Eva Mendes prioritizes her family life (with Ryan Gosling!)

The actress is a mother of two young children.

Life with young children is not necessarily a smooth ride, is it? That’s what actress Eva Mendes explains in an interview with PEOPLE magazine. The actress and mother of two young children explains that her house is often messy, and that she fully accepts this situation.

Many parents will surely recognize themselves in Mendes’ words; the actress admits that since she became a mother, her house is messier and that it’s okay. She is adamant that it is “impossible” to keep a perfectly tidy house and that you have to accept this situation while it lasts.

For the past few years, Mendes has been keeping a lower profile in Hollywood. She has chosen to focus on her children and her family life. She prefers to select the projects that interest her now rather than jumping into big film projects.

For her, her husband (Ryan Gosling!) and children represent “her home”.

We appreciate when stars like Mendes open up about their family life like this.

It helps normalize some of the situations that many parents face, like a messy house, or life at home.

Eva Longoria supports Serena Williams’ comments

Serena Williams announced that she wanted to leave the world of tennis recently in order to fulfill her wish to expand and take care of her family, mentioning that she would not have to do so if she were a man.

The best female tennis player of all time surprised some people when she told Vogue magazine that the clock was ticking and that she would retire after the U.S. Open.

Following this announcement, many voices were lined up behind her to denounce the lack of equity in terms of family responsibilities and the impact of these on women’s professional lives, including her good friend Eva Longoria, who agrees with Serena’s position, choice and words.

“If I were a man, I wouldn’t be writing this (…),” she pointed out to People.

“She’s absolutely right (…) she wouldn’t have to take years off. Years off to heal from a C-section,” Eva Longoria said.

The famous former Desperate Housewives star concluded her speech by mentioning that women think more about everything… except themselves!

“Mothers carry the weight of so much responsibility – not just for ourselves, for our children, for our mothers (…) we are mothers, we help the community, we help our co-workers, and so many other things (…) Being a mom (…) it usually means you think (…) outside of yourself. And that includes the planet,” Longoria concludes.
