Camila Cabello and stars support #MeToo on the BRITs red carpet

Stars including Camila Cabello, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa have shown their support for the #MeToo movement by holding white roses on the BRIT Awards red carpet.

Rita and Dua joined the likes of Camila Cabello, Ellie Goulding, former Girls Aloud singers Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle and Emma Bunton, and the show’s host Jack Whitehall in showing solidarity for the movement – which encourages people to come forward with sexual harassment allegations – whilst on the red carpet for the glitzy award ceremony in London on Wednesday (02.21.18).

‘Your Song’ hitmaker Rita, 27, dazzled in a flowing white gown which was completed by a tiered train and plenty of jewels in the form of bracelets, earrings, and a necklace. Her look was completed with the single white rose, which she carried on the red carpet in a direct nod to the #MeToo movement.

Dua – who has been nominated for a record-breaking five gongs at the ceremony – opted for a dress which was just as eye-catching, as she stunned in a dramatic tulle pink gown, completed one again by a single white rose.

Holly Willoughby, Myleene Klass, band of sisters Haim, Anne-Marie, and The Vamps also rocked white roses on the red carpet, whilst other stars including Hailey Baldwin and Troye Sivan opted for simple but effective white rose pins which they attached to their outfits.

Meanwhile, singer Paloma Faith carried multiple white roses with her as she made her entrance in a long sparkling silver number, and was spotted giving one flower to rock band Royal Blood, as she bemoaned the fact that many male attendees had not brought their own.

She told BBC News: "The only thing I’m upset about tonight is not more men carrying white roses. I think they should have. I put a white rose on one of [Royal Blood], which I think is really important. Because I think men should support.

"What I think is really important is that we’re speaking across the board for women because I have never met a woman who hasn’t experienced it in any profession."

Ed Sheeran, meanwhile, pinned the flower to his simple black suit.

He said: "I think it should have happened sooner, but I’m glad it is happening. It’s nice that people are aware of it now."

Hailey Baldwin fangirls over Courteney Cox at BRIT Awards

Hailey Baldwin was left completely star-struck when she walked the same red carpet as Courteney Cox at the BRIT Awards 2018.

The 21-year-old model is one of the presenters at the music prize-giving ceremony and although she attempted to keep her cool as she arrived at The O2 arena in London she was reduced to a massive fangirl when the ‘Friends’ star arrived because she watches Courteney, 53, as Monica Geller every day.

Speaking on the BRITS red carpet, Hailey spilled: "I have lots of girl crushes, like Courteney Cox just walked by me and I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s Monica!’ She is here, but she just walked straight in. I watch ‘Friends’ every day so it was a big deal. I love that she’s friends with Ed Sheeran."

Courteney became pals with Ed, 27, because the pop superstar has worked with her man, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid.

Hailey made sure she stood out in a black and royal blue mini dress which she teamed with a brave black lipstick.

And the catwalk beauty decided to go bold at the BRITs because she wanted to stand-out at the music extravaganza.

Hailey said: "I really went back and forth on my lip. I really don’t go that dark usually. I prefer natural makeup, although I might do a dark eye because I feel that’s easier to pull off, but it’s the BRITs! I had to do it. I’ve never been to the BRITs before, but in England this is your biggest event in music and it’s so cool."

Taylor Swift kept unreleased music secret on music video set

Taylor Swift wouldn’t let her dancers hear her unreleased music.

The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker was so desperate to keep the music from her new album ‘Reputation’ under wraps ahead of its release that the dancers on the set of the music video for ‘End Game’ just moved along to a click track rather than to the actual music.

Speaking behind the scenes during filming for her music video, Taylor said: "I commend them fully because they’ve been pretending like there’s music playing when there’s not. I have these [headphones] in my ears. They’ve been dancing to a click track. It’s incredibly hard work.

It is no surprise that Taylor went to extraordinary lengths to keep her music secret as her friend Ed Sheeran previously revealed Taylor’s unreleased music travels under lock and key.

He shared: "She would never send new songs, no. I hear them but has to be with her. I remember when I did a song with her for her album, I was in San Francisco and they sent someone with a locked briefcase with an iPad and one song on it and they flew San Francisco and played the song I’ve done with her and asked if I like it and I was like ‘yeah’ and they took it back, that’s how I hear it."

