Kevin Spacey stunned by character confusion

Kevin Spacey has to remind people he is not the US President.

The 55-year-old actor portrays scheming Head of State Frank Underwood in Netflix drama ‘House of Cards’ and is astonished that people seem to get his real life mixed up with that of his alter ego.

He said: ”Very often we get questions that [suggest] nobody has a clue we are actually paid to pretend we are other people.

”What planet do you live on where you can’t tell the difference anymore? Have we become so celebrity-obsessed that there is no longer a difference between a character and an actor? I hope not…

”People sometimes have to be reminded, I’m not Frank Underwood. I’m an actor named Kevin Spacey.”

And Kevin can’t understand why people believe there must be some aspects of Frank’s dark personality which are shared by him.

He told the New York Daily News newspaper: ”That’s a complete falsehood. That’s like saying in order to play Richard III, I have to have murdered people to get to where I am.”

However, he understands it can be hard to distinguish between the actor and the character if they undertake interviews and other appearances in the same costume they wear on screen.

Clad in a suit and tie – which is what Frank typically wears – he said: ”I never do interviews like that, because I think it is so important to protect the character you play.”

Kevin Spacey: I want kids

Kevin Spacey wants to be a father.

The 55-year-old actor – who doesn’t usually like to talk about his private life – is keen to have kids and believes he is still at an ”early” stage of his life to become a dad for the first time.

When asked if he relates to his ‘House of Cards’ character Frank Underwood and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) putting their careers before kids, Kevin replied: ”Er, no. I have wanted to have children. I do want to have children. It’s early.”

It is not known if Kevin is currently dating someone but one relationship he will always have is his love for London – where he has been artistic director at the Old Vic theater since 2014, but will be stepping down from the role later this year – as he admits he finds it impossible to saying anything negative about the city.

He explained: ”I think I’ll always be in both worlds [London and the theater]. I love it here. I’m so glad I did it.

”I love this country a great deal and there’s nothing I can say about it that would be negative.

”People thought I was f***ing out of my mind. Certainly in America they thought I was crazy. I don’t look so crazy now.”

But Kevin doesn’t share quite the same enthusiasm for watching shows such as ‘House of Cards’ back-to-back, admitting he is amazed that people manage to watch so many episodes of a program in one sitting.

He added to The Times newspaper: ”I’m not a binger. I don’t know how people do it. I hear people say that they stayed home all weekend and watched two seasons of the show: a) I don’t have time for it, and b) I’d fall asleep.”

Iggy Azalea blasted over moodiness

Iggy Azalea has been blasted for her moody behavior on the set of her new TV show.

The ‘Fancy’ hitmaker is the new host of MTV’s ‘House of Style’ and reportedly spent much of filming at the Versace store in Beverly Hills on August 9 with a ”complete scowl” on her face.

A source told the Hollywood Reporter: ”Iggy walked in with her entourage and wouldn’t take her sunglasses off the whole time we were in the store shooting her.

”She had a complete scowl the whole time and never cracked a smile — unless the cameras were on. And the minute they stopped, it was back to scowling.”

According to the source, even when the shoot moved outside the store to where fans had gathered, the 24-year-old rapper still refused to smile.

In contract, Iggy’s guest for the episode, ‘American Idol’ judge Jennifer Lopez, was a delight to work with.

The production crew member revealed: ”J.Lo was all smiles, saying hello to everyone on the crew, shaking everyone’s hand and doing everything we needed her to do.”

A spokesperson for the Australian star hasn’t commented on the claims.

Hugh Laurie’s House to end in April

Hugh Laurie’s ‘House’ will end in April.

In a joint announcement by producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs and Hugh, it was revealed the medical drama – which stars the British actor as the antagonistic Dr. Gregory House – will finish after its eighth season this year.

The statement said: "After much deliberation, the producers of ‘House’ M.D.’ have decided that this season of the show, the 8th, should be the last.

"By April this year they will have completed 177 episodes, which is about 175 more than anyone expected back in 2004.

"The decision to end the show now, or ever, is a painful one, as it risks putting asunder hundreds of close friendships that have developed over the last eight years – but also because the show itself has been a source of great pride to everyone involved.

"This sounds like fancy talk, but it really isn’t. ‘House’ has, in its time, intrigued audiences around the world in vast numbers, and has shown that there is a strong appetite for television drama that relies on more than prettiness or gun play."

The statement added the decision had been made to end the show while it was still popular with viewers, even though its viewership has dropped from a high of 20 million in series three to just under nine million for this season.

It read: "Since it began, ‘House’ has aspired to offer a coherent and satisfying world in which everlasting human questions of ethics and emotion, logic and truth, could be examined, played out, and occasionally answered.

"But now that time is drawing to a close. The producers have always imagined ‘House’ as an enigmatic creature; he should never be the last one to leave the party. How much better to disappear before the music stops, while there is still some promise and mystique in the air.

"So, finally, everyone at ‘House’ will bid farewell to the audience and to each other with more than a few tears, but also with a deep feeling of gratitude for the grand adventure they have been privileged to enjoy for the last eight years.

"If the show lives on somewhere, with somebody, as a fond memory, then that is a precious feat, of which we will always be proud."

The statement enigmatically ended with House’s catchphrase: "Everybody Lies".

Hugh, who makes $700,00 an episode, has been nominated for an Emmy award six times and won two Golden Globes for his role as Dr. House and celebrity guest stars have included Jennifer Grey, Carmen Electra, LL Cool J, Elle Fanning and Jeremy Renner.

Hugh Laurie Not Quitting House

Starpulse.com reports that Laurie is not about to quit his show due to health problems that developed from playing Dr. Gregory House.

Apparently, since his character walks with a limp and uses a cane, Laurie began to develop actual pains. There were rumours that the actor was ready to give up his job for the sake of his health.

"The show might last through to series seven, eight or nine but I don’t know if I will because I’m starting to lose my knees. It’s a lot of hip work. There are things going badly wrong," said Laurie.

On the contrary, the actor clarified that he is not yet ready to put down his stethoscope, following six seasons straight. His spokesperson reassured fans that Hugh Laurie will continue to play Dr. House, and added that reports about his hip issues were exaggerated.
