Best Canadian carrier Boxing Week 2022 deals so far

Boxing Day Week is nearly upon us and already some Canadian carriers and wireless providers are rolling out the deals. We’ve gathered some of the best offers to emerge so far and listed them below. However, make sure to check back as we’ll be updating this page over the next few weeks with new offers.

And, if you’re curious to see how some of these deals stack up to what was available on Black Friday, you can find our old roundup here.

Koodo, Fido, Virgin Plus $50/40GB, $45/20GB

First up, the Big Three flanker brands are offering $50/mo 40GB and $45/mo 20GB plans.

Telus’ Koodo launched the plan first, then Rogers’ Fido and Bell’s Virgin Plus followed soon after. With all three, the deal involves a $15/mo bill credit that lasts 15 months:

  • $65/mo 40GB plan + $15/mo bill credit = $50/mo for 15 months
  • $60/mo 20GB + $15/mo bill credit = $45/m0 for 15 months

This isn’t quite as good as the $45/50GB plan offered during Black Friday, but we’re still early in the Boxing Week deal season, so we’ll see what happens.

Bell

Bell also bumped up the data included on some of its plans:

  • Essential – $85/mo 50GB (250Mbps), normally 25GB
  • Ultimate 100 – $90/mo 100GB (“fastest available 5G+ speeds”), normally $95/45GB or $105/60GB
  • Ultimate 100 with Canada-U.S. calling, texting, and data – $95/mo 100GB (“fastest available 5G+ speeds”), normally $125/mo

Check out all of Bell’s offers here.

Telus

Telus dropped a few plan offers for Boxing Week and is giving out $10/mo bill credits for 24 months when customers shop phones online or bring their own device:

  • Unlimited 50 5G – $85/mo 50GB of data (250Mbps) | previously: $85/25GB
  • Unlimited 100 5G+ – $90/mo 100GB (1Gbps) | previously: $95/50GB
  • Unlimited CAN-US 100 5G+ – $95/mo 100GB (1Gbps) plus unlimited data, talk, and text in Canada and the U.S. | previously: $125/100GB

And phone deals:

  • Save $100 when you buy online ($50 one-time bill credit + Telus waives the $50 connection fee)
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back (plus get three months of free Apple TV+)
  • iPhone 14 – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back (plus get three months of free Apple TV+)
  • Motorola Edge 2022 – $0 down, $0 financing with Bring-It-Back
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back

Check out all of Telus’ deals here.

Rogers

Rogers is offering some plan deals, including $85/mo 50GB and $90/mo 100GB plans (normally 25GB and 40GB, respectively). The Toronto-based carrier also has some deals on smartphones:

  • iPhone 14 – $0 down, $0/mo financing with iPhone 12 trade-in (in-store only)
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 – $0 down, $15/mo financing with trade-in (in-store only), or $30/mo financing online
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 – $0 down, $20/mo financing with trade-in (in-store only), or $35/mo financing online
  • Pixel 7 – $0 down, $23.70/mo financing with Upfront Edge

You can view more Rogers deals here.

We’ll be updating this page through the Boxing Week sale period with more deals. Notice something’s missing? Let us know by tweeting us @MobileSyrup or in the comment section below.

Telus rolls out Boxing Week plans and deals on phones

Vancouver-based national telecom Telus rolled out special Boxing Week plans on December 13th.

Generally, Telus’ Boxing Week plans offer more data for the same or even a slightly lower price than what the carrier typically offers. Plus, Telus is offering a $10/mo bill credit for 24 months for customers who buy a smartphone online or bring their own device.

Check out the prices below:

  • Unlimited 50 5G – $85/mo 50GB of data (250Mbps) | previously: $85/25GB
  • Unlimited 100 5G+ – $90/mo 100GB (1Gbps) | previously: $95/50GB
  • Unlimited CAN-US 100 5G+ – $95/mo 100GB (1Gbps) plus unlimited data, talk, and text in Canada and the U.S. | previously: $125/100GB

Along with the plans, Telus also has some deals on devices. Check out some of the best offers below:

  • Save $100 when you buy online ($50 one-time bill credit + Telus waives the $50 connection fee)
  • Save up to 50 percent on select accessories
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back (plus get three months of free Apple TV+)
  • iPhone 14 – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back (plus get three months of free Apple TV+)
  • Motorola Edge 2022 – $0 down, $0 financing with Bring-It-Back
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 – $0 down, $30/mo financing with Bring-It-Back
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – $0 down, $25/mo financing with Bring-It-Back
  • Overall, the offers from Telus aren’t terrible. Customers can effectively double their data at no cost for the $85 plan, or get 100GB for less than they’d normally pay for 50GB.

And while Telus’ plans do come with the benefit of 5G access, I’m not sure that’s enough to justify the extra cost over something like Koodo’s $50/40GB promo plan.

