J.K. Rowling Sues Publisher

The author and Warner Bros., who produced the Harry Potter films, wants to stop RDR Books from publishing a 400-page book, reports FemaleFirst, based on the Harry Potter Lexicon website.  Rowling said, "I cannot approve of ‘companion books’ or ‘encyclopaedias’ that seek to pre-empt my definitive Potter reference book for their authors’ own personal gain."

The author previously commended the website for its exact information about the young wizard.  In 2004, she even gave fans of the website a special price on books.

However, Rowling insists that this book would infringe on her intellectual rights, and prevent her from writing her own Harry Potter encyclopedia.

JK Rowling Is Sad

Rowling recently shared her thoughts while being interviewed on the Today show on NBC, "I am sad. But I’ve been sadder. I need to be off … writing."

And the pressure’s off. And it’s not as though Harry’s gone-gone from my life, because he’ll always be in my life."
