Evander Kane reportedly battling multiple injuries

The Los Angeles Kings are on the ropes in their Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Edmonton Oilers following their 6-3 setback in Game 5 at Rogers Place Tuesday night.

And one Oilers player who has played a major role in his team’s success against the Kings, just as he did in their Round 1 series last season, is Evander Kane. Not only did he score in Tuesday’s Game 5, but he also tallied the game-tying goal late in Game 4, setting the stage for Zach Hyman to pot the overtime winner.

In fact, his 16 postseason goals the last two seasons are good for best in the entire NHL. The only problem with Kane right now is that he’s noticeably hurt. He’s already dealt with not only broken ribs this season, but also the frightening wrist laceration that kept him out of action for several months.

According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman in his latest “32 Thoughts” podcast, Kane is battling not one but various ailments.

“He’s got at least two injuries. He’s got I think a lower and an upper-body injury,” Friedman opined. “There’s something on his leg that’s bothering him, I think there’s something up higher that’s hurting him a little bit. He’s playing through a ton of stuff.”

Kane, who has played in all five playoffs games so far, has lit the lamp three times. He and the Oilers will look to punch their ticket to the second round of the postseason for the second straight year when they take on the Kings in Game 6 at Crypto.com Arena in downton Los Angeles tomorrow night.

Evander Kane gets Kings’ fan fired following hostile encounter in LA

You may have heard about the disturbing incident Edmonton forward Evander Kane brought to public attention after Game 4 in Los Angeles when he claimed that young Oilers fan named Cecily Eklund, who is battling brain cancer, was spit and sworn at when she attended the fourth contest of the first round series.

“There was a fight just two rows in front of Cecily, she was spit on, sworn at,” said her mother.

Kane took to social media to call out the fans that took part in the unacceptable incident and when he did so, the Oilers’ forward was insulted and abused. He shared screenshots of a vulgar direct message he says he received.

“Maybe you should be kind and not be such a f—–g scum bag,” the message stated. “We Kings fans literally hate you. You made us spit on kids for being a dirty mother f—-r. Listen to your own words and be kind. You f—-n scum bag.”

When digging, it was reported that the fan who posted the hateful message work at Mercedes-Benz of Escondido, a car dealership north of San Diego. Global News inquired with the company, which confirms an employee with the same name no longer works for the company.

The person’s Instagram account also seems to have been deleted.

What should be noted from this disturbing story is that no all fans are alike and some Kings’ faithfuls chose to support Cecily and her fight against cancer by posting Cecily’s Stollery donation page online and encouraged others to donate.

“Let’s show her what real Kings fan are like,” posted Twitter user ZachtheKingsFan.

By Tuesday afternoon, Cecily’s mother has noticed that Kings fans had donated more than $7,000 to her daughter’s donation page.

“Real Kings fans are rooting for you,” said a supporter that donated $25.

That’s the ending we wanted.

Evander Kane makes shocking allegation against a Kings fan

Controversial NHL forward Evander Kane has shown a knack for scoring clutch goals in the postseason since joining the Edmonton Oilers last season. He would come through in the clutch once again in Game 4 of their opening round Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Los Angeles Kings, tying the game at four late in the third period; Edmonton would go on to win in overtime and knot the series at two games apiece.

Earlier this season, Kane would befriend a young Oilers fan named Cecily Eklund who is battling brain cancer:

She was also a special guest of Kane’s for Game 3 of the series in Los Angeles. However, Kane has made a stunning allegation against a particular Kings fan, claiming that the young girl was subject to harassment and was even spat upon. He wrote on social media:

“simply_cecily_rose got to go on an amazing road trip to LA last week that created some incredibly fun memories. But some of her experience in LA specifically at Game 3 of the game was not. I’m disgusted and appalled at what happened to this amazing little girl in the stands and in a women’s restroom where she was harassed for wearing her jersey and was spit upon by an LA fan for doing so. This type of behavior is gross and completely unacceptable. For any young girl especially someone battling brain cancer to be treated in such a manner is pathetic. Grow up and as this smart young lady always says BE KIND!”

Kane would then show a particularly classless screenshot of a response from someone on Instagram:

If the allegation from Kane is true, then it absolutely was a classless and truly disgusting action from that particular fan. Harassing a young fan and spitting on them is unconscionable, and certainly not a representation of Kings and hockey fans as a whole.
