Chris Pratt seemed in great spirits just weeks before split

Chris Pratt was in "great spirits" when he was seen out just weeks before he announced his split from Anna Faris.

The news of the couple going their separate ways shocked fans including those who had seen the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star at the premiere and after-party for Aubrey Plaza’s new movie ‘Ingrid Goes West’.

One insider said: "He was friendly, outgoing and playful … I was surprised by how he looked to actually be having fun, and that he was there voluntarily."

Whilst another source added to People magazine: "Chris seemed different, like he was ‘free’ almost. He said no to pictures though, which is weird because he always likes to take photos with fans. But he was in great spirits and was mingling with everyone he knew, like Amy, Aubrey and that whole crew. They were together the whole night."

Chris and Anna – who share four-year-old son Jack – announced their split on Sunday (06.08.17) in a statement posted to Facebook.

It read: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

A similar post was shared on Anna’s Twitter account.

Only a few months prior, Chris had gushed about his wife Anna.

Speaking back in late April at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony, he said: "I want to thank my wife Anna, I love you. You’ve given me so much. You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy in my little boy, I love him and I love you.

"We have bonded to make this molecule that is more important to me than air or water, and without it none of this means anything to me. With every challenge, with every day, week, month, decade, we become more bonded."

Anna Faris spoke about ‘loneliness’ weeks before split

Anna Faris opened up about "loneliness" a week before splitting from Chris Pratt.

The couple – who have four-year-old son Jack – announced on Sunday night (06.08.17) they are "legally separating" after eight years of marriage, and the ‘Scary Movie’ star recently admitted she sometimes feels as though she "has to laugh" in life to keep up a "public character" persona.

Speaking on her ‘Unqualified’ podcast, she said: "I play a character on ‘Mom’, I play a character in movies, but I also play a public character.

"There’s definitely a loneliness and, like, an internal element to being a performer. I feel like I have to laugh.

"I play a public character. I laugh loud sometimes – maybe too loud but it is a public character sometimes. Like, if I have a red carpet thing or whatever, which I’m never comfortable, but I’m always like, ‘I’m fine!’ And it never feels like me."

The 40-year-old star also admitted weeks ago she finds it "tricky" differentiating between life on and off camera, and revealed Chris, 38, would often be working in the garage while she was watching TV.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "I don’t think that’s something, when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for.

"There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public. That’s the tricky part.

"Chris loves to work in the garage and I love to do laundry and watch reality television. Just normal people."

The pair posted similar statements on their respective social media accounts to announce their separation, but admitted they "still have love for each other".

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris to ‘legally separate’

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are "legally separating" after eight years of marriage.

The Hollywood couple – who share four-year-old son Jack – have announced they will be going their separate ways after nearly a decade of married life.

In a statement posted on Chris’ Facebook page, he said: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

A similar post was put up on Anna’s Twitter account.

The news of their separation will no doubt shock the pair’s fans as only a few months ago, Chris was gushing about his wife Anna.

With every challenge, with every day, week, month, decade, we become more bonded.

"You make me laugh like nobody else. You’re very caring, and thank you for your trust and your sacrifice – and for your dedication and your heart. I will do my best to protect it, and in return I will give you all of those things as well. You have my heart, my dedication, my trust.

"I’m a man of faith and I believe that God works in mysterious ways and gives us signs and gifts in life – and those gifts oftentimes come in the form of people. So I’ll just spend the rest of my time expressing gratitude for the people in my life who are gifts."

Jeremy Renner and Chris Pratt set up play dates

Jeremy Renner’s daughter has play dates with Chris Pratt’s son.

The 46-year-old actor has four-year-old daughter Ava with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco, and has said his house is conveniently situated near that of his ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ co-star Chris, who often brings over his four-year-old son Jack – whom he has with his wife Anna Faris – for play dates.

Jeremy said: "[Chris lives] right there next to me. Our kids play. They go to the same school … They have a good time together."

And 38-year-old Chris isn’t the only neighbour from the Marvel movie franchise that Jeremy has either, as he also lives within walking distance of ‘Captain America’ star Chris Evans and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ actress Elizabeth Olsen.

The star told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "She’s [Elizabeth’s] like my neighbour. She lives around the corner from me, so I see her all the time. [Evans lives] right up the road."

Meanwhile, ‘The Bourne Legacy’ actor recently said becoming a father to Ava gave him "the gift of focus" and claimed it was the "best role he has had to date".

He said: "On the surface, she’s given me the greatest gift in life: the gift of focus and undeniable clarity of what I really want. It’s what real, true, unconditional love is. Say there’s an Oscar on my shelf. Well, that Oscar is not going to be there at my deathbed. My daughter will be. She’s blessed me with thoughts and wisdom about life. It’s a really wonderful gift.

"And now I have the opportunity where I have the luxury of spending a lot of time with Ava, and I want to. Being a father is the best role to date. There’s nothing that’s going to trump it. And that’s a wonderful feeling, to be so secure about what I want to do and what I want to be."

Anna Faris ‘fascinated’ by son

Anna Faris is "fascinated" by her son.

The 40-year-old actress has four-year-old son Jack with her husband and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Chris Pratt, and has said the most "rewarding" thing about being a parent is being able to watch her son "become a person".

She said: "It’s just so fascinating watching him become a person. It’s so rewarding."

But the ‘Scary Movie’ actress finds disciplining Jack difficult, as he’s inherited his parents’ sense of humour and she can’t help but laugh at him.

She added: "I try [to discipline him] but I can’t help but laugh. He’ll be like, ‘Mom, I have cheese foot! My foot smells like cheese!’ He’s so funny!"

Although Jack is still young, Anna says he’s starting to figure out what his famous parents do for a living, especially when he sees billboards of 38-year-old Chris.

Speaking to People magazine, Anna said: "He’s definitely coming around [to understanding our jobs]. We’ll drive past a billboard of Chris for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and Jack will be like, ‘Hey, Dad!’"

Meanwhile Anna recently opened up about her fear when she took her son to the premiere of ‘The Emoji Movie’, as she was anxious about the scale of the event.

She said: "I guess he loves attention just like mommy. But it does feel like, ‘Am I doing the right thing as a parent?’ It’s also terrifying to bring your kid to such a public event."

Chris, however, previously said having his son with him on a recent promotional tour helped bring him "back down to Earth".

He said: "That has been the best part of this world tour by far. It’s nice to have your family with you because it brings you down to earth and when you leave your feet on the ground, you realise what it feels like to have your head in the clouds.

"You go with the flow and things come and go and you’re not even there to record or observe them. So when your family bring you back down to earth you get to experience this – or at least I do – in a while different way. When they are present with me, I get to be present with me as well."

Anna Faris was terrified taking son to premiere

Anna Faris was "terrified" about bringing her son to a movie premiere.

The 40-year-old actress was joined by her four-year-old son Jack on the blue carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Emoji Movie’ and she admits she was nervous about taking him to such a big event.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "I guess he loves attention just like mommy. But it does feel like, ‘Am I doing the right thing as a parent?’ It’s also terrifying to bring your kid to such a public event."

It comes after Chris Pratt – who has Jack with Anna – previously revealed it was great to have his wife and son with him on a recent promotional tour and says it has brought him "back down to earth" as he admitted being a movie star can sometimes make you feel like you’ve got your "head in the clouds".

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris set for The Only Way Is Essex tour

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are set for a tour of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ this month.

The ‘Passengers’ star – who has been married to the ‘House Bunny’ actress since 2009 – previously revealed they are massive fans of the ITVBe reality series, and the 37-year-old hunk has consulted the production team on his forthcoming film ‘Jurassic World’ to sort them out with a "VIP tour" of all of the shooting locations for the show, which is filmed in Brentwood, Essex.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Chris and Anna have got even more ‘Towie’ obsessed after watching the recent series.

"They never miss an episode.

"They’ve asked a production member of his movie, who knows Essex, to give them a VIP tour of where all the filming takes place.

"The show is a huge guilty pleasure for them both."

Chris previously revealed watching ‘TOWIE’ with his wife meant he was able to perfect his Essex accent.

In 2015, he said: "When I was filming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in the UK we watched a lot of garbage TV and my wife [Anna Faris] went crazy for TOWIE. She fell in love with the show and I started picking up the accent so now the only British one I can do is an Essex one."

Meanwhile, Chris recently paid tribute to his wife at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Last month, he received his own star in Hollywood and he gave a gushing speech about Anna and their son Jack, four.

He said: "I want to thank my wife Anna, I love you. You’ve given me so much. You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy in my little boy, I love him and I love you."

Chris Pratt doesn’t take selfies with fans

Chris Pratt refuses to take selfies with fans.

