Drake late to VMAs due to traffic

Drake couldn’t accept his trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (08.28.16) because he was stuck in traffic.

The 29-year-old rapper won the Best Hip Hop Video accolade for his song ‘Hotline Bling’ at Madison Square Garden in New York but was unable to collect his prize as he was held up.

His late arrival to the glamorous event meant the presenter Diddy – who he famously feuded with in the past – kept the silver and gold statue until he turned up later to receive it.

It seems Drake wasn’t having the best of luck at the ceremony as just after he presented his rumoured girlfriend Rihanna with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, he tripped over the 28-year-old beauty’s dress as they headed backstage.

The hunky star missed his step but tried to right himself before anyone noticed by leaping over Rihanna’s golden gown.

However, he seemingly stamped on her foot by accident as she let out a yelp before checking on the clumsy rapper.

Determined to make light of the embarrassing situation, which was caught on camera, Drake claimed: "I’m jumping!"

Meanwhile, just before his little blunder, the rapper appeared to be on cloud nine as he declared his love for Rihanna while presenting her with her prestigious award on stage.

He said before giving her the trophy: "She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her, even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry, ladies and gentleman, the recipient of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award for 2016, Rihanna."

Beyoncé wins 8 gongs at the Video Music Awards 2016

Beyoncé picked up eight gongs at this year’s Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York on Sunday (08.28.16) night.

The 34-year-old singer had all eyes on her at the ceremony at Madison Square Garden after her popular single ‘Formation’ nabbed six trophies, while her sixth studio album ‘Lemonade’ walked away with the Breakthrough Long Form Video.

The brunette beauty paid tribute to her four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and her husband Jay Z as she bounded on to the stage following her intense 16-minute performance to collect her glistening award for the Video of the Year.

‘Formation’ – taken from ‘Lemonade’ – then went on to win Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Pop Video, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography, while her second single ‘Hold Up’ from the new album got Best Female Video.

Beyoncé’s incredible win at this year’s ceremony makes her the most awarded artist in the event’s history after her career total of 24 now beats Madonna’s previous record of 20.

However, she wasn’t the only winner at Sunday’s awards as Calvin Harris – who recently split from Taylor Swift – swiped two gongs; the Best Male Video for his club hit ‘This Is What You Came For’ featuring Rihanna, and ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ with Disciples for Best Electronic Dance Video.

Fifth Harmony also managed to walk away with two prizes; the Song of the Summer for ‘All In My Head’ featuring Fetty Wap, while their hit ‘Work From Home’ with Ty Dolla Sign nabbed Best Collaboration.

Joe Jonas’ band DNCE walked away with the Best New Artist award, Drake got Best Hip Hop Video for ‘Hotline Bling’, Coldplay’s ‘Up&Up’ got Best Visual Effects, and twenty one pilots’ ‘Heathens’ managed to swipe Best Rock Video.

The late David Bowie – who tragically died in January at the age of 69 – got the Best Art Direction award for ‘Blackstar’, while Rihanna won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – also known as the Lifetime Achievement Award – which is dished out to artists who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture.

Rihanna’s 21k hotel room

Rhianna spent $21,000 a night on a hotel room.

The ‘Work’ singer wasn’t afraid to spare any expense to ensure her stay in Vienna, Austria – where she performed as part of her ‘Anti’ world tour on Wednesday (08.10.16) evening – was luxurious and splashed out the huge sum on the two-story Royal Penthouse Suite at the city’s Park Hyatt Hotel, TMZ reports.

The plush living quarters boasted three kitchens, four bathrooms and a private gym, as well as four terraces overlooking the city.

One thing Rihanna won’t have been doing in her suite is playing Pokemon Go.

The 28-year-old beauty recently warned her fans at a gig in France that she didn’t want them whipping out their phones to text their loved ones or play the smash-hit Nintendo smartphone game.

She told the audience: "I don’t want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends. I don’t want to see you catching any Pokemons up in this bitch."

