Pharrell Williams buys $7m Hollywood Hills home

Pharrell Williams has splashed $7.14 million on a Hollywood Hills home.

The ‘Happy’ singer – who is an 11-time Grammy-Award winning music artist, fashion designer and producer – snapped up the property towering over the Sunset Strip, a renowned area for music history, for almost $2 million less than the price tag, which was listed in July as $9 million.

The property listing read: ”Designed by internationally-renowned architect Hagy Belzberg, Skyline Residence is a rare example of world class architecture representing one of the most important pieces of contemporary architecture built in LA in the last decade. Published extensively and recipient of numerous architectural awards, this gated, modern compound has a 4 bedroom open-floor plan plus a 1 bedroom, detached guesthouse.

”Spectacular city views from every room with amazing infinity pool and outdoor theatre. Floor to ceiling glass windows throughout. Large lot on over 1.5 acres. This home is one of a kind – characterized by its distinctive single-folded plate roof.”

The ‘Marilyn Monroe’ singer – who has collaborated on a sustainable fashion line for African retailer Woolworths and is concerned with ”saving the planet” – will be able to take advantage of the eco-friendly design, created with locally-sourced building materials.

The 42-year-old star and his friends can enjoy watching movies from a big projector screen on top of the motor court. And swim in the infinity pool, which is the length of the property and enjoys views of Hollywood.

Variety have reported the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ singer also owns two houses in Florida and one in Virginia.

Leona Lewis Is Worried About New Album

The British singer, who captured fans around the globe with her debut album, Spirit, doesn’t think her sophomore album, Echo, will be as successful, reports FemaleFirst.

A source stated, "Leona knows she’s going to have to work harder with ‘Echo’ to equal, never mind better, the success of ‘Spirit.’ She wouldn’t want to be a one-album wonder. She’s been heavily involved in the making of this album and there’s a detailed plan in place to make it a success."

JLS and Alexandra Burke, who were also participants on the television reality show X Factor, are also making their entrance in the music industry, and Lewis is afraid they will take her place at the top.  The source added, "The problem is that when Leona first appeared, there was no one else like her. But things are very different now. She has some serious competition and it’s preoccupying her entirely. It’s as if she can’t think of anything else."

The first single from Echo, entitled Happy, will be released in November.
