Shawn Mendes recalls ‘terrifying’ scuffle with Drake’s security

Shawn Mendes feared he was going to be jailed after being involved in a scuffle with Drake’s security.

The 19-year-old singer went to hang out with the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker at The Weeknd’s concert in Toronto, having previously met him on two other occasions, but Shawn was instantly stopped in his tracks by Drake’s guards.

Speaking about the altercation on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, the ‘Stitches’ singer recalled: "We’re up on this riser and Drake’s also there watching the show along with another few artists. I was like, ‘I’m going to go say hi, he must remember me.’

"So I go over to him and touch his side. Next thing I know I’m in the middle of The Weeknd show with my arm hooked behind my back. Drake’s security guard has me completely at his mercy."

The star remembers looking over at Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, and pleading with him to remember his face.

And within the time it took Drake to remember the star and allow his security to let him pass, Shawn feared he was going be locked up.

He explained: "I see Drake look over, my eyes I knew it was like, ‘Help me, please Drake.’

"In that moment, if he didn’t know who I was it would’ve been the most embarrassing, I don’t know what I would’ve done. I would’ve been in jail."

Thankfully, Shawn was eventually released by the security guards, although he still found the entire ordeal "terrifying".

The singer added: "For the security guard’s sake, he was doing his job, but still it was terrifying. Don’t expect everybody to know who you are."

Demi Rose: I’m happy being single

Demi Rose is happily single.

The 22-year-old model – who previously dated rap star Tyga – has rubbished rumours she’s recently been seeing Drake, but has admitted she’s open to finding new love.

She shared: "I’m happy being single but if someone comes along he just has to fit in with my busy life, really. Who knows?"

Demi and Drake were recently spotted leaving the same London club, which prompted speculation they were dating.

But the brunette beauty has insisted it was merely a coincidence.

Speaking to MailOnline, Demi explained: "He was around. It wasn’t a date. I think I said a few things to him but it wasn’t a date."

Demi was also recently seen holding hands with DJ Tom Zanetti as they filmed the music video for his track ‘More & More’.

But she insisted the duo were simply putting on a display of affection for the benefit of the cameras.

The British model said: "There was speculation we were dating but we weren’t, we were just holding hands and acting like a couple for the video."

Demi has become a worldwide star on the back of her eye-catching Instagram posts.

And the curvaceous brunette revealed she needs two personal trainers in order to keep her enviable figure in shape.

She said: "I try to keep as healthy as I can. With travelling, it’s hard to work out, I travel across the world but try to keep my routine.

"Everyone says I’m the healthiest person I know. The fattiest thing I will ever eat is nuts and peanut butter.

"My figure just gains weight so fast. I’m 5ft 2in. Any bad thing I eat my body isn’t used to it and just puts on the weight. That means no birthday cake!

"All I’ve eaten today is nuts. I’ve managed to eat a whole pot. I feel guilty as there’s a lot of fat in the nuts that’s my treat! So I’m happy!"

Demi Lovato to sing national anthem at Mayweather-McGregor

Demi Lovato will sing the US national anthem at Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s epic boxing bout.

The 25-year-old star will take to the stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday (26.08.17) to belt out the iconic ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ tune ahead of one of sport’s most hotly-anticipated events of all time between the professional boxer and the UFC fighter.

A tweet on the account of Mayweather Promotions – of which Floyd is president – read: ".@ddlovato set to sing the National Anthem prior to Floyd & Conor making their way to the stage on fight night! (sic)"

TV channel Showtime also tweeted: "Excited to have #Grammy nominated and multi-platinum global artist @ddlovato sing the National Anthem at #MayweatherMcGregor! (sic)"

Demi confirmed the news by retweeting both of the messages on her own Twitter account, and it won’t be the first time she has performed the US national anthem.

The raven-haired star sang the famous tune at game four of Major League Baseball’s 2015 World Series, game five of the 2011 World Series and at an American football game involving the Dallas Cowboys in 2008.

But it will be the first time she has performed the song at a boxing match.

Demi will be joined by a host of stars at the so-called "Fight of the Century", including Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Drake, Denzel Washington and L.L. Cool J.

Some celebs are expected to arrive in Vegas earlier this week, and that certainly seems to be Demi’s plan.

She tweeted: "See you on Thursday in Vegas?? We’re shooting something special with @MTV (sic)"

Actor Jamie Foxx, basketball sensation LeBron James and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine are also expected to attend the fight.

The bout is particularly eagerly anticipated because it will see undefeated boxer Mayweather taken on an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star in McGregor, in what will be the Irishman’s first fight as a professional boxer.

Angelina Jolie set for Mayweather v McGregor fight

Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are among the stars expected to attend Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s epic boxing bout.

