Rosamund Pike shoots Gone Girl sex scene 36 times

Rosamund Pike shot her ‘Gone Girl’ sex scene with Neil Patrick Harris 36 times.

The 35-year-old actress and the 41-year-old star – who played Amy Dunne and Desi Collings in the thriller movie – had 450 gallons of blood, 36 pairs of underwear and 36 sheets on hand as they filmed the violent footage, in which Rosamund’s character slit’s Neil’s alter-ego’s throat.

Director David Fincher told Vanity Fair magazine: ”I told them to rehearse it for three days, as we’re pumping five gallons of blood out of Desi’s throat.”

As well as spending hours just on one scene, Rosamund – who gave birth to her second child with long-term partner Robie Uniacke last month – believes she appears on screen more in ‘Gone Girl’ than the rest of her film career put together because of the movie’s big filming schedule.

She said: ”I spent more time in front of the camera on that film than in my entire career to date, because he’s [Fincher] shooting five to six hours of footage a day, and over a hundred days shooting -that mounts up.”

Despite spending a lot of time on the big screen last year, Rosamund likes to remain as private as possible about her personal life, rarely speaking about her partner Robie, but she does point out that one of his major qualities is that he is not fame-obsessed.

She added: ”The quality I most admire about him is he sees the value in anonymity.”

The full interview with Rosamund can be read in the February issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

Evan Rachel Wood slams Vanity Fair experience

Evan Rachel Wood was left feeling ”like meat” after her first Vanity Fair photoshoot.

The 27-year-old actress posed for the cover of the publication’s Young Hollywood issue alongside stars including Mandy Moore and Amanda Bynes in 2003 when she was just 15 and says the experience left her close to tears after having her identity ”erased” when they ignored her ”begging” to wear pants and flat shoes in favor of heels and a mini dress.

After a fan posted a picture of the starlets together from the shoot, Evan replied: ”I was almost in tears after this shoot. They tried that dress on me, I wasnt comfortable but they told me there was no time cause everyone else took up too much time with their fittings.

”Then I was given a choice on whether I wanted to wear flats or heels. I chose flats and was immediately handed heels and told they looked better.

”Then we were all lined up, stared at and approved. I was 15 and felt for the first time my identity being erased and the pressure to shut up and do what you are told. I felt like meat. Since then, I have found my voice. Never again. #neverforget (sic)”

Evan put her ”bullying” experience down to being ”inexperienced and shy” but has learned from how uncomfortable she felt that day.

She added: ”I think when you are young and inexperienced and shy you can be bullied more. I learned to say no.”

And the ‘Mildred Pierce’ star – who is believed to be dating actress Katherine Moennig and has a 14-month-old son with estranged husband Jamie Bell – hoped sharing her experience would encourage her fans to ”stay true” to themselves, insisting she wasn’t complaining about any of the ”privileges” of her job.

She added: ”To all the haters. I am not complaining about being on the cover of vanity fair.

”I understand I am very privileged and there are far worse thing to go through.

”My point was that things arent always what they seem. Especially in this industry. What may seem glamorous sometimes comes at a price.

”I only want to encourage other young girls to stay true to who they are. No matter what. Hold on to your self.(sic)”

Evan also insisted she bared no hard feelings towards the publication.

She wrote: ”Side note , I have shot the cover of ”vanity fair” since and had a much different experience. It was quite lovely.(sic)”

Jennifer Lawrence blasts diets

Jennifer Lawrence has risked upsetting Gwyneth Paltrow by describing gluten-free diets as ”the new cool eating disorder”.

Lawrence, 24, is currently dating Coldplay frontman and Paltrow’s ex Chris Martin, but has hit out at one of the things closet to the 42-year-old actress’ heart – gluten-free eating.

‘The Hunger Games’ star suggested the diet is a mere fad, telling Vanity Fair: ”[It’s] basically, ”I just don’t eat carbs.”’

Gwyneth, however, is a big advocate of gluten-free eating, explaining her dietary decisions in her book, ‘It’s All Good’.

She said: ”Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across … seems to concur that (gluten) is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it.

”Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we’re left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs.”

Earlier this week, it was claimed Paltrow wants to spend time getting to know Lawrence.

The actress is said to be keen to introduce her to her daughter Apple, 10, and eight-year-old son Moses.

An insider told Us Magazine: ”She’d like to spend a little time with her and thinks they’d probably get along.

”Gwyneth wants to be sure about her.”

Robert Downey Jr: My drug addiction was normal

Robert Downey Jr. says his drug addiction was ”perfectly normal”.

The ‘Iron Man’ star – who struggled with substance abuse in the past and was charged with the possession of cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin before being ordered to complete multiple stays in rehab – believes becoming ”obsessive” about something is simply a phase of life.

On the topic of battling his past demons, he told Vanity Fair magazine: ”For some folks it’s just a function of age.

”It’s perfectly normal for people to be obsessive about something for a period of time, then leave it alone.”

The 49-year-old actor – who also spent time in jail after breaking out of court-ordered rehab – finally recognizes the ways in which addicts can successfully tackle their issues, although he admitted he took a slightly different path to getting clean.

He explained: ”Job one is get out of that cave. A lot of people do get out but don’t change. So the thing is to get out and recognize the significance of that aggressive denial of your fate, come through the crucible forged into a stronger metal. Or whatever. But I don’t even know if that was my experience.

”It’s funny: five years ago, I would’ve made it sound like I’m conscious of my own participation in seizing the similarities. But so many things have become less certain. I swear to God. I am not my story.”

Robert was also quick to come to the defense of his son, Indio, who was arrested over the possession of cocaine in June.

The Oscar nominee alleges the 20 year old has inherited a ”predisposition” to addiction and believes the readily available information about his own struggle with drugs has only served to accelerate his spiral into substance use.

He said: ”He’s his mother’s son and my son, and he’s come up the chasm much quicker than we did.

”But that’s typical in the Information Age; things get accelerated. You’re confronted with histories and predispositions and influences and feelings and unspoken traumas or needs that weren’t met, and all of a sudden you’re three miles into the woods.

”Can you help someone get out of those woods? Yes, you can. By not getting lost looking for them.”

He added: ”Pick a dysfunction and it’s a family problem.”