Rihanna hasn’t been afraid to splash the cash during her world tour.

In May, she spent a reported $15,000 at strip club V Live in Houston, Texas, hours after performing at the city’s Toyota Center.

The Bajan beauty headed to the night spot with her opening act, 24-year-old hip hop star Travis Scott.

A video posted online appeared to show Rihanna with a handful of cash while standing next to a scantily-clad dancer.

But it wasn’t the first time the raven-haired stunner has splashed out big money in the V Live strip club.

In November 2013, the star and her on/off boyfriend Drake dropped $17,000 between them in the night spot after he had performed at the Toyota Center.

According to reports at the time, Drake, 29, splashed out $12,000 and Rihanna spent around $5,000 in the club, where they sat side-by-side and were said to have been very "touchy-feely".

Drake’s dad launches RnB career

Drake’s father is launching an R&B career.

Dennis Graham, who is in his 60s, is to follow in his son’s footsteps by releasing his first single, ‘Kinda Crazy’, later his month, and 29-year-old rapper is said to have given his seal of approval to the forthcoming track.

According to gossip website TMZ, Dennis worked with producer and Apple executive Jamie Iovine on the song and his upcoming album, which is yet to have a release date.

Drake knows Jamie well as he released the star’s fourth studio album ‘Views’ exclusively on the Apple Music streaming service earlier this year.

In a sneak preview from the music video, obtained by the publication, Dennis is seen sitting in a huge throne while dressed in a sharp white suit complete with bling and a brown beanie.

As he is perching on the seat, a blonde beauty dances to the music before he launches into the lyrics, which include: "It’s kinda crazy, but I feel you underneath my skin."

However, this is not Dennis’ first foray into the music business.

He previously worked as a drummer performing alongside country musician Jerry Lee Lewis.

What’s more, music legend Larry Graham is Dennis’ brother, making him Drake’s uncle.

Dennis used to take Drake to the famous Royal Studios, where the likes of Al Green recorded, when he was younger.

He previously said: "Appleville, which is Shelby Drive and Nealy, that’s where we always came to … I used to hold him in my office, while I played the piano … I told him, I said, ‘Drake, you got a beautiful voice.’ "

Jonah Hill: ‘Leonardo DiCaprio left me terrified’

Leonardo DiCaprio left Jonah Hill "scared s***less" when he pretended to be a crazed fan.

Jonah was standing outside a store in New York when the 41-year-old actor suddenly appeared in front of him, clicking away on his phone, prompting the ‘Super Bad’ star to visibly jump in surprise and Jonah admitted it left him terrified.

He told Entertainment Tonight: "It was funny! I was totally taken off guard. I was scared s**tless."

However, he quickly realized it was just Leonardo pranking him and the pair shared a huge hug as they laughed off the joke.

Meanwhile, that wasn’t the only recent case of mistaken identity for Johah, who admitted he confused Drake with his nutritionist.

The 32-year-old actor wanted to get in shape after gaining weight for his role in ‘War Dogs’, so he visited a dietary expert, who asked him to email him his food intake for the day, leading to an unfortunate mix up.

He recalled: "I was just like at home, and I was bored, I was like ‘Oh, I didn’t email this guy.’ So, I wrote down like yogurt, like salad, chicken, whatever, and I sent it to him.

"I was looking later, like an hour later, through my sent messages. He didn’t email back. He usually just says OK or something, and it must’ve been ‘D-R.’ because it was ‘Doctor’, and I’d sent it to Drake.

"So Drake – who I don’t know well at all – just got an email from me saying ‘Yogurt, salad, chicken’ and then just Jonah at the end of it.’ "

Jonah is so embarrassed by the confusion, he joked he will now have to avoid the rapper in the future.

He added: "He never wrote back. Never spoke to the guy. Another guy I’ve gotta duck for the rest of my life."

