Nothing’s Ear (1) buds could soon come in black

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei’s new company, Nothing, launched its first product earlier this year: the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds.

The buds sport a very unique look with a mix of white and transparent plastic. However, some people absolutely must dark mode all the things, so it unsurprisingly didn’t take long for people to start asking Nothing launch Ear (1) buds in black. Now, it seems the company might actually do it.

Starting at the beginning, YouTuber Casey Neistat posted a picture of Nothing Ear (1) buds on Twitter that he coloured black with a Sharpie. Nothing shared the tweet, asking if it was something people wanted.

Fast forward several days, and renders of black Nothing Ear (1) buds are making rounds on Reddit, and leaker Evan Blass posted a picture of a black Ear (1) design. The Redditor who posted the renders claims they’re from assets in the Ear (1) Android app.

While that doesn’t necessarily mean Nothing will launch black Ear (1) buds, Blass’ involvement suggests the product could actually be on the way. And if the Redditor did get the renders from Nothing’s app, that would further indicate the company plans to launch a new Ear (1) colour.

Finally, Android Police spotted a tweet pointing to a Nothing video uploaded in July that clearly shows part of a black Ear (1) bud on the desk (it’s visible at 0:39 seconds). So, it seems that Nothing at least toyed with a black colour option before launching the Ear (1) in August — if the company’s already done that, it might not take long for it to get a black colour option ready to sell.

Ozzy Osbourne didn’t enjoy being on TV

Ozzy Osbourne felt like a ”f***ing laboratory rat” on his family reality show.

The Black Sabbath frontman insists he doesn’t regret taking part in ‘The Osbournes’ with wife Sharon and children Jack and Kelly, but is equally relieved the fly-on-the-wall show – which ran from 2002 to 2005 – came to an end when it did.

He said: ”It was an experiment. Looking back, I’m glad we did it but I’m glad we jumped off when we did after three years of feeling like a f***ing laboratory rat.

”We went from being a relatively normal family to this f***ing family that was blown apart. It has taken a long time to get back together. The only good thing about it is that Sharon got a career out of it.”

Ozzy insists it wasn’t his decision to make more than one series of the show and he only went along with it to keep his family happy.

He said: ”Sharon would say, ‘Do you want to do another season?’ and I’d go along with it because they’re family. At the end of it, I was f***ing wiped out, my whole family was disintegrating.

”My wife was in bed for nine months battling colon cancer, my kids were all in rehab, I was f***ing dying. I just wanted to get my rock ‘n’ roll life back.”

And the 65-year-old rocker admits he has never even seen an episode of the program.

He told Time Out magazine: ”I never watched an episode of ‘The Osbournes’, I don’t like to see myself on TV. That’s why when Sharon says so-and-so want to do a pilot for another TV show, I say, ‘Sharon I’m a rock ‘n’ roller. I didn’t join a band in 1968 to be a f***ing weather reporter on the f***ing six o’clock news. I don’t want to know. Leave me out of it.”

The Black Keys confirm new album

The Black Keys are planning a new album for 2013.

The ‘Lonely Boy’ group are planning to follow up 2011’s ‘El Camino’ with their eighth album early next year.

Drummer Patrick Carney told US radio station KROQ: "We’re going to start making a new album in January and we’re going to tour a little more in the spring.

"Our plan is to have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things like go to bed early and wake up early, walk the dog, that kind of stuff. Then we’ll probably be back on the road starting next fall."

While the band are known for how hard they work, Patrick – who recently married Emily Ward – is adamant they will have a break next year.

He added:"Whenever we try to build in breaks and time off, it doesn’t work out. But next year, we’re also committed to a vacation."

Although he’s not sure if the duo – completed by Dan Auerbach – will use a producer on their new album, if they do, he hopes to reunite with Danger Mouse, who worked on their last three albums.

He said: "We’ve been working with him since 2007and we’re all really good friends. But he’s also really busy, producing so many records lately, so hopefully he has time. He’s producing U2′s record – that takes priority over us."