We’re still early in the Boxing Day deal season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some better offers came along. But hey, this is a start.

Check out our comparison of Canadian carrier pricing in early 2022 to late 2022 here.

Sonos will kick off its Boxing Week offers on Thursday, December 24th this year and the deals will run until the 27th. If you’re in the market to pick up a new Sonos speaker, that might be the time to do it.

Ahead of the Boxing Week event, Sonos revealed that it would have its new Roam speaker on sale. The Roam will be available for $199 in Canada, down from the regular $229 price.

Unfortunately, Sonos didn’t share any other details about its upcoming sale, so you’ll need to wait until December 24th to see what other deals the company will have on.

SaskTel drops prices on internet, data plans and devices for Boxing Week

As with all the other carriers in the country (seriously check our deals page), SaskTel has dropped a plethora of discounts and sales on its products for ‘Boxing Week.’

As much as I want to comment on the fact that I thought Boxing Week was after December 24th, let’s just hop into the deals.

Below are all of the carrier’s offers:

Wireless

When it comes to wireless deals, SaskTel is offering people either a discount on a new device or $20 off per month on a plan when they buy a new phone. As far as I can tell, the phone discounts are quite substantial, with the iPhone 13 being knocked down to $359 upfront or a lowly $15 per month ($770 off).

You can check out the plans and devices here.

Accessory deals

These deals are less substantial but may apply to some people in specific circumstances. The first deal takes 20 percent off the purchase of two or more cases and the second just discounts on Galaxy Watches and Galaxy Buds. Other items like Nest Mini and the Chromecast are also on sale.

You can browse those deals here.

TV + Internet bundle deals

If you sign up for a TV plus SakTel’s 150 download speed internet on a two-year plan, you’ll get a $100 bonus credit. When bundled together, the plan is only $85 a month as well. There are two other options that feature the same internet speeds but switch up the TV package included.

You can view all three bundles here.

Internet deals

If you just want an internet package, there are a few deals for you as well, at least if you’re a new subscriber to the company. Sasktel is also offering a free year of its Optimum internet service, but that’s just an upgraded router and Wi-Fi extender. You’re likely better off investing in your own gear and avoiding this since it’s an extra $10 per pay period after the free year.

The cheapest plan starts at $65 per month for 150Mbps down and 75Mbps up if you’re a new subscriber. This deal is only valid for the first two years and then it’s $10 more expensive if you stay in a contract after that, and $20 more expensive if you decide to leave the contract but stay with SakTel month-to-month. The most expensive plan starts at $125 per month and gets 940Mbps down and 500Mbps up.

You can view and compare the internet plans here.

Here are the best Canadian carrier Boxing Week deals so far

Several Canadian carriers and flanker brands started rolling out Boxing Day Week and holiday deals. There are quite a few offers out there, but only a few are really good. Below you’ll find some of the best Boxing Week carrier deals revealed so far.

Note: Expect carriers to change, remove or add deals over the coming weeks. We’ll try our best to keep this page updated with great offers over the next few weeks.

Bell

Bell has a few deals that are worth paying attention to. The main highlights from Bell’s Boxing Week offers include six months of free Crave when you finance a phone with Bell. The carrier also has three months of free Apple Fitness+ for those who buy select Apple Watch models from Bell. Phone highlights include:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 – $0 down, $17.50/mo financing with Device Return Option (or $30/mo financing if you keep it). Either way, you’ll save compared to buying the phone directly from Samsung for $999.99.
  • iPhone 13 – $0 down, $22.71/mo financing with Device Return Option.

You can check out more Bell Boxing Day offers here.

Telus

Online shoppers looking to pick up a Samsung device should pay attention to Telus’ Samsung earbuds deals. The Vancouver-based national carrier will give away free Galaxy Buds Live with select Samsung phones. If you want a phone that doesn’t qualify for that, Telus also offers $70 off Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2.

Rogers

Toronto-based national carrier Rogers has a few decent deals on for Boxing Week. For one, Rogers has the cheapest 40GB plan of the Big Three carriers at $80/mo (Bell and Telus both charge $85/mo for 40GB). Rogers also offers six months of free Disney+ and/or six months of free Apple Music with select plans. More highlights include:

Check out more of Rogers’ Black Friday offers here.

Fido

Fido has a couple of decent offers when it comes to phones, plus two decent plan offers for Boxing Day:

As for plans, Fido has the $50/12GB offer once again (although this means little if you already grabbed it during the Black Friday sale). The Roger flanker brand has a $55/17GB plan too.

You can check out the other Fido highlights here.

Virgin Plus

Bell flanker brand Virgin Plus has a ton of deals on phones and some interesting add-ons, like four months of YouTube Premium with select phones. Check out some highlights below:
