Travis Barker goes solo

According to Spinner magazine, one of the most tattooed drummers in rock, Travis Barker, is working on his first solo album.

The Blink 182 musician has worked with lots of talent since the band went on hiatus in 2004. He also survived a plane crash in 2008. He is now planning to make a diversified solo album. "I just love music, so with my album it’s no one genre. It goes from everything from punk rock to hip-hop to some electro stuff on there to a metal song with Corey Taylor from Slipknot. It’s been really fun and interesting up ’till now," he says.

Barker performed in the revved up opening number at the recent Grammy Awards. He worked the drums while hip hop stars Eminem, Lil Wayne and Drake sang.

Travis Barker did not want to reveal all the surprises in store on this album. One thing is for sure: there will be collaborations with lots of major stars. The disk should be released by the end of the year.

Blink-182 Putting Out Music Again

The pop punk group has announced that they are in the studio working on their next album. The band hasn’t released a studio album since their last eponymous effort in 2003.

Following the release of the album, the group decided to take an indefinite break after tensions grew between the three band members. Last year, the group reunited and sang at the Grammys. Then later in the year, they set off on a short reunion tour.

When asked about which direction the band would be taking, guitarist Tom Delonge stated, "No one really knows what to expect from the next Blink record, I don’t think anyone thinks it’s going to be a straightforward rock record. … It’s probably the most ambitious songwriting and art that we’ve ever made."

No title or release date has yet been given for what will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated albums of 2010.

Blink-182 Cancels a Show

The band cancelled their concert in Saratoga Springs, New York yesterday (August 31) to mourn the death of their friend, Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM.

Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, Chester French and other surprise guests still performed without Blink-182.

DJ AM and Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, were the only survivors of a plane crash that occurred last year. The two men were also formerly part of the duo TRVSDJ-AM.

The DJ was found dead on Friday in his New York apartment. The cause of his death will be revealed following an investigation.

Blink-182 apologized to their fans, and announced that they would be continuing their tour tomorrow in Cleveland.

New Album for Panic! At The Disco

The lasting members of the group Panic! At The Disco, Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith, are already preparing to continue the band’s career despite the recent break-up, reports Billboard.com.

In July, they lost two members, guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker, who started their own group called Young Veins.

Currently, Urie and drummer Smith are finishing a series of tour dates with Blink-182, and have hired new musicians.

They also have a new single called New Perspective, which Urie wrote around nine months ago. The song will be featured on the soundtrack for the film Jennifer’s Body.

Urie revealed that he and Smith have about 10 other songs that they are considering recording for a third Panic! At The Disco album. They plan to record the album in the fall and release it at the beginning of next year. Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 has already agreed to produce at least one song on the album.

Blink-182 to Release New Song

Unfortunately, Blink-182 did not have time to release a new album before the start of their next tour. However, the group will release a new song that should be ready before they hit the road to Las Vegas on July 23, reports Billboard.

Guitarist Tom DeLonge said that the song entitled Up All Night is "a little bit of (Pink) Floyd, a little bit of Rush, a little bit of Blink in there. It’s crazy, but it somehow sounds exactly like where we left off (in 2005). It’s an amazing song."

DeLonge added that the song is practically finished, and they are only waiting for Travis Barker to finish his part on the drums.

Details of when the new song will be released have not yet been determined.

Blink-182 and Weezer Plan a Summer Tour

In what promises to be one of the most exciting concerts of the summer, the groups Blink-182, Weezer and Fall Out Boy will be sharing the same stage, according to what’s been confirmed by Interscope, Blink-182’s label.

The rumour circulated last week in Rolling Stone magazine, but an official press conference will be held next week, and there is a possibility that more bands could be tacked onto the lineup.

This will be Blink-182’s first tour since 2005. Bassist Mark Hoppus wants to give concert goers something to talk about. He revealed that they have "recruited Kanye West’s set designer to give the tour some flair." Hoppus also added, "We want to use the entire arena as a lighting rig and stage. We’re being as ambitious as possible."

The tour is set to begin on July 24 and will wrap up in October.
