Ukrainians displaced due to the war and arriving in Canada will now receive a prepaid Chatr mobile SIM card in their welcome kit and information about how to activate it.
Rogers is also waiving long-distance and SMS charges to Ukraine and roaming charges for any Canadian customers currently in the country.
Additionally, Rogers donated $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross and launched a text-to-donate campaign to offer support to the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis.

Over the weekend, Bell’s Lucky Mobile and Rogers’ Chatr Mobile launched flash sales offering customers 3GB of bonus data per month for six months.
Now, both flanker brands have added a free month, sweetening the offer.
Lucky’s website notes that customers can sign up and “get one month of free service.” According to the fine print, the free month is applied as a credit to customers’ second month of service and is based on the price of customers’ rate plan before tax.
Customers can get this alongside the six months of bonus data. Both offers end March 31st.
Chatr, on the other hand, extended its flash sale until April 1st. Along with the 3GB bonus data for six months, Chatr offers one month’s fee in credit. That credit will be applied on customers’ “third-anniversary date.”
Additionally, Chatr’s one-month free credit is available on some plans that the bonus data is not. To get the bonus data, you need to activate a $35/mo plan or higher, while the one-month credit is available on all Chatr plans.
At the time of publication, Telus’ Public Mobile had not offered a free month, but it was offering 2GB of bonus data per month for 12 months compared to Lucky’s and Chatr’s 3GB/mo for six months.

According to the Chatr website’s fine print, “new activations on Talk, Text & Data plans priced $35 and above” are eligible for the data bonus. However, the bonus will expire if customers’ accounts become inactive or if customers change their plan before the end of the six-month period.

It’s worth noting that all of Chatr’s plans include unlimited text to Canada, U.S., and International numbers, call display, call forwarding, and group calling. Plus, for customers who need just a little more data, subscribing to Chatr’s auto-pay service will give you an extra 500MB per month.
Moreover, Chatr had a flash sale last weekend as well where it offered 4GB of bonus data per month for four months. However, this deal is slightly better — you get 1GB less per month, but thanks to the extra two months the offer lasts, you end up with 4GB more data total.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that if you change your plan or if the account becomes inactive, Chatr will no longer give the credit.

Whether you pick the provider’s highest $70/mo plan, lowest $25/mo plan, or anything in between, you can claim a credit equal to one month’s fee.
To claim the credit, you’ll need to first activate a plan, then reply to a text message from Chatr sent after activation. Finally, you’ll need to keep the plan you activate for at least three bills — Chatr notes the credit will be applied on the third-anniversary date, and changing your plan will forfeit the credit.

Rogers flanker brand Chatr is back with some limited-time deals for the Lunar New Year. Until February 2nd, customers can get 2GB of bonus data per month for eight months plus one month’s “fee in credit.”
The offers apply to almost every plan, with the provider’s $25/mo plan being the only one excluded from the 2GB bonus. That plan does still qualify for the one-month free offer, however.
The 2GB bonus expires if an account becomes inactive or customers change their plan before the end of the eight-month period. The one-month free offer will apply a credit “equivalent to one month’s plan fee” to customers’ bills on the third-anniversary date. Again, Chatr says it won’t apply the credit if accounts become inactive or if users change plans.
It’s worth noting that Chatr has offered variations of the 2GB bonus for a while now (in December, it was 2GB/mo for six months). It appears the one-month free credit was added more recently on January 31st. You can view a full list of Chatr plans below:
