Check out this Google Bluetooth tracker concept with a totally (in)appropriate name

Following rumours about Google’s upcoming AirTag-like Bluetooth tracker codenamed ‘Grogu,’ a concept imagining what the tracker could be like envisions a world where nerds can actually find the G Spot.

A mockup product page designed by Obi Fidler shows off what the ‘Grogu’ tracker could be like. The mockup looks ripped straight from Google’s own web store and is well worth checking out since it’s full of cool animations.

Aside from the ‘G Spot’ name, the concept actually makes a lot of sense. The tracker looks a lot like an AirTag, except it comes in various Google colours (‘Chalk,’ ‘Charcoal,’ ‘Sage,’ ‘Sand,’ and ‘Sky’). Instead of a boring plastic top, it has a fabric material. It almost looks like a tiny Nest Mini.

The product mockup page details various features of the G Spot — interlaced with jokes about finding it — that mostly sound like what you’d actually get from a Google tracker. That includes things like Google Assistant support so you can say things like “Hey Google, find my keys,” Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) support, integrations with Google’s Find My Device app, augmented reality (AR) support to help users find their G Spot, and more.

The concept also highlights a replaceable battery that lasts all year and a case shaped like a Google Maps pin. Perhaps the most dubious part of the concept (beyond the name) is the suggestion that the G Spot would run on Google’s Tensor chip. I’d expect the G Spot would run on a lower-power chip than Tensor, although I could see Google debuting a new low-power chip for trackers with Tensor branding.

Anyway, you can check out the whole concept on Behance.

Hyundai shows off concept EVs, hints at Ioniq 5 N coming in 2023

Hyundai unveiled two new performance electric vehicles (EVs) and confirmed a sportier version of its Ioniq 5 is set to arrive next year.

Detailed at what the company called “N Day 2022,” the new vehicles will be part of its high-performance ‘N’ sub-brand. First up, there’s the Ioniq 5 N set to release in 2023. Hyundai didn’t reveal much about the Ioniq 5 N beyond the 2023 release.

Gear Patrol suggests the 5 N will be a sportier take on Hyundai’s new Ioniq 5, including hopes that it will perform similarly to the Kia EV6 GT, which boasts 577 horsepower (hp), 546 lb-ft of torque and can accelerate from 0-60mph (about 0-97km/h) in 3.5 seconds.

Hyundai called the other two performance cars “rolling lab” concept vehicles. While that likely means they won’t be available for consumers, Hyundai executive vice president and head of customer experience Thomas Schemera said they “play an important role in the strategic development of our entire product lineup, especially our electrified, high-performance vehicles.”

First up is the RN22e concept based on the just-released Ioniq 6 (which Hyundai seems to think is a portable home office). Gear Patrol says the RN22e likely hints at a future Ioniq 6 N. The RN22e runs on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and boasts the same 577hp and 546 lb-ft electric motor as the EV6 GT, plus an estimated top speed of over 155mph (about 250km/h).

By using the E-GMP platform, the RN22e should offer the ability to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes with the right charger.

The other rolling lab Hyundai unveiled is the hydrogen fuel cell hybrid N Vision 74, sporting a retro design throwing back to the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept from 1974. The N Vision 75 boasts 671hp, 664 lb-ft torque and can also hit a top speed over 155mph (250km/h).

You can learn more about the new N concepts on Hyundai’s website.

Lindsay Lohan sued for 60m

Lindsay Lohan is being sued for over $60 million.

A website developer has filed a case against the ‘Mean Girls’ actress and her brother Michael in which he accused them of stealing one of his ideas.

According to Fima Potik, the pair agreed to work with him on Spotted Friend – which would give users a glimpse into celebrities’ closets – but then took the idea to another investor and launched an app called Vigme, which he describes as a ”carbon copy” of his website.

According to TMZ, the developer claims he received a text message from Michael saying he wanted a bigger cut of the company or else.

Potik is seeking over $60 million in damages and wants Vigme to be shut down.

Meanwhile, Lindsay’s friends The Wanted have pledged to keep an eye on the troubled star while she gets her career back on track starring in London stage show ‘Speed-the-Plow’.

Tom Parker told The Sun newspaper: ”I chatted to her a couple of days ago because I saw a photo of her in a newspaper staggering out of a nightclub.

”I wanted to check she was OK, so I asked her what she was doing.

”She told me she had simply fallen over and I was like, ‘Really?’

