David Beckham: I kiss all my kids on the lips

David Beckham kisses all of his children on the lips.

The 42-year-old retired soccer star was recently criticised for posting an Instagram shot of himself kissing his five-year-old daughter Harper on the lips – but David has admitted he does the same with all of his kids.

David – who also has sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, with his wife Victoria – shared: "I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips."

But on reflection, David admitted Brooklyn may have grown a bit too old to receive a peck from his dad.

He explained: "Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange.

"But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.

"We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them."

Meanwhile, David also revealed his three sons have already developed a protective attitude towards their little sister.

The ex-soccer star confessed he’s dreading the day Harper starts dating, but he knows the boys will be on hand to help him out.

David said: "Luckily, she’s got three older brothers as well. So once she starts dating, that person will have to go through an inspection with her brothers [and] her dad. It’ll be tough."

And despite the stresses of parenthood, David relishes the challenge.

Speaking in a Facebook Live, David said: "Having children is the most special thing in the world.

"You don’t love any of them any more than any of the others. It’s just different, you know. The boys are very protective over her, and obviously so am I, as you can tell."

Brooklyn Beckham ready for name jokes when he gets to NYC

Brooklyn Beckham is constantly teased about his unusual name.

The 18 year old will be moving to New York City in September this year to study photography at college, an irony that is not lost on him as his world famous parents David and Victoria Beckham chose that odd moniker for him as it was the NYC district where he was conceived.

Brooklyn is ready for the endless Brooklyn jokes once he enrolls and accepts it’s something he’s just going to have to live with.

In an interview with Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio Breakfast Show, he said: "When I go for pizza – that’s all I eat in New York – they’re kinda like, ‘What’s your name?’ I’m like, ‘Brooklyn,’ and they’re like, ‘Huh?’ Then they’re like, ‘Oh, that’s a cool name.’ Then people always ask if I’m gonna live in Brooklyn when I’m older. And I’m like…"

Interrupting his guest to make a joke about his parents’ phenomenal wealth, a laughing Nick blurted out "No, Manhattan, darling!"

Brooklyn admits he is nervous about relocating as he will be living in a different country from his family – which includes his brothers Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and five-year-old sister Harper – for the first time, but it’s the best move for him for his career plan.

The ambitious teen is especially unhappy that he will not be able to give his laundry to his mother Victoria, 43.

He said: "Um … I’m a bit nervous, but I just can’t wait. I feel like from September I can properly start my photography career. That’s where I wanna be based for my photography. So I am excited."

Brooklyn Beckham determined to prove himself

Brooklyn Beckham is determined to prove himself as a photographer with his upcoming book ‘What I See’ and show the world he doesn’t want to just trade off his famous dad’s name.

The budding 18-year-old photographer will unveil his tome, a collection of 300 images he has shot in the world, on Thursday (06.29.17) and he is well aware that his work will be severely scrutinized because his parents are David and Victoria Beckham.

Although he readily accepts that he is "lucky" to have had a privileged upbringing and has already been afforded opportunities that most teenagers can only dream of, Brooklyn is determined to make his own name in his chosen profession.

Speaking to Yahoo Celeb UK, he said: "I know there are a lot of preconceptions about me associated with my name, and that’s understandable. I’m a bit nervous but I think anyone would be. I hope with this book and with the photographs I’ve been taking over the past few years people will see that I really do genuinely love it. The title says it all – it really is a snapshot into what I see."

Brooklyn’s interest in photography became serious just a few years ago and after his dad David, 42, bought him a camera he began to learn about the whole process.

He added: "When I moved back to London I was looking at my GCSE options and photography really stood out. My dad had bought me a camera and I started using it and realized how much I love the whole process – from taking the pictures to editing and developing – and I just started taking photos the whole time. I have just been really unbelievably lucky to have been given this opportunity to publish a book and have an exhibition [at Christies, Mayfair]. I didn’t go seeking it and so now I plan to carry on with my studies and work experience. I am going to study photography in New York and I have been doing intern work for some of the most inspiring fashion photographers."

Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, have also both benefited from ‘Brand Beckham’, with the teenager modeling for Burberry, whilst Cruz has already released a pop single. The boys’ sister Harper, five, has seen her mother Victoria, 43, trademark her name in the UK and Europe.

Brooklyn, who is going to university in September to study a course in photography, is hosting a book signing at a top secret location in Manchester this week to launch ‘What I See’.

David and Victoria Beckham set to watch Ed Sheeran at Glastonbury

David and Victoria Beckham will be among the crowd for Ed Sheeran’s headline set at Glastonbury.

