Sir Elton John lashes out at Dolce and Gabbana

Sir Elton John has lashed out at Dolce and Gabbana after they branded children born through IVF ”synthetic.”

The 67-year-old singer – who has Zachary, three, and 23-month-old Elijah with his husband David Furness – took to his Instagram account today (03.15.15) to slam the designer duo for ”opposing” same-sex families and fertility treatment.

He wrote: ”How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ”synthetic”. And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children.

”Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana (sic).”

And Elton wasn’t the only celebrity saddened by Dolce and Gabanna’s comments as Ricky Martin – who become a father via gestational surrogacy in August 2008 to Matteo and Valentino – also took to his Twitter account to ask them to ”wake up” and stop spreading so much hate in this day and age.

Attaching a link to the interview, the 43-year-old singer wrote: ”ur voices R 2powerfull 2B spreading so much h8 http://bit.ly/1CiY63B Wake up,Its 2015 Luv urselves guys (sic).”

The Italian designers – who are both gay and were in a relationship with one another for 25 years until 2005 – have previously said they don’t agree with same-sex marriage but took it one step further this week when speaking to Italian magazine Panorama.

They are quoted as saying: ”We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one.

”No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Adele sends apology to Elton John

Adele sent a hand-written note to Sir Elton John to apologise for missing his wedding.

The 26-year-old singer penned the note from her, her partner Simon Konecki and their two-year-old son Angelo, to say sorry for not making it to the music legend’s marriage to longtime partner David Furnish yesterday (21.12.14) in Windsor, south east England, and to wish the couple good luck on their big day.

She wrote: ”Biggest congratulations my loves. Have a wonderful day. I’m sorry we are not there. See you in 2015. Love Adele, Simon and Angelo. x. (sic)”

Elton posted a picture of the letter – which Adele penned on headed note paper from floral designer Rob Van Helden, who also attended the nuptials – on his Instagram account alongside several other congratulatory cards sent to the couple.

He added the caption: ”The perfect end to the perfect day. So many kind thoughts and wishes. #ShareTheLove (sic)”

The image was one of 11 Elton posted on his newly-created social networking account on which he shared memorable pictures of his and David’s wedding day with their fans.

Other photographs included one of the pair’s wedding menu which featured wild mushroom soup with truffle cream to start, followed by a beef rib and caramelized onion pie and then a warm chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Elton also posted an adorable image of the couple’s sons’, Zachary, three, and 23-month-old Elijah, shiny, polished shoes in front of a roaring fire the night before the wedding, where they acted as ring bearers for their parents.

Elton John and David Furnish to marry in May

Sir Elton John and David Furnish will marry in a low-key ceremony in May.

The couple, who were one of the first to enter into a civil partnership in 2005, feel it is their ”duty” to get married after same-sex marriage was legalised in the UK on Saturday (03.29.14) and feel it would be appropriate to just have a small wedding with their sons Zachary, three, and Elijah, 14 months, and a ”couple” of friends.

David told the Las Vegas Review-Journal: ”We do like big parties. Over eight years ago, we had 650 people on the 21st of December at our house in Windsor [for our civil partnership].

”But with the kids, everything is different. I think what we’ll do is go to a registry office in England in May, and take the boys with us, and a couple of witnesses.”

The couple ”don’t feel” a marriage is necessary, but think taking the step will encourage other same-sex couples to do the same.

David continued: ”We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally. But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example.”

Talking about their civil ceremony over eight years ago, David said: ”I resigned myself to having a different life. I found it particularly difficult and challenging, because I came from a wonderful marriage; my parents are madly in love still. They’ve been married over 60 years.

”I wanted what they had. I came from a happy union, and I loved the associations I had from that. I felt very loved and encouraged.”

And now the couple are excited times have changed and their lives are so different to what they expected.

David added: ”We’re living in extraordinary times. My god, 20 years ago, when I started seeing Elton, if you asked me if I’d be able to get married, if I’d be able to have children, it was unthinkable, literally unimaginable.”

Elton John: Reality stars should be assassinated

Sir Elton John says reality TV stars should be assassinated.

The 66-year-old singer thinks these kinds of shows – which he has been a vocal critic of – attract ”nightmare people” who are just hungry for fame.

Speaking on BBC World satellite radio, Elton said: ”With reality television, you get all these nightmare people who want to be successful, when you really want them to be assassinated.”

The ‘Home Again’ hitmaker – whose 31st studio album ‘The Diving Board’ deals with issues surrounding entertainers finding fame young – thinks there are many talented individuals who end up spiraling out of control because they would ”do anything” for fame.

Quizzed on his new album, he said: ”It’s about someone who’s attracted to fame no matter what.

”They want fame whatever the consequences, and they’ll do anything to get there.”

He thinks ‘Mean Girls’ star Lindsay Lohan – who has been to rehab on a number of occasions to combat substance abuse problems, most recently she underwent 90-days of court ordered treatment at the Betty Ford Clinic and then the Cliffside Malibu centre – was a ”victim of success”.

He added: ”Lindsay Lohan, unfortunately, who had a great career as an actress and as a recording artist, she had a hit album…

”Suddenly, everything has fallen to bits because of the drugs. Her parents were a nightmare.

”She has become a victim of success and she wants success, no matter how much (it costs).”