”She’s had a rough time but she’s a sweet girl and a great actress.

”None of us want to see her go back to that dark place.”

Earlier this week, the 28-year-old actress – who previously dated The Wanted’s Max George – missed a matinee performance of the show after falling ill, but despite warning fans she was ”down for the count” and would also miss the evening show, she made it on stage for the second performance of the day.

Coldplay’s 2011 release to be a concept album

Coldplay will release a concept album in 2011, revealed Chris Martin, lead singer of the English alt rock band.

“It’s from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost. Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together," explained Martin to BBC News.

The as-yet-unnamed album will be produced once again by Brian Eno and Marcus Dravs – both worked on the band’s last album, 2008’s Viva la Vida.

"Brian is the sower of seeds and ideas and experimenting, which is very liberating. Then Marcus’s job is to come in after all that’s been done and try and sculpt it into some kind of releasable format. They’re like a tag team,” said Martin.

On December 1, Coldplay released the holiday single Christmas Lights, available as a digital download, and debuted 25th on Billboard’s Hot 100. The holiday single will not be appearing on their new album.

As previously reported, Chris Martin has recently said that he sees the band’s fifth LP "as our last big shot."

A Bigger Prius on the Way

According to Japanese paper Yomiuri Shimbun, Toyota is working on a Prius variant.

The hybrid would run off a lithium-ion battery pack that is more powerful and more compact than the former Prius battery system.

The new model would be a family wagon or a crossover utility vehicle ranging in prices of around 24 000 CAD, according to the newspaper.

The idea of the variant based on the brand’s first hybrid car gives reason to believe that Toyota may be considering branching the Prius off into its own green subdivision, like Nissan has done with Infiniti.

The Toyota Prius variant is set to arrive on the market at the end of 2010.

Infiniti Introduces Forest Air

Beginning in 2011, the Infiniti M will be equipped with the Forest Air climate system, which will control odour and humidity in the cabin.

The Forest Air system uses a Plasmacluster electronic air purifier to filter and eliminate odours.  Not only can the system get rid of smells stuck on interior seats, but it can even remove the smell of the wet dog that was in your car for the past week.

According to Infiniti, the system also fights bacteria, moulds, yeasts and allergens.  In conclusion, the Japanese automaker is now offering their clients the opportunity to take in the fresh air of the forest, even when they’re stuck in a city traffic jam!

Infiniti Goes Green

After taking the first step with the M Hybrid, Infiniti is continuing to develop a range of environmentally-friendly vehicles.

The brand’s parent company, Nissan, has already introduced the Leaf, which is an electric version of the NV200.

For Infiniti, Ghosn teased the crowd by confirming that a stylish and luxurious electric car with seats for 4 is in the works.  Perhaps it will be a production of the gasoline concept, Essence, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009.

A New Concept from Honda

The automaker’s president confirmed during a press conference that the final version of the concept will be presented at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

The Honda CR-Z will be marketed in Japan in February, and soon afterwards, around the globe.  North America should see its first models arriving in the second half of 2010.

A model very close to the concept is being presented now in Japan.  The main differences from the retail version are details such as the blue light.  However, the most notable change concerns a second row of seats, which will disappear once the car heads for production.

So the car will be a small, 2-seater coupe, powered by a hybrid system.  The CR-Z is the perfect complement to the environmentally friendly Honda Insight and Civic hybrids.  The CR-Z will be the first sports-oriented vehicle with this propulsion method.

The Land Glider To Hit the Streets

It’s a possibility that the Japanese automaker is seriously contemplating. They believe that the Land Glider provides an alternative to customers who want to have the motorcycle-riding experience while not having to fear for their safety.

It would also act as an efficient means of transportation, and a more practical and ecological solution for big, congested cities.

The Land Glider would take on the Infiniti logo, and would be marketed worldwide, including in the United States.

Nissan Presents the Land Glider

Nissan is keen to emphasize that the Land Glider is not just a design study, but an excellent marker of the trends of tomorrow.  And if we’re to believe Nissan, then the car of the future may be more of a bike.

The Land Glider concept features two seats, one behind another, and measures only 1.1 metres wide.  Another similarity to bikes or motorcycles is that the concept leans when cornering.  The wheels are capable of leaning up to 17 degrees, depending on dynamic behaviour and compensation for weight distribution.

The Land Glider is propelled by two electric motors, powered by batteries placed under the floor.  It is also equipped with an entirely electronic sensor system that can detect other vehicles in its path.