The ‘Tomb Raider’ actor and the ‘Mad Max’ star are planning to descend on Las Vegas on August 26 for what has been billed as the fight of the century, as are the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Drake, Denzel Washington and L.L. Cool J.

According to TMZ Sports, several stars will have front row and centre seats at the T-Mobile Arena in Sin City, with actor Jamie Foxx, basketball sensation LeBron James and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine expected to be among them.

Some stars will no doubt head to Vegas earlier in the week before the fight, and others may not even have tickets but plan to watch the action at parties at nearby venues.

One singer who may be in attendance is Justin Bieber, who is known to be good friends with Mayweather.

However, the ‘Never Say Never’ hitmaker recently insisted he doesn’t think is pal will knock out UFC fighter McGregor.

Quizzed on whether he thinks Mayweather will deliver an ultimate blow to McGregor, he said: "I don’t think so. I think it’ll be a good fight."

Justin praised Mayweather – who is thought to be dating British reality TV star Abi Clarke – for being an inspiration earlier this year when he attended the professional boxer’s 40th birthday party in Los Angeles.

He said: "I love this guy. I look up to him. Give it up for the champ."

Blac Chyna secures record deal

Blac Chyna has reportedly secured herself a record deal.

The ‘Rob and Chyna’ star – who shares eight-month-old daughter Dream Renée with her former fiancé Rob Kardashian – is said to have been snapped up by Universal’s Capitol Records and is relying on her showbiz pals like Drake and Nicki Minaj to help establish her music career.

A source said: "Chyna was offered a deal. A huge record deal. But you never take the first offer … All of her friends are going to help her out … Nicki has been very helpful as a mentor and Drake shouted her out 10 years ago on a record."

And there is hope Chyna might consider writing a song about her ex-partner.

The insider added to Radar Online: "Chyna hasn’t wrote a song about the Kardashians but she’s thinking about it. She could … She’s exploring all musical possibilities. She’s a poet and she’s been around the music industry for many, many years. She’s well versed."

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old star – who also has four-year-old son King Cairo with her ex-partner Tyga – previously revealed she has seen her "true strength" after her ex Rob shared intimate pictures of her online.

She said: "I feel like God does certain things not to hurt you, but to show you your true strength. I feel like, if I can come from this, I can come from anything …

"[When I saw the pictures,] I was, like, ‘No. I can’t believe it.’ I thought, ‘What’s he going to do now? What’s next?’ I didn’t need a crazy fan trying to come and hurt me or my kids because of this. The people that I actually care about, my family and friends, they’re all I worry about. I’m not going to sit here and hide in my house over somebody else being hurt or jealous or insecure."

Drake fan arrested after second break-in

A 24-year-old super-fan has broken into Drake’s home for a second time.

The young woman, nicknamed the "thirsty thief", after only helping herself to refreshments during her first break-in back in April, returned to his mansion this week while the star was away and told security she was "on the list".

TMZ reports that when the police were called, the woman started "spitting at three deputies before being blasted with pepper spray".

She was reportedly arrested for "trespassing and assault on a police officer".

Back in April, the woman was discovered in one of the home’s six bedrooms, wearing a sweater belonging to Drake.

She was charged with a felony burglary and taken into custody but Drake’s team intervened and asked for leniency.

Drake bought the Hidden Hills property for $7.7 million in 2012 and promptly named it the YOLO estate.

He previously explained: "I was like, ‘What are the world’s craziest residential pools?’ and when I searched online, this came up. This house was the desktop image on my computer years before I bought it.

"Originally, I had a sign outside that said the YOLO estate. But it got stolen three times, and it was getting a bit costly to replace it, so I just changed it to the street number. I love that some kid has that sign in his bedroom."

The property has a 25-seat theater, games room, spa, wine cellar and outdoor pool with an 80-foot waterslide.

DJ Khaled gets starstruck around Beyonce

DJ Khaled is always "starstruck" around Beyonce.

The ‘I’m the One’ hitmaker has collaborated with a number of high-profile artists, including Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper, but he claims gets "quiet and shy" whenever he meets the ‘Single Ladies’ singer – who has daughter Blue Ivy, five, and newborn twins Rumi and Sir with husband Jay-Z – because he’s so in awe of her.

Speaking to NME, the rapper, whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled, said: "I’m always starstruck around Beyonce. I have so much respect for her as a mother and as an artist.

"I watched her and Jay Z raise their beautiful daughter while on tour and still be a real family. I’m always quiet, shy and try not to do or say too much around her – because she’s the boss."

Ironically, the rapper has collaborated with the multi-award winning pop star on his newest album, ‘Grateful’ as well as teaming up with her husband Jay, Drake, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Calvin Harris and Bieber again.

Last October, the 41-year-old producer became a father to a son, Asahd – who he has with fiancee Nicole Tuck – and his birth inspired the title of his album because having a child has made him more "grateful" for life.

