iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max shipping dates slide to late October in Canada

If you’re in Canada and hoping to get your hands on an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max on the smartphones’ September 24th release date, you’re about to be disappointed.

Just a few hours following iPhone 13 series pre-orders went live in Canada, delivery dates for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max slipped to between October 19th and 26th. This seems to be the case for all Pro and Pro Max storage configurations as far as I’ve been able to tell, including the pricey 1TB option.

On the other hand, the and iPhone 13’s delivery date remains September 24th. The iPhone 13 mini is now also pushed back to October 5th to the 13th. That being said, if you live near an Apple Store you might still be able to get one for in-store pickup on September 24th.

To put it lightly, the iPhone 13 ordering process through Apple’s website has not been smooth for many people. For example, the new 24-month financing option supplied by Paybright has been down for most of the day, with eager iPhone 13 buyers unable to place orders.

Apple’s iPhone 13 is available on 24-month financing plans again

In a surprise move, Apple has brought back 24-month financing options for the iPhone just in time for the launch of iPhone 13 pre-orders.

When Apple revealed the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max on Tuesday, the tech giant also lowered all financing options for the iPhone to just 6 months. This resulted in substantial monthly payments across the board.

For example, the iPhone 13 Pro cost $233.16 per month on a six-month repayment plan, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max costs $258 on a six-month repayment plan. Now, however, Apple has reversed that change.

The iPhone 13 Pro now costs $58.29 per month for 24 months on a financing plan, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max costs $64.54 per month. All iPhone 13 financing plans also feature 0 percent APR. It’s important to note that the 0 percent APR offer will likely only be available for a limited time.

In fact, all iPhone models, including the iPhone 13 series, the iPhone 12 series and even the iPhone SE, have 24-month financing. Some reports indicate that Paybright’s system is either down or very slow due to an influx of people trying to buy the iPhone 13 series.

It’s unclear why Apple reversed this decision or why it even lowered financing plans to six months in the first place. Similar to Samsung’s various financing options, a 24-month repayment plan makes it much easier to circumvent purchasing the iPhone 13 through a carrier plan if you aren’t looking to buy the device outright.

Apple’s various iPad models, including the new iPad mini, are still locked to 6-month financing options. For more information on iPhone 13 series carrier availability, follow this link.

Apple’s iPhone 13 series is now available to pre-order in Canada

Apple’s iPhone 13 series, including the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, are now available for pre-order in Canada.

While the smartphone line is very similar to last year’s iPhone 12 family, the entire series features a smaller display notch, Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, a new video mode that allows for selective software-powered focus, battery life improvements and sensor shift camera technology.

The 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini and 6.1-inch iPhone 13 have specifically received upgrades to their wide and ultrawide cameras that should result in better quality images and improved low-light performance. This year’s base-level iPhone colours include the following: ‘Pink,’ ‘Blue,’ ‘Midnight,’ ‘Starlight’ and ‘Product Red.’

On the other hand, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max feature displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and, as usual, 2.5x and 2x optical zoom, respectively, through their telephoto lens.

This year’s Pro and Pro Max colours include ‘Graphite,’ ‘Gold,’ ‘Silver’ and the new aqua blue-like ‘Sierra Blue.’

Apple’s iPhone 13 line is set to be available on September 24th.

Are you interested in Apple’s iPhone 13 series lineup?

Apple has announced its 2021 lineup of smartphones, including the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max.

The devices are largely very similar to the iPhone 12 series, but there are a couple of new colours and features.

For example, while both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max measure in at the same size as last year, 6.1-inches and 6.7-inches, respectively, they now feature 120Hz refresh rate displays.

This year’s Pro and Pro Max colours include ‘Graphite,’ ‘Gold,’ ‘Silver,’ and the new aqua blue-like ‘Sierra Blue.’

Furthermore, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 look similar to their predecessors, including the squared-off sides, a visible notch on the display, and a sizable camera bump. Both smartphones also still come in at 5.4-inches and 6.1-inches, respectively.

Colours for the iPhone 13 include ‘Pink,’ ‘Blue,’ ‘Starlight,’ ‘Midnight’ and ‘(Product)Red.’

Additionally, Apple has added a ‘Cinematic Mode’ video mode that utilizes AI to recognize when a person enters the frame or when your subject is facing the camera and blurs and focuses the background accordingly.

Overall, unlike last year, the iPhone 13 series is a relatively expected update to Apple’s smartphone line. With that in mind are you planning to buy an iPhone 13?

Apple’s iPhone 13 features upgraded cameras, a smaller notch and more

After months of rumours, Apple has finally officially revealed the iPhone 13 series.

Overall, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 look very similar to their predecessors, including the squared-off sides, a visible display notch and sizable camera bump.