The flame-haired singer has revealed that the retired soccer star and the fashion designer will watch him in action at the world-famous festival, where Ed hopes to spend some time with the couple.

Ed – who is dating hockey star Cherry Seaborn – said: "Victoria and David are coming down. They got tickets separately.

"They were going anyway but I think I’ll see them at some point.

"Basically all of my tickets went to every single aunt and uncle, cousin, cousin’s wife, cousin’s husband, cousin’s kids and all of Cherry’s family and all of our school mates."

Ed, 26, is a friend and a neighbour of the Beckhams.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he shared: "We live really, really near each other.

"We met in New York. I was with Cherry and we just went somewhere and made friends. They’re really cool. I like them."

As well as starring at Glastonbury, Ed is currently working on making a movie.

The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker intends to appear in the film and he would love to have Academy Award-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren star alongside him.

Ed – who also plans to write the music for his movie – said: "I mean the movie is in the works but I don’t have any time to shoot it until 2019.

"Well, there have been talks about another leading role in it like a love interest.

"I would love someone unknown, but I have always loved Helen Mirren.

"Yeah, if like me and Helen could do a love scene – I guess that sounds weird, doesn’t it? But I’m not really a good actor and she’s a very good actress so I don’t think she’d want to do it."

David Beckham wanted to be with Brooklyn for his tattoo

David Beckham stopped his son getting a tattoo because he wasn’t with him.

The 42-year-old retired soccer star – who has a number of inkings himself – had always made 18-year-old Brooklyn "promise" he could be with him when he got inked for the first time, so after being tipped off by a friend in Paris, France, that his eldest child was planning a secret body art session, he quickly intervened.

He said: "He was with his girlfriend in Paris, and one of my friends called me that was looking after him there and said, ‘It’s not coming from me, but Brooklyn is in a tattoo shop with his girlfriend.

"And he’d always promised me, and I always said to him, ‘Your first tattoo, if you’re gonna have one, your first tattoo, I want to be there just to experience it as a dad.

"That was the deal… So I called him, I FaceTimed him, and I said, ‘What are you doing mate?’ And he said, ‘I’m just going for dinner.’ And I was like, ‘Are you sure you’re going for dinner?’ And he was like, ‘Actually dad, I’m in a tattoo place. I was thinking about having something, I’m with my girlfriend.’

"I was like, ‘OK, you’re more than welcome to have it but you remember you promised me, and I’m your dad and I would feel really upset if you actually went through with it,’ so he didn’t. Thankfully he waited."

And David – who also has Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and five-year-old Harper with wife Victoria – admitted Brooklyn had been waiting a very long time before being allowed to get inked after turning 18 in March.

Speaking to James Corden on ‘The Late, Late Show’, he said: "There’s absolutely nothing I can say. He’s got two. He was 18 pretty recently, and he was counting the days down because he talked about having a tattoo for a long time."

For his first tattoo, the aspiring photographer opted to have a Native American chief etched onto his forearm, a design which David has on his side, by legendary tattoo artist Mark Mahoney, the owner and principal artist at Hollywood’s Shamrock Social Club.

Brooklyn shared a photo on Instagram and wrote: "Honoured to have my first tattoo done by dads friend Mark Mahoney(sic)," and added: "Thank you so much Mark x just like dads.(sic)"

A few days later, the teenager had a camera inked on his upper left arm.

David Beckham surprises dads ahead of Father’s Day

David Beckham surprised a group of dads by making an unannounced appearance at an event in London on Tuesday (06.06.17) to celebrate Father’s Day.

The retired soccer star was joined at the bash, hosted by Haig Club and Selfridges, by his dad Ted, and his wife Victoria’s father and brother, Tony and Christian.

The group chatted to guests at a cocktail masterclass in the UK capital and David – who has Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and Harper, five, with Victoria – shared his own experiences of fatherhood.

During a conversation about his long-term hopes for his children, he shared: "As a father you want them to be passionate about something, you want them to love what they do and you want them to love what they do."

David admitted to being extremely grateful towards his own parents for their love and support over the years.

Looking forward to Father’s Day on June 18, David explained: "I wouldn’t have achieved what I have achieved in my career or my life, without the support from my parents."

The retired sportsman also revealed he loves nothing more than spending quality time with his family.

He explained: "Time with the kids is the most important thing to me."

Meanwhile, David previously said his parents have been a key part of his success.

The 42-year-old star – who hails from humble beginnings in London – explained: "My motivation comes from my working-class parents who gave their life for their kids. My parents worked hard for us and we’re fortunate to have parents who worked as hard as they did.