He said: "I’ve always been grateful for life, but now it’s something even more special.

"I thought I knew what love and joy was and then I met my son."

The ‘Wild Thoughts’ hitmaker also admitted his long-time friend Puff Daddy throws the most "extravagant" parties and he always knows he’ll have a good time with the rap mogul.

He said: "Puff Daddy is probably the most extravagant person who can throw a party besides myself.

"You know there’s gonna be good energy and he’s gonna go all-out.

"My advice for going to a Daddy party: stay fly at all times. Be fly and be great."

Vanessa Hudgens was ‘speechless’ when she met Celine Dion

Vanessa Hudgens says meeting her idol Celine Dion at the Billboard Music Awards this year was one of the best moments of her life.

The 28-year-old actress co-hosted this year’s music extravaganza, which took place in Las Vegas back in May, with Ludacris and although she was very nervous about helming proceedings she managed to compose herself to take control of the star-studded ceremony.

Vanessa – who stepped out with a freshly cut cropped hair do for the event – couldn’t believe she got to spend time with Celine and was even more shocked when after she praised her as a singer it was the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker who asked her for a photo.

The ‘High School Musical’ star was also amazed when she got complimented by Drake as he accepted the Top Billboard 200 Album prize for his LP ‘Views’.

In an interview on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’, she shared: "It was insane, I felt like I was in a dream the entire time. First of all Drake gave me a shout out and then I got to meet Celine Dion.

"I mean, she is the reason I started singing. I had her album and I would put it in my karaoke machine and get my microphone and sing along and belt out her songs almost every single day. I came in and I was kind of speechless and then I was like, ‘You are the reason why I sing’. She was like, ‘Oh, you’re so sweet, it’s so nice to meet you. Can we take a photograph?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah!’ Then she was like, ‘Oh merci beaucoup’. I was like, ‘I love you!’ It was so much fun, it was such an amazing experience."

Vanessa was also thrilled to discover that fellow pop legend Cher was going to be at the Billboard Music Awards too.

Although the screen beauty didn’t get to hang out with Cher, 71, she did get to watch her perform and get her groove on to her music.

She said: "Cher was there, she performed and I danced my face off!"

Justin Bieber: Drake is a ‘legend’

Justin Bieber has branded Drake as a "legend".

The 23-year-old musician took to Instagram on Monday (06.26.17) night to praise the ‘Hotline Bling’ singer for being a "culture shifter", and even branded the star as "the best" in his field right now.

Posting a professional photo of the 30-year-old singer on stage, Justin wrote: "More than a rapper, a culture shifter and legend.. best of our generation (sic)"

The kind message comes as the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker has been attempting to turn his life around in recent months after previously being known for getting himself into trouble.

Most recently, the star shared two mugshots from his 2014 arrest in Miami, Florida, on the photo sharing site as he vowed he will now stay on the right path as jail "is not a cool place to be".

The ‘Love Yourself’ singer captioned the Instagram post: "Mugshot #jailsnotacoolplacetobe, #notfun#neveragain (sic)"

Justin – who was just 19 at the time of his arrest – faced multiple charges when he was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license when he was caught drag racing in Miami Beach in a yellow Lamborghini three years ago.

It’s not the first time Justin has shared an old mugshot with his followers either, as in April he shared another snap from his 2014 arrest alongside a more recent picture.

He wrote at the time: "I LOVE THIS because it reminds me IM NOT EXACTLY WHERE I WANT TO BE BUT THANK GOD IM NOT WHERE I USED TO BE!! THE BEST IS YET TO COME DO YOU BELIEVE IT? (sic)."

Previously, it was claimed that Justin is on a "spiritual mission".

The singer is believed to have had "an epiphany", which led him to realise that he needs to reconnect with religion and nature, and during days off from his ‘Purpose’ world tour he was spotted meditating in parks and enjoying some solo strolls.

A source said: "He believes nature and religion – not concert venues and nightclubs – should become his life priorities."

Camila Cabello scoops gong at iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards

Camila Cabello received the Best New International Artist gong at the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday (06.18.17).

The 20-year-old star – who has gone solo after leaving Fifth Harmony in December 2016 – collected her prize at the annual Canadian awards show, where she also performed on stage.

Other big-name winners included Ed Sheeran, who was named Most Buzzworthy International Artist or Group, for his efforts over the last 12 months, while local star Drake was named Most Buzzworthy Canadian.

The rapper also claimed the iHeart Canadian Single of the Year award for his track ‘One Dance’, which featured Wizkid and Kyla.

Meanwhile, Niall Horan was named Fan Fave International Artist or Group, and he also performed on stage to the delight of his Canadian fans.

The event, which was hosted by Joe Jonas and Alessia Cara, also featured performances from the likes of Lorde and Imagine Dragons.