Meanwhile, Taylor’s collaborator Jack Antonoff previously revealed the pop superstar always puts her "heart and soul" into her music.

He said: "The sessions were just her and I. She would come over to my apartment, and we would talk and eat and talk more, and the things we talked about turned into songs. She is great at remembering the heart and soul of the process … But she’s really great at knowing what it’s about: talking about what the hell is going on in your life and somehow finding a way to take that exact emotion and make a song out of it. That was the theme of those sessions, ‘Let’s just tell this story, whatever that story is, because that’s the whole point.’"

Ed Sheeran’s weight worries

Ed Sheeran worried about his weight when he first found fame.

The ‘Shape of You’ singer admitted he used to have "zero insecurities" about his appearance but felt pressure to slim down after comparing himself unfavourably to the likes of Justin Bieber and the members of One Direction.

He admitted: "I was like, ‘They’re so photogenic and they’ve got six packs… and I should look like that.’

"But should I actually care if I’m fat or not? No-one’s bought my records based on me looking a certain way.

"I had zero insecurities before I became a singer – and I was born with ginger hair.

"I didn’t care. I’d have a beer belly, ginger hair, wouldn’t wash and wear scraggly clothes.

"But as soon as you become in the public eye and people start picking holes in you, you start thinking things are bad for you. Like, ‘Am I fat?’ "

And the 26-year-old singer admitted he has even tried fad diets to lose weight.

Speaking to fellow musician George Ezra on his new podcast, he recalled their first meeting in 2014 and said: "I was doing no carbohydrates and just drinking vodka and slim tonic."

But Ed drew the line at some extreme ways of losing weight.

He recalled: "I was hanging out with a model ages ago, and she used to dip cotton wool balls in diet Pepsi and that would be her meal for the day. That’s a bad diet tip."

And the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker now keeps his weight in check with a more attainable routine.

He explained: "Eat what you want and exercise every day".

In the early days of his career, Ed admitted he embraced every opportunity he could to get noticed because he knew hard work was the key to success.

He said: "My first album came out when Adele’s 21 came out… and I’m not better than Adele.

"But everyone at the record label was like, ‘James Blunt became massive because he worked harder than everyone else’.

"So I was like, ‘Get me his diary and we’ll do all of that times two’.

"I was doing all the things that other artists were thinking was uncool. I played on ‘Hollyoaks’!

"And funnily enough, when I met Paul McCartney, he said, ‘I saw you on ‘Hollyoaks”. Weird, innit?"

Taylor Swift played matchmaker for Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran got together with his fiancée at Taylor Swift’s house.

The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker – who announced his engagement to Cherry Seaborn earlier this year – has revealed his close pal played a part in his relationship as the couple got together during a Fourth of July party at her house.

Speaking to Ed behind-the-scenes of her ‘End Game’ music video, Taylor said: "I wanna talk about the Fourth of July line, because that makes me really happy."

To which Ed joked back: "My relationship started on the Fourth of July."

The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker quickly interrupted, asking him, "Whose house?," and he confessed that it was at Taylor’s house where the pair decided to give their romance a go.

And Ed revealed: "So the story was, I was at Taylor’s party and the girl I went to school with ended up being in Rhode Island."

Ed announced his engagement last month with a sweet message on Instagram.

He captioned a photo of him and Cherry: "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx (sic)"

Meanwhile, Ed previously revealed he was ready to settle down and start a family with Cherry.

He said: "This is my idea of happiness; living in the countryside, having a multitude of children always around me and my wife by my side. Writing songs every day and then going to pick up my kids at school … I’m ready [to be a dad], but then it’s not me who have to carry a baby in the belly for nine months, so it’s not just up to me."

Pink tells Grammy President ‘women don’t need to step up’

Pink has hit back at the Recording Academy President Neil Portnow following his comments that women in music need to "step up" if they want to win at the Grammy Awards.

Portnow made his comments following the criticism that male winners dominated the ceremony held at Madison Square Garden in new York City on Sunday night (01.28.18).

He was quoted as saying after the ceremony: "It has to begin with … women who have the creativity in their hearts and souls, who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive level. [They need] to step up because I think they would be welcome."

