Blink-182 Projects Underway

The trio has already begun working on a comeback album, less than three months after announcing their reunion, reports FemaleFirst.

The group surprised the music industry when they announced their reunion on February 9. Today, singer Mark Hoppus revealed that he and his cronies have already begun writing new songs, and that they are also planning to go on tour.

He said, "We started writing a few months ago and got well into the writing process, but now we’ve kind of put the recording of the next album on hold and are doing rehearsals for the upcoming tour."

Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker split as a group in 2005.

Will Blink-182 Tour with Weezer?

The two bands may be planning a summer concert tour.

According to Buzznet.com, an announcement may be coming soon from the groups, although no official comments have yet been made.

Since reuniting on stage in February for the Grammy Awards, Blink-182’s frontman, Mark Hoppus, has been sharing the band’s projects with fans via Twitter.  He has written about touring and a new album.

This wouldn’t be the first time for the bands to tour with another band.  In 2005, Weezer hit the road with the Foo Fighters, and Blink-182 has toured with Green Day and No Doubt.

Blink-182 To Reunite

After splitting up in 2005, the members of Blink-182 are talking again, sparking rumours of a reunion, reports Billboard.com.

On his blog, former member Mark Hoppus revealed that the recent death of producer Jerry Finn, as well as drummer Travis Barker’s plane crash, have brought the musicians back together.

"We’re just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking," he says. "It’s a good thing. Obviously the first question for a lot of people will be, ‘Does this mean a Blink-182 reunion?’ The answer is none of us know. We haven’t talked about it at all."

Following the breakup of the band, Barker and Hoppus formed the band +44, while Tom DeLonge joined the band Angels & Airwaves.

Blink-182 Takes a Break

The band, at the top of their career, explains, "For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and done non-stop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends."

The San Diego group founded in 1993 further added, "To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with their loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring."
