iPad case by Salvatore Ferragamo

It was recently announced that the Gucci and Louis Vuitton fashion houses decided to launch their own iPad case. Now it is Salvatore Ferragamo’s turn to follow the trend and offer a case for this Apple gadget.

Salvatore Ferragamo is launching a collection that features a choice of covers: one made of calf leather or another made of beige canvas and brown leather. The case is also available in three different colours, either in black, tangerine or green.

The structure of the cover is reinforced to ensure the iPad’s safety and protection. The inner lining is made of suede which prevents scratches. The house also has its logo subtly located outside the pouch.

The Salvatore Ferragamo iPad case is available exclusively in brand stores.

As for Gucci iPad cases, they have been available in stores since June 15.

Gucci dresses the iPad

Earlier this week, it was announced that Gucci launched new smartphone cases. Now the luxury fashion house has decided to expand and is introducing a new case for the iPad.

The Italian house follows in the footsteps of Louis Vuitton. They are the first two brands to offer a case to hold this new technological marvel by Apple.

Gucci’s iPad case was designed by its creative director, Frida Giannini. There are three different models, one in patterned canvas, one in neoprene and one in black leather. All are embossed with the brand’s monogram. Each has a flap closure which aims to limit the amount of pressure put on the iPad screen.

The inside of the case, meanwhile, is in suede, which is supposed to help keep the screen clean and, of course, protect it.

iPad cases by Gucci will be available in brand boutiques on June 15. The case can also be pre-ordered online at gucci.com.

Your iPad can help you control your fear of flying

Whether you have an iPod Touch, iPhone or the brand new iPad, there are now some applications available to help you overcome your stress and fear of flying.

These machines, which can only be opened at altitudes over 10,000 feet, can generally receive all sorts of applications. A company called Mental Workout did not miss the opportunity to develop one to help nervous passengers manage the sometimes overwhelming stress that strikes when flying high in the sky and passing through some turbulence.

The Flying Without Fear application, developed jointly with Virgin Airlines, offers a condensed version of the Fear of Flying course already available at Virgin. It uses video as well as audio and has a section of frequently asked questions which are geared to help you understand what happens in your head to cause the fright. There’s an explanation of what turbulence is and even what happens if both engines shut down. The application costs $4.99 and is sold on the Apple iTunes Store.

Another application that can help you with your fear of flying is Get Rid of Your Fear of Flying with Prof. McMurphy Subliminal Techniques. The application asks you simply to focus on the centre of your screen while it displays all kinds of images using techniques that combine the binaural and subliminal. The application has a free LITE version and another, more complete version that sells for $2.99.

Stay tuned as more and more applications are added to Apple’s online store.

Louis Vuitton iPad case

After making cases for the iPhone and the iPod, the LVMH luxury group decided to create one for the Apple’s new iPad.

British mag GQ exclusively introduced images of the new case by Louis Vuitton for Apple’s latest technological marvel.

This elegant case will be available in two designs, one featuring Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram design and another with the  monochrome Damier Graphite design.

GQ.com says the case: "is the first unveiled by a major designer for Steve Jobs’ all-conquering tablet. It lends the device the feel of a lightweight, ultra-portable attaché case – appropriate given that it is superseding your offline files and folders. It also gives your iPad some much-needed protection, because believe us, as much as you want an iPad, you will accidentally drop it at some point."

The iPad case by Louis Vuitton will only be available in stores in 2011 for a cost of 275 € or $363 US.