Elton John ‘lucky to be alive’

Sir Elton John is "lucky to be alive" after he was struck down with appendicitis.

The ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker canceled his remaining summer concert dates yesterday (09.07.13) after falling ill with the condition, and has now revealed how he has been playing through agonizing pain and could have could have died "at any time".

He said: "I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time.

"I feel so lucky and so grateful to be alive. I played nine gigs and the White Tie and Tiara Summer Ball in agony."

The 66-year-old singer initially thought he had food poisoning but medical tests showed he had a potentially-fatal appendix abscess.

Elton was given drugs to reduce his inflamed appendix and antibiotics to lower the chances of him getting blood poisoning.

He is now resting at his home in Windsor, south east England, and will have surgery when the swelling has gone down.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Elton is over the worst but is still very sick. It’s been a horrible ordeal.

"He hates not being able to do gigs he was booked for. But there’s no way fans will blame him considering the ordeal he’s just been through."

Elton – who has two-year-old son, Zachary, and seven-month-old son, Elijah, with his husband David Furnish – has played 170 gigs in the past year and hopes to be back for his iTunes Festival and Bestival shows in September.

Matthew Morrison engaged to Renee Puente

Matthew Morrison is engaged to Renee Puente.

The 34-year-old actor’s close friends Sir Elton John and David Furnish announced the happy news on stage at their White Tie and Tiara Ball in London on Thursday (06.27.13), according to JustJared.

Matthew – who is best known for playing Will Schuester on ‘Glee’ – recently revealed he can’t wait to marry Renee but admitted they may wait a few years before starting a family.

Asked if he wants to marry the singer/songwriter, he said: "I hope so, then maybe working on kids. Who knows? I’ve always wanted to have children, but when the holidays are here and I’m around kids more, I’m like, do I really want a kid?

"It’s great to be able to enjoy them and then I’m like, okay, bye! Although when I’m 80 years old, I’m going to want kids and grandkids. That would be awesome."

Matthew also revealed he would much rather spend an evening rustling up a romantic meal in the kitchen with Renee than chatting to strangers at showbiz parties.

He said: "In a business sense, it’s important to be seen at some of [the parties] and speak with people you could work with in the future. But I’d much rather be at home with Renee.

"We love to cook, there’s something about preparing a meal where you get to enjoy your creations together."

Elton John welcomes second child

Sir Elton John has reportedly become a father for the second time.

The ‘Rocket Man’ singer and his husband David Furnish – who already have a two-year-old son, Zachary, together – are thought to have welcomed another child into the world via a surrogate.

According to the New York Post, the couple used the same California-based surrogate who gave birth to Zachary on Christmas Day 2010.

No further details about the birth or the baby have been revealed.

Last November, it was revealed Elton and David were expecting their second child but had decided never to reveal the identity of the surrogate.

A source said: "Elton and David love this lady like a sister and they feel indebted to her for life.

"Naturally she has been well rewarded. But her identity will never be revealed. They are over the moon."

Elton, 65, loves being a dad and has previously said he regretted waiting so long to have a child.

He said: "I think it changes everybody. It’s the most wonderful thing that you could possibly go through.

"I regret a little bit that I didn’t do it sooner, but he has changed our lives. Everything is about him now.

"He’s gorgeous, he travels brilliantly, he so loves people, and it makes our lives – he’s the icing on the cake.

"The first thing I do every morning is have breakfast with him. He shares my breakfast. Whatever I have, he wants."

Madonna ‘forgives’ Elton John for stripper comments

Madonna has "forgiven" Sir Elton John for calling her a "fairground stripper".

The 54-year-old singer dedicated her song ‘Masterpiece’ – which won a Golden Globe award earlier this year – to the British star while performing in the French city of Nice on Tuesday (21.07.12), saying the pair had to "start somewhere" to end their long-running feud.

She told the crowd: "I know he’s a big fan of it. And I know he’s a big fan of mine. And you know? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere."

There has been no love lost between the pair in recent months, with Elton initially furious after Madonna won the Golden Globe over his song ‘Hello Hello’ from his movie ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’, and his partner David Furnish branding her as "desperate".

Then recently Elton hit out at her recent MDNA tour, slamming her appearance and career choices.

He said: "Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger ****.

"If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like ‘Ray of Light’ and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.

"But no, she had to go and prove … she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper."

Elton John: ‘I’m happier than ever’

Sir Elton John is the "happiest" he has ever been.

The ‘I’m Still Standing’ singer – who has 20-month-old son Zachary with his long-term partner David Furnish – admits his 19-year-relationship with the Canadian filmmaker, his family life and his charity work have made him happier than at any time previously.

He said: "I work incredibly hard with my own career, my management company, the AIDS Foundation, my little boy. I’ve managed to intertwine everything perfectly. I’ve been with David 19 years in October, done a lot of work on myself, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.

"I’m not interested in the past – just now and the future."

Elton – who has battled drug problems and was once married to German recording engineer Renate Blauel before coming out as a homosexual man – also thinks the key to his longevity in the music business has been his ability to laugh at himself and his image.

He added to Radio Times magazine: "I don’t take myself too seriously, which is one reason I’ve lasted. Irreverence is a great British trait. As much as I moan about the press – they love you for nine months, hate you for four – it’s better than America, where they revere celebrity."