"My mum would take us to school, pick us up from school, cook us dinner, put us to bed then clients would come over and she’d cut their hair. That’s where my work ethic comes from."

James Corden reveals changes to The Late Late Show

James Corden has made last-minute changes to ‘The Late Late Show’ in London following the recent terrorist attack.

The 38-year-old TV host has admitted to scrapping a number of ideas for the week-long residency in the UK capital "after what happened here this weekend" and also revealed that the comedic tone would need to be tweaked in recognition of the attack.

He told ET Online: "We don’t know what we’re going to do.

"Maybe it’s a good time to being doing a show like this to show the world the unbelievable spirit and determination and strength of this great city. It’s a beautiful place to be."

During his stay in London, James is set to interview the likes of Tom Cruise and David Beckham, while Ed Sheeran will also be starring in a new episode of ‘Carpool Karaoke’.

James said he relishes spending time with Tom, admitting he’s in "love" with the Hollywood star.

He shared: "When I’m with him I don’t know whether to shake his hand or lick his face. I’m so in love with him."

Meanwhile, James previously admitted he is "very very humbled" by the success of ‘The Late Late Show’.

He said: "I just wanted to make the best show I could, you know? I felt like we had a good team and the only positive you can take is you’re not starting on a negative.

"I feel very, very humbled by it. I’m very proud of the two years we’ve had. I think it surpassed anybody’s hopes or estimations of what we could have achieved.

"Now that people know what the show is [it’s easier]. I think when we launched our first week, we didn’t have anyone booked for week two because people were like, ‘I don’t know who this guy is. Slowly but surely, we’ve been able to turn that around and I feel like we’re now a place where people want to come and they want to come back and that’s lovely."

Victoria Beckham praises David’s cameo in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Victoria Beckham has praised her husband David’s cameo in ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’.

The fashion designer took to social media during the premiere of the new Guy Ritchie film in London on Wednesday (05.10.17) and expressed how proud she was of the soccer player’s first speaking film role.

On Twitter, the 43-year-old star wrote: "So proud of @davidbeckham! (sic)"

David, 42, was joined on the red carpet by his 18-year-old son Brooklyn and said at the premiere: "The good thing about working with Guy is that he’s a good friend of mine. He looked after me in many different ways. I trust him.

"My role is pretty small in this and I had one or two lines. I’ve been around Guy’s movies before and it’s a great place to be. You kind of love that community feel."

Becks was joined by a number of the cast members, including Poppy Delevingne and Charlie Hunnam, who stars in the leading role in the movie.

Speaking at the premiere, Charlie, 37, said: "It was lovely working with Beckham, he did an amazing job.

"He is very quiet and humble and serious."

‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ marks David’s second appearance in a movie directed by his good friend, but is the first time he has a speaking role and the director says he was "fantastic".

Guy shared: "He was fantastic, I love old Becksy. He is a fabulous actor and real pleasure to be with."

David underwent a total transformation for his on-screen role in ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’, sitting in the make-up chair to get a huge facial scar and rotten teeth to ensure he looked the part.

Charlie Hunnam does one thousand push-ups a day

Charlie Hunnam did one thousand push-ups a day in preparation for ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’.

The 37-year-old actor plays the titular role in Guy Ritchie’s medieval fantasy film, which also stars David Beckham, Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou, and the American hunk has claimed he would complete multiple sets of the common calisthenics exercise to get in shape for the movie, although "some days" he had to do much less after a long day on set.

The British heartthrob told E! News: "I mean there were some days I didn’t hit the goal and I would try to recoup the next day.

"On the days where I was fighting 14-hours a day, I let myself off and went home, and said ‘Okay, let’s knock a zero off this equation – 100 is good enough for today."

However, the 48-year-old filmmaker believes Charlie is not being entirely truthful, and he has revealed the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star can only do a slight fraction of his whopping 1,000 and will take a "half an hour break" in between.

Guy explained: "I got to tell you, 1000 push-ups? Not so much. You’ll get 50 out of him at the most! And there’s like a half an hour break."

Charlie has also admitted he feels "happier, more energized and disciplined" when he’s exercising.

Speaking previously about his workouts, Charlie – whose full name is Charles – said: "It’s important for me to keep moving. We’re supposed to be active animals. It’s in our DNA. Sweating is how I change my oil.

"I just feel happier, more energized and disciplined if I work out.

Ultimately I train a lot every day because I’m f***ing crazy."

‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ is set to hit the big screens on Friday (05.12.17).