A source said: "Rihanna and Drake are hanging out a bit more lately. Rihanna loves Drake, but is still not ready to put a title on them."

The 28-year-old R&B superstar is in no rush to settle down and is taking each day as it comes despite the ‘One Dance’ star being besotted with her and wanting to make their relationship official.

The source told E! News: "Drake would make her his girlfriend in a second if he could. It’s more on Rihanna, though. They both care about each other and are having a good time spending time with each other. Drake has expressed to Rihanna that he only wants to date her and only her, but she wants to take day by day this time around."

However, the pair are believed to be completely loved-up and things are "progressing nicely" between them.

The insider added: "Things are great though and their connection is really strong. Things are progressing nicely."

Rihanna and Drake were first linked in 2009 and when he joined her on stage during her Manchester gig recently, he claimed she has been responsible for breaking his heart.

He said: "Shout out to the most beautiful, talented woman I’ve ever seen. She goes by the name of Rihanna … I’m getting my heart broken."

Meanwhile, Drake recently ended a brief fling with Hailey Baldwin, but he has always wanted to make things work with Rihanna.

A source said: "Hailey was a fling, but Drake has always wanted to make things work with Rihanna.

"They are still dating. Things get more serious when they’re in the same place."

"He gave me the number of these guys."

It seems Jonah is used to being mocked by his friends, as video footage has emerged of him being startled by Leonardo DiCaprio, with his ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ co-star pretending to be a fan who was taking pictures of him.

Kanye West grateful for Kim’s Snapchat

Kanye West is glad nobody can "talk s**t" about him any more.

The ‘Stronger’ hitmaker has recently been involved in a huge public spat with Taylor Swift over his controversial single ‘Famous’, after she claimed she didn’t give him permission to sing about her.

However, his wife Kim Kardashian West decided to leak a series of videos on Snapchat which featured the rapper on the phone to Taylor discussing the controversial lyrics and she appeared to give it the go-ahead.

And Kanye is so pleased Kim did that as he hates being lied about.

Speaking as he performed as a special guest at Drake’s Chicago concert, he told the audience: "I am so glad my wife has Snapchat. ‘Cause now y’all can know the truth. And can’t nobody talk s**t about Ye no more!"

He then went on to perform ‘Famous’ and put extra emphasis on the lyrics behind the fall-out – "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? Because I made that b**ch famous."

The lines were in reference to Kanye interrupting Taylor’s acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs in 2009.

Following the release of the Snapchat videos, when people accused her of lying, the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker has argued that Kanye never told her he’d call her a "bitch."

Since the very public war of words between the trio, various celebrities – including Ruby Rose, Chloe Grace Moretz, Selena Gomez, Khloe Kardashian and Katy Perry – have weighed in on the argument with their own opinions.

Drake treats himself to the ultimate bling trainers

Drake has celebrated his number one album by getting a pair of 24 karat gold Nike Air Jordans.

The 29-year-old rapper commissioned the bespoke trainers to be made a couple of months ago and the mega-bling kicks arrived a week ago, with the ‘Summer Sixteen’ hitmaker announced their arrival via his Instagram account.

Posting an image of the bespoke footwear on the social media site, Drake wrote: "#SolidGold #24K #TheseAreNotToWear (sic)"

The truly one-of-a-kind trainers are the work of artist Matthew Senna, and with the footwear weighing in at a massive 20lb they reportedly set Drake back $26,500.

Matthew has also been prolific on Instagram posted various different views of the Air Jordans and their fine details.

He posted alongside the pictures: "Jumpman! Jumpman! Jumpman! Jumpman! Jumpman! Jumpman! Details are everything. #studyOVO #sennamade … Float like a butterfly. #studyOVO#sennamade @cinco.studio (sic)"

Drakes song ‘One Dance,’ featuring Kyla and Wizkid, has been number one in several countries, including the US, Portugal, Canada, Australia and the UK – where it has spent 14 weeks in the top spot.
