the 62-year-old actress admits she has no idea how James is going to helm all three movies at once, nor how long it will take before adding: "I just show up."

Sigourney’s comments come after James – who has directed ‘Titanic’, ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Aliens’ – previously admitted he only plans to make ‘Avatar’ films for the rest of his career.

He explained: "I’m in the ‘Avatar’ business. Period. That’s it. I’m making ‘Avatar 2’, ‘Avatar 3’, maybe ‘Avatar 4’, and I’m not going to produce other people’s movies for them.

"I’m not interested in taking scripts…. I think within the ‘Avatar’ landscape I can say everything I need to say that I think needs to be said, in terms of the state of the world and what I think we need to be doing about it. And doing it in an entertaining way."

Avatar theme park coming to Florida

While the 3D experience may have been immersive, fans will soon have the opportunity to actually visit Avatar‘s fictional world of Pandora, with the opening of Avatar-themed interactive exhibits at Walt Disney theme parks, reports Coming Soon.

The first exhibit will open at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Park in Florida, with construction scheduled to begin in 2013. Other Disney parks will soon follow.

"’Avatar’ created a world which audiences can discover again and again and now, through this incredible partnership with Disney, we’ll be able to bring Pandora to life like never before," said writer-director James Cameron, who will be heavily involved in the creation of the exhibits.

"With two new ‘Avatar’ films currently in development, we’ll have even more locations, characters and stories to explore. I’m chomping at the bit to start work with Disney’s legendary ‘Imagineers’ to bring our ‘Avatar’ universe to life. Our goal is to go beyond current boundaries of technical innovation and experiential storytelling, and give park goers the chance to see, hear, and touch the world of ‘Avatar’ with an unprecedented sense of reality."

Avatar 2 and 3 announced for 2014 and 2015

Early next year, James Cameron will begin working on scripts for Avatar 2 and 3, reports Variety.

The Canadian director has signed an agreement with Fox and the studio hopes to release Avatar 2 in December 2014, with the third sequel to be released the following year.

“In the second and third films, which will be self contained stories that also fulfill a greater story arc, we will not back off the throttle of Avatar’s visual and emotional horsepower, and will continue to explore its themes and characters, which touched the hearts of audiences in all cultures around the world,” said Cameron. “I’m looking forward to returning to Pandora, a world where our imaginations can run wild."

Cameron is also transposing his blockbuster film Titanic, which won a record-breaking eleven Academy Awards, into 3D by 2012 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the ship’s tragic sinking.

Avatar 2 coming in 2013?

Talking at a technological forum in Seoul, South Korea, director James Cameron said that the sequel to Avatar will take 18 months less to make than the first film. He added that he will confirm a release date for Avatar 2 in the coming months. It’s very likely that it could come to a big screen near you in 2013.

The first Avatar took four years to make before it was ready to be released. Cameron previously stated he would focus on the ocean of Pandora for the second instalment in the story.

Back to the technological forum, the director added that he thinks 3D will become the standard film format within 25 years. According to him, Avatar proved that 3D is not just a fad but is more like a revolution. His film has been watched most in this version.

Avatar won three Oscars and has earned more than $2.7 billion at the box office worldwide, without including the $19.7 million in DVD and Blu-ray sales in the last three weeks.

New frontiers for the next Avatar

Avatar is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow (April 22) to coincide with Earth Day. Director James Cameron thought it was a good opportunity to give The Los Angeles Times some details about the second and possibly third Avatar films.

He said: "We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film."

He also mentioned: "I’ve already announced this, so I might as well say it: Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well."

The DVD and Blu-Ray editions out tomorrow do not have any extras. This is because Avatar is coming back to theatres in August with an additional six minutes of footage. After that theatre run, the new DVD and Blu-ray versions will have some extras.

Avatar is the most successful film of all time with more than $2.7 billion US in ticket sales around the world to date.

Titanic in 3D

James Cameron has speculated before about re-releasing his mega-hit Titanic in 3D. Now he confirms it is going to happen.

In an interview with USA Today, the director mentions that he plans to re-release the film with the same technology he used for Avatar. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The director says, "We’re targeting spring of 2012 for the release [of a 3D version of Titanic], which is the 100 year anniversary of the sailing of the ship."

His film Avatar is still playing on the big screen and will come back to theatres at the end of the summer or in the fall in an extended version.

Cameron has some 40 minutes of cut scenes to work with. He could add 10 more minutes to the current film. The maximum length an IMAX film can be is 170 minutes and Avatar already clocks in at 160.

Avatar was knocked out of the #1 spot at the box office when Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was released.

Rumour has it that an Avatar DVD will be released on April 22 but nothing has been confirmed. The 30 minutes Cameron has in reserve could end up on the DVD version of the film.

James Cameron will next direct the action-sci-fi film Battle Angel in 2011. The cast has not been confirmed.

Jake and Matt turned down Avatar

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, director James Cameron said the role of Jake Sully in Avatar was first offered to Jake Gyllenhaal. He politely but firmly refused. Then producers turned to Matt Damon who also refused.

Cameron says that Sam Worthington was always his first choice. He admits, "Honestly, did I go out and try to woo them? No. I had my heart set on Sam. Maybe they sensed my lack of 100 percent commitment from me. Maybe it was the subject matter. This was a big Star Wars-type movie. They’re both serious actors."

All’s well that ends well for Worthington. He endured some lean years living out of his car while trying to make it as an actor. Today, Avatar‘s success has made him a household name in many parts of the world. The actor has already signed on to do the sequel.

Jake Gyllenhaal will soon be in theatres starring in the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Matt Damon stars in the Green Zone.