As expected, most of this year’s changes are under the hood. Apple says that the front the iPhone 13’s true-depth camera has been redesigned to be more secure, there’s a new, more powerful A15 Bionic chip and that the smartphones’ ultra wide-angle camera has been improved to reduce noise.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will also feature the sensor shift technology from last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Other new features include a new across the entire lineup include a portrait video mode that allows for selective software-powered focus.

Here’s what to expect from Apple’s September 14th iPhone 13 reveal event

Like clockwork, Apple’s first of possibly many fall hardware events is just around the corner on September 14th at 1pm ET/10am PT.

The company’s invite that prominently features the words “California Streaming” doesn’t reveal much regarding what we’ll see during the presentation beyond possible news related to Apple TV+ and Apple Music, but that hasn’t stopped leakers from churning the rumour mill.

While we’ll almost certainly see a mildly upgraded successor to the iPhone 12 that likely won’t actually be called the iPhone 13, a 3rd-gen pair of AirPods, and the first full redesign to Apple’s smartwatch with the Apple Watch Series 7, there are still several questions.

Will Apple also drop its often-rumoured MacBook Pro redesign, a new iPad and a refreshed iPad mini at its September 14th event? My guess is the tech giant is saving those devices for reveals in October and November, but in the pandemic era of tech reveals, anything is possible.

Below is everything we expect to see at Apple’s upcoming fall hardware event:

iPhone 13

Apple’s next iPhone — commonly referred to by bloggers, YouTubers and journalists alike as the iPhone 13 — is one of the few devices we know for certain will appear at the tech giant’s event.

First off, it’s unlikely the smartphone will actually be called the iPhone 13 given it’s expected to be a relatively minor upgrade to the iPhone 12. Will this year’s iPhone mark Apple’s return to the ‘s’ naming scheme and be called the iPhone 12s? Only time will tell.

Regarding new features, several leakers, including analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, YouTuber Jon Prosser and Max Weinbach state that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will feature an LTPO 120Hz display, a smaller notch and the same overall squared-off design as the iPhone 12 series.

Other rumours point to the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s DSLR-like sensor-shift technology making its way to the entire iPhone 13 lineup, overall larger batteries, stronger MagSafe technology and possibly– though I think this is unlikely — an in-display fingerprint sensor. Most reports point to the iPhone 13 series measuring in at the same size as the iPhone 12 series, including the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

On the camera side, rumours point to improved ultra-wide camera performance across the entire lineup, a new portrait video mode and possibly even an astrophotography feature. There are also rumours surrounding the ability to make emergency calls via a satellite connection when you’re in an area with no cellular coverage.

Apple Watch Series 7

Not to be outdone by the iPhone 13 series, the Apple Watch Series 7 is rumoured to include the most significant redesign to the smartwatch in several years. Instead of the usual curved sides, the Series 7 will reportedly include squared-off edges, moving its look more in-line with the iPhone 12, iPad Pro and iPad Air.

Along with the expected additional Watch Faces, new 41mm and 45mm sizes, and reduced bezels, Bloomberg’s often-reliable Mark Gurman says that both display resolutions have increased by 16 percent to 396 x 484 and 368 x 448 pixels, respectively.

While there’s been speculation surrounding the Series 7 potentially being delayed due to manufacturing issues, recent reports indicate it’s still set to arrive towards the end of September.

3rd-gen AirPods

Given the last AirPods refresh was way back in 2019, it makes sense that Apple is finally planning to release a new pair of its popular wireless earbuds.

The new AirPods are expected to look more like the AirPods Pro and possibly include an in-ear design. There will also likely be other improvements like better audio quality and longer battery life, according to PineLeaks, a Twitter account run by Max Weinbach.

Though unlikely given this would make the 3rd-gen AirPods identical to the AirPods Pro, some rumours are hinting that this refresh will include noise-cancellation and Spatial Audio.

New iPad, iPad Mini and MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro

We likely won’t see any of the above devices at this event, but anything could happen.

Apple’s new entry-level iPad will reportedly look nearly identical to its predecessor’s already outdated line, only slightly thinner. The only other rumoured upgrade for the iPad is a more powerful processor.

The refreshed 7.9-inch iPad Mini, on the other hand, will reportedly get the iPad Pro/iPad Air treatment and ditch the home button in favour of a fingerprint sensor on its side, along with reduced bezels and squared-off sides.

And finally, we have the MacBook Pro. While we likely won’t catch our first glimpse of the MacBook Pro’s fabled redesign until late October or November, rumours point to the new 14-inch and 16-inch version of the laptop featuring the first complete redesign since 2016.

According to Mark Gurman, rumoured features include the return of an HDMI port, MagSafe, and possibly even an SD card slot. Finally, the refreshed laptop will also reportedly include an upgraded version of Apple’s M1 chip possibly called the M1x.