Pink, 38, was furious with Portnow for his alleged slight against all the female recording artists and women working in the music business and posted a handwritten letter on Twitter in response.

The letter read: "WOMEN IN MUSIC don’t need to ‘step up’. Women have been stepping since the beginning of time. Stepping up, and also stepping aside. Women OWNED music this year. They’ve been KILLING IT. And every year before this.

"When we celebrate and honor the talent and accomplishments of women, and how much women STEP UP every year, against all odds, we show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal, and what it looks like to be fair."

Only one woman, Alessia Cara, who was named Best New Artist, won a major award at the Grammys.

Pink – whose real name is Alecia Moore – performed ‘Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken’ at the ceremony but lost out on the Best Pop Solo Performance to Ed Sheeran, the only male artist nominated in the category.

Bruno Mars was the big winner at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, picking up six prizes including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for ’24k Magic’, and Song of the Year for ‘That’s What I Like’, as well as Best R&B Album, and Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Single for ‘That’s What I Like’.

In addition, his LP was also recognized as Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

Ed Sheeran slept through Grammy wins

Ed Sheeran was sleeping when he won his two Grammys.

The 26-year-old singer was chosen as the recipient of the Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Shape of You’ and Best Pop Vocal album for ‘Divide’ at the 60th Grammy Awards on Sunday night (01.28.18), but not only was Ed not at the prestigious event held at Madison Square Garden in New York City but he didn’t even watch the ceremony unfold because he was tucked up in bed.

Posting a photo of his cat on Instagram, he wrote: "Woke up to the news I won two grammys last night. Thank you! This little fluff-ball is doing a bit of a celebratory dance, lots of love to everyone xx. (sic)"

When Ed’s ‘Shape of You’ was announced as the winner of the Best Pop Solo Performance Grammy, he was booed by some audience members who are believed to have wanted Kesha to win for her single ‘Praying’ which was inspired by her fight to overcome sexual abuse.

The other nominated acts were Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga and Pink.

Kesha, 30, provided one of the performances of the night when she was joined on stage by the likes of Andra Day, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha, Cyndi Lauper and Julia Michaels for an emotional rendition of ‘Praying’.

Bruno Mars was the big winner at this year’s Grammy Awards after he picked up six prizes.

The 32-year-old singer took home the evening’s top prizes, Album of the Year and Record of the Year for ’24k Magic’, and Song of the Year for ‘That’s What I Like’, as well as Best R&B Album, and Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Single for ‘That’s What I Like’.

Ed Sheeran buys four homes

Ed Sheeran has bought four houses next door to each other.

The 26-year-old singer splashed out on a farmhouse and adjoining land in Suffolk, East England for £895,000 in June 2012, and at the same time, he bought a 16th century Grade II listed property next door for £450,000.

Land Registry records have also revealed he then bought a four-bedroom detatched house for £925, 000 in September 2016, and in October bought a bungalow on the other side of his main house’s driveway for £525,000, fuelling speculation he’s building a super-estate for himself and new fiancee Cherry Seaborn.

One local resident told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Ed is a super guy and really friendly. He is just a down to earth Suffolk boy at heart – so who can blame him for wanting to settle down here? It is a lovely part of the world.

"He has bought all the properties next door. I guess it means that there is nobody to complain if he plays his music too loudly."

The ‘Lego House’ hitmaker’s home already boasts a giant treehouse, a pod and a hot tub in his garden, as well as a covered swimming pool and a barn converted into a pub, complete with toilet facilities.

And Ed currently has builders working on an underground den beneath the grounds of his farmhouse, which will feature a music room and cinema.

The entertainment area will be accessed from a new extension of the main house by a six-foot wide tunnel, while another set of stairs will link it to his pub.

The ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker previously spoke about how having his own pub in the barn meant he knew he could relax when he had a party without worrying about his home getting damaged.

He revealed: "Yeah it’s getting there I’ve built a pub. Like I had a bar before, a bar where you could pour beers but now this has like a selection of beers which is cool.

"So basically there’s an underground tunnel to get there that you can close off. So if I have a party everyone goes in the pub and no one can get in the house so you get no one, raiding the cupboards or smashing anything. You have to go underground to get to the pub."
