Marvel’s Hit-Monkey [Star Original]

A wronged Japanese macaque is mentored by the ghost of an American assassin as he wages war against Tokyo’s criminal underworld.

Based on Daniel Way and Dalibor Talajić’s Marvel Comics character of the same name, Hit-Monkey was created by Will Speck and Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory) and features the voices of Ally Maki (Wrecked), Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Olivia Munn (The Newsroom), George Takei (Star Trek) and Fred Tatasciore (the Hulk in various Marvel animated titles).

Six months after the events of Season 2, Layton continues to search the globe for livable conditions while Wilford seeks vengeance.

Based on Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film of the same name and the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige (which the film also adapts), Snowpiercer stars Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Mickey Summer (Frances Ha), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) and Edmonton’s own Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead).

It’s worth noting that the show is filmed in Vancouver and Langley, B.C.

What’s new on Xbox Game Pass on console, PC and mobile in early January 2022

Every month, Xbox adds new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Typically, new games are rolled out in two waves, and now, Xbox has revealed January’s first batch of Game Pass catalogue additions.

Notably, BioWare Edmonton’s Mass Effect: Legendary Edition leads the early January Game Pass lineup.

  • Olija (Cloud, Console and PC) — January 4th
  • Embr (Cloud, Console and PC) — January 6th
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Console and PC) — January 6th
  • Outer Wilds (Cloud, Console and PC) — January 6th
  • Spelunky 2 (Console and PC) — January 13th
  • The Anacrusis (Game Preview) (Console and PC) — January 13th

Additionally, here’s what’s leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15th:

  • Desperados III (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Ghost of a Tale (PC)
  • Kingdom Hearts III (Console)

It’s also worth noting that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be removed from Game Pass on January 10th, but it’s then going free-to-play for everyone on January 12th.

Xbox Game Pass is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Android and iOS in beta. Game Pass for Console and PC Game Pass each cost $11.99 CAD/month.

Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $16.99/month and is required for streaming (which Xbox refers to as ‘Cloud’) to mobile devices and browsers. On top of that, this tier includes Game Pass for both Console and PC, as well as subscriptions to Xbox Live Gold and EA Play.

Here are the free games hitting PlayStation Plus in January 2022

Every month, Sony offers a few PlayStation games at no additional cost to those subscribed to its PlayStation Plus service.

Now, the company has revealed the first few games hitting the service in the new year.

Available starting January 4th, Sony will add three titles to PlayStation Plus, and you’ll have until January 3rd to download December’s PlayStation Plus games, which included the likes of Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, Mortal Shell, The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and Until They Fall.

January 4th will see Sony add action role-playing title Persona 5 Strikers for PS4, Codemasters’ simcade racing video game Dirt 5 for PS4 and PS5 along with Ghost Ship Games’ co-op first-person shooter Deep Rock Galactic, also for PS4 and PS5.

A PlayStation Plus subscription costs $69.99/year in Canada.