The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor – who has four-year-old son Jack with his ‘House Bunny’ actress wife Anna Faris – has admitted he doesn’t like to take photos with people on the streets because he has to be more "economical with [his] time".

The 37-year-old hunk says he has learnt over the years how to be "comfortable disappointing people".

Asked why he doesn’t take pictures with his admirers, he told the latest issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine: "I’ve always been a pretty deferential, go-with-the-flow guy. But now I have to be economical with my time. If I go out and want to do normal things, I have to be comfortable disappointing people. So I just don’t take pictures with people. Because that’s not about enjoying the moment; it’s about stealing the moment to brag about later. So I say, ‘Would you settle for a handshake?’ And then they take the picture anyway."

Chris looks back fondly on a time when he was able to chat to people he doesn’t know who have no preconceptions about him.

On what he misses the most about his former life away from the spotlight, he admitted: "It’s tough sometimes, the amount of management you need to do on things you used to do spontaneously. What I really miss is sitting down and talking to strangers who don’t know me, so we can discover each other. I’d say the majority of people I meet have an idea about me before they meet me. There’s something nice to being able to surprise somebody."

Chris Pratt’s son is a huge Marvel fan

Chris Pratt’s son is a "huge" Marvel fan.

The 37-year-old actor is currently promoting his new movie from the comic book franchise, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, and says his four-year-old son Jack – whom he has with his actress wife Anna Faris – is impressed by what his dad does for a living.

He said: "He’s a huge movie fan and a Marvel fan and he gets it. He sits through movies. He loves the story.

You know, we’re just mom and dad at home but on TV, we get to be heroes."

Despite being such a big admirer of his father’s films, Chris hasn’t shown him the latest movie but he said he was at home watching the first one.

He added: "In fact, he’s at home right now with his babysitter watching the first one."

The hunky star was then quizzed on how the youngster is coping with his parents being in the spotlight, and he said it’s just something he’s going to have to get used to.

He told ET Canada: "It’s his world. He’s growing up in the circus whether he likes it or not."

Chris was joined at the premiere of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Wednesday (04.19.17) with his wife Anna and she gushed about how "in awe" she is of her husband’s acting.

She said: "I’m in awe. On the way here I was so much more nervous than Chris was … I felt like I’ve always known he’s a brilliant actor. And now I feel like the rest of the world is getting to see that. I’m so thrilled about this movie."

Chris recently said having his wife and son with him on the promotional tour has brought him "back down to earth", as he admitted being a movie star can sometimes feel like you’ve got your "head in the clouds".

He said: "That has been the best part of this world tour by far. It’s nice to have your family with you because it brings you down to earth and when you leave your feet on the ground, you realise what it feels like to have your head in the clouds.

Chris Pratt’s family keep him grounded

Chris Pratt’s family keep him grounded.

The 37-year-old actor’s wife Anna Faris and their four-year-old son Jack came with him on the long promotion tour for his new movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ and he says having them with him brought him "back down to earth", as he admits being a movie star can sometimes feel like you’ve got your "head in the clouds".

On having his small family with him, he said: "That has been the best part of this world tour by far. It’s nice to have your family with you because it brings you down to earth and when you leave your feet on the ground, you realise what it feels like to have your head in the clouds.

"You go with the flow and things come and go and you’re not even there to record or observe them.

"So when your family bring you back down to earth you get to experience this – or at least I do – in a while different way. When they are present with me, I get to be present with me as well."

The ‘Passengers’ star – who plays superhero Star-Lord in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy – also spoke of his bond with his co-star and on-screen father in the the eagerly-anticipated second instalment of the Marvel movie, Kurt Russell.

On how he avoided becoming a fan with the acting legend – who portrays his parent Ego the Living Planet – Chris told ET Canada: "You learn to sort of be cool.

"I think ultimately the best part is moving past that stuff, which both he and I understand is pretty meaningless. So we moved right past that almost immediately and got into things like our personal connection with similar passions we share."

The pair have a shared love of the "outdoors".

He said: "We’re both outdoorsmen, we like to fish and hunt and get outside.

"There are a lot of similarities there and things we can relate to. We’re just two guys that met on the subway, you know!"

The hunky star also joked that they both chose the same partners in Anna and Goldie Hawn and gushed that the latter is "super-hot".

He quipped: "He’s married to a super-hot blonde comedian, so we had that similarity! Goldie Hawn didn’t come to set, but I had the opportunity to meet her a couple of times and she’s great."
