Chatr sale offers 2GB or 10GB of bonus data on select plans

Rogers’ flanker brand Chatr Mobile is back with another 2GB bonus data offer. Until September 19th, new activations can get 2GB of bonus data for 12 months on $35+ plans.

As with previous versions of this deal, the data bonus will expire if an account becomes inactive or if you change your plan, so make sure you lock in a plan you’ll want for at least one year.

Customers can also gain a bonus 500MB each month if they sign up for Chatr’s auto-pay system, for a total of 2.5GB of extra data.

The one exception to all this is Chatr’s $45/mo 5GB plan, which has a back-to-school deal with a bonus of 10GB of data per month for 12 months. The $45 plan isn’t eligible for the 2GB bonus, which honestly is fine since you’re getting 10GB instead.

It’s worth noting that the student deal was supposed to end on September 8th, but now Chatr lists the end date as September 20th. If you’re looking for a low-cost plan with tons of data, this may be the way to go.

Chatr $45/15GB student plan deal ends today

Today is the last day to claim Chatr’s $45/15GB student plan offer. The student offer ends on September 8th — if you haven’t taken advantage, now might be the time.

Typically, the Rogers flanker brand offers 5GB of data on its $45/mo plan, but until September 8th, new activations can get a bonus of 10GB of data per month for 12 months with the plan. That brings the plan up to 15GB of data. Granted, the data is limited to 3G speeds, but it’s still a good chunk of data for a decent price (by Canadian standards).

The $45 plan also includes unlimited Canada-wide talk and unlimited Canada, U.S., and international text. Customers who get auto-pay will also get an extra 500MB for a grand total of 15.5GB of data per month.

It’s worth noting that if your account becomes inactive or if you change the plan, the data bonus will expire.

Chatr isn’t the only wireless provider offering student deals. Fido, Koodo, and Virgin Plus are still offering $60/20GB plans with discounts to make them $55/mo for 12 months. Public Mobile and Lucky Mobile also still have $55/mo 20GB plans.

Public Mobile, Chatr offering 2GB bonus data for six months

Telus flanker brand Public Mobile and Rogers flanker brand Chatr are both offering 2GB of bonus data for six months on select plans.

Both carriers list the offer as available until July 18th, which gives you a couple of days to claim it (if you want). The main difference between the two is Public is offering the 2GB bonus on its new 4G plans (which start at $41.25/mo) while Chatr has the deal on its 3G plans starting at $35/mo.

While you have to get a slightly more expensive plan with Public Mobile, you also get the bonus of using 4G data, which should translate to much faster speeds (Public claims up to 30 times faster than its 3G plans).

Moreover, both providers will remove the data bonus if customers change their plan, so make sure you sign up with a plan you’ll want for at least six months. Additionally, the bonus will expire if the account becomes inactive.

Bell’s Lucky Mobile doesn’t currently offer a 2GB data bonus, but it does have a one-month free offer for those who sign up before July 18th.

Here are the outage credits offered by Rogers flanker brands and resellers

Following the nationwide July 8th Rogers network outage, the company promised it would credit customers the equivalent of two days’ worth of service. Rogers later upped that to a credit for five days’ worth of service.

However, Rogers’ network outage impacted more than just Rogers, so some might be wondering what — if any — credits will come down the pipe from their provider, whether that’s a flanker brand or reseller.

But before we get into it, it’s worth noting that no matter if you subscribe directly to Rogers or get services from another company, be aware of scams related to bill credits. So far, everyone that has offered a credit has said they will apply it automatically. If you get a text message or email asking you to do something to get the credit — like clicking a link — don’t do it.

Anyway, let’s get into it.

Fido

Rogers flanker brand Fido confirmed via its ‘Fido Solutions’ Twitter account that it would automatically credit customers five days’ worth of service following the outage.

Chatr

Similarly, Rogers flanker brand Chatr will offer customers five days’ worth of service as an automatic credit.

TekSavvy

Although TekSavvy resells Rogers internet in some regions, the provider hasn’t detailed plans to credit customers yet. When reached by MobileSyrup, TekSavvy indicated it didn’t have enough information about the situation to comment.

Oxio

In an email to customers (disclosure, I am one), Oxio said it would automatically apply a two-day pro-rated credit to customer bills starting on invoices dated after July 13th.

So far, this is just a short list of providers. MobileSyrup has reached out to some others but did not receive answers ahead of publication — the story will be updated with additional information as it becomes available. Rogers flanker brand Chatr is back with another ‘flash sale.’ This time around, the provider is offering 2GB of bonus per month for six months when you get a new plan.

Chatr’s offer is available for new activations of its plans starting at $35/mo. Like with previous offers from the provider, this one will expire if an account becomes inactive or if customers change their plan before the end of the six-month period. With that in mind, make sure to pick a plan that you’ll want to keep for at least six months.

The 2GB bonus is just one option for Chatr customers to boost their monthly data. Customers who sign up for Chatr’s auto-pay system also get a bonus 500MB of data per month. That stacks with the current 2GB offer, making it 2.5GB for the first six months.

Chatr’s flash sale runs until June 27th, but if you can’t take advantage of it this time around, it’s worth noting that the provider has similar offers to this available relatively often.

Rogers flanker brand Chatr Mobile brought back its 3GB bonus data offer. Like before, the deal will net new users 3GB of extra data each month for six months.

Customers who activate a new Chatr plan starting at $35/mo or higher will get the bonus data. It’s worth noting that the data will expire if an account becomes inactive or if customers change their plan, so make sure to pick a plan you’ll want to keep for six months.

The bonus data also stacks on Chatr’s auto-pay bonus, which adds an extra 500MB of data to plans. That means customers can boost their monthly data by a total of 3.5GB over the first six months they’re with Chatr.

Chatr’s 3GB bonus offer runs until June 21st. However, if you miss this one, Chatr tends to offer similar bonus data deals frequently. You can check out the offer here.

Chatr Mobile offering new customers one month of free service on all plans

Chatr Mobile is offering all new customers one month of free service.

The offer applies to all of Chatr’s talk, text, and data plans and the $15 a month talk and text plan.

This is a rarity for Chatr, as the company only occasionally puts promotional offers on its $25 a month talk, text and data plan or its talk and text plans.

The company frequently offers bonus data on all plans $35 a month and above, a currently active offer. 

This means new customers signing up for a plan priced at $35 a month and above will get 2GB of bonus data for 12 months and the credit for one month’s service.

But there are a couple of essential points to keep in mind. Both offers (bonus data and credit) expire today (June 1st). Customers can only apply the credit for a month’s fee on their third anniversary, meaning they must stick with the plan for three years.

Chatr Mobile is offering new customers an extra 2GB of bonus data every month for a year.

The deal applies to all talk, text, and data plans priced at $35 a month and higher, including the following:

  • 20GB for $70 a month
  • 15GB for $60 a month
  • 10GB for $50 a month
  • 4.5GB for $40 a month
  • 2.5GB for $35 a month

The bonus doesn’t apply to the $25 a month plan. The sale expires on June 1st.

Chatr Mobile is offering a flash sale featuring 3GB of bonus data for six months.

This flash sale is available until May 9th. Below are all of the offers:

  • $70 for 23GB with 500MB with autopay
  • $60 for 18GB with 500MB with autopay
  • $50 for 13GB with 500MB with autopay
  • $40 for 7.5GB with 500MB with autopay
  • $35 for 5.5GB with 500MB with autopay
  • $25 for 3.5GB with 500MB with autopay

After six months you’ll lose the extra 3GB of data, however.

These plans also come with unlimited Canada/US Talk, unlimited text, 3G speeds, voicemail and more. To clarify, the autopay bonus is when you sign up for automatic payment withdrawals from your debit or credit card accounts.

Chatr offers 2GB of bonus data in flash sale that expires April 18th

Chatr Mobile is offering 2GB of bonus data on select plans for the next four days.

The bonus data will apply for a six-month period. The offer expires on April 18th.

It’s available on the following plans:

  • 2.5 GB for $35/ month
  • 4.5GB for $40/ month
  • 10 GB for $50/ month
  • 15GB for $60/month
  • 20GB for $70/ month

The deal isn’t available on the 500MB $25/ month plan.

The flash sale appears to celebrate Vaisakhi, an important occasion for many following the Sikh and Hindu religions.

The Rogers flanker brand isn’t a stranger to such sales. The company recently offered a 3GB flash sale that ended March 31st and a 4GB sale that ended March 21st.
