Ben Stiller plays Kratos in weird God of War Ragnarök ad with John Travolta, LeBron James

Have you ever imagined what Ben Stiller would look like dressed as gaming icon Kratos?

Probably not, but someone at PlayStation clearly did. In a new ad for God of War Ragnarök titled “All Parents Can Relate,” Stiller is fully suited as Kratos, beard, Leviathan Axe and all, and even wants to be referred to as the God of War.

The premise of the ad is Stiller, fellow actor John Travolta and NBA star LeBron James getting together for a support group with their real-life children. It’s… as bizarre as you’d expect.

“The God of War dynamic plays out in every parent-child relationship. When that clicked for me, I picked up my Leviathan Axe and felt truly close to my son for the first time,” says Stiller at one point. When his son responds “I’m 17!” Stiller simply says, “Exactly.” Elsewhere in the bit, Travolta asks his daughter to hurt his feelings, to which she says “you’re old and you’re bald,” and he satisfyingly says “just like Kratos.”

Funny enough, less than 10 seconds of footage from the actual game are shown at the very end of the commercial. All in all, it’s quite strange, especially given the unique pairing of Stiller, Travolta and James.

In any case, God of War Ragnarök will release on PlayStation 4 and 5 on November 9th. Stay tuned for our review on November 3rd.

Seal thinks Demi Lovato is called Susan

Seal thought Demi Lovato was called Susan.

The 25-year-old singer met the ‘Kiss From a Rose’ hitmaker in a lift over the weekend and while she was introduced to him as Demi, he thought she had a completely different moniker and addressed her as Susan.

Demi recalled the event on Twitter, writing: "Today in an elevator..

Max: "Seal meet Demi Lovato, Demi Lovato meet Seal"

Seal: "Hi Susan" (sic)"

But Demi is not the only big star to have had her name mistaken by another celebrity.

In 2014, John Travolta accidentally introduced Idina Menzel as "Adele Dazeem" on a slightly bigger stage – that year’s Academy Awards.

The ‘Grease’ star later insisted he got her moniker wrong because the Oscars staff had changed her name to a phonetic spelling, and that he became "starstruck" by Goldie Hawn.

He explained: "The truth is, I was expected backstage and it was getting very close to the time I was supposed to go on and suddenly a page – an assistant to you – grabbed me and said, ‘You’re on in a minute.’

"I was like, ‘What happened to 15 minutes?’ and they didn’t explain. Later I found out my actual page got stuck in an elevator and couldn’t communicate to anybody so the back-up came to get me.

"As I get backstage I run into Goldie Hawn. She’s sexy, charismatic, beautiful and I was starstruck, hugging and loving her up, forgetting I had to do this bit.

"Then they were like, ‘OK you’re on,’ and then they said, ‘Oh by the way, we’ve changed Idina’s name to a phonetic spelling and I was like ‘Wait – what do you mean?’ ‘Go!’

"So I go out there and I get to her thing and I go ‘Huh?’ In my mind I’m going ‘What? What is that name? I don’t know that name’. And it was this phonetic spelling, and I didn’t rehearse it that way."

A year on, Idina got her revenge on John when she jokingly introduced him as "Glom Gazingo" at the 2015 Oscars.

Speaking to the audience at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater, she said: "Please welcome to the stage my very dear friend Glom Gazingo."

John Travolta’s character role play

John Travolta pretends to be his characters when at home with Kelly Preston.

The 62-year-old actor’s spouse "makes" him indulge in role play of his screen alter egos "all the time" when they are alone together.

Asked if she first saw John’s portrayal of lawyer Robert Shapiro in ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ on TV, Kelly said: "No I saw it at home. I would make him do it."

And when ‘Extra’ presenter Mario Lopez quipped they were doing "a little role-playing", she said: "All the time. I make him play all the characters. You kidding me?"

John – who has children Ella, 16, and Benjamin, six, with his 56-year-old wife – didn’t get to speak to Shapiro when working on the series, but was still able to undertake extensive preparations.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Golden Globe awards on Sunday (01.08.17), ahead of the show winning two prizes, John explained: "I watched all the video news, whatever was available — I just studied that. There were three different books, he was a part of each book. He also reminded me of other people I knew.

"So I could do a mixture of characteristics I thought was him, does that make sense?"

And the ‘Grease!’ star also took the time to remember the late Carrie Fisher – who died aged 60 last month – admitting he had always felt an affinity towards her.

He said: "Carrie and I kind of became famous around the same time. I was doing the movie ‘Carrie’ when she was doing ‘Star Wars,’ [‘Welcome Back Kotter’] was already on the air.

"I kind of felt like I grew up with her. We had similar eras of becoming discovered, so I feel like a bit of my history is gone."

Olivia Newton-John slams Grease 2

Olivia Newton-John didn’t like ‘Grease 2’.

The 68-year-old actress – who played the lead role opposite John Travolta in the 1978 original musical movie classic, but they both turned down the chance to appear in the 1982 sequel, which starred Michelle Pfeiffer.

And it seems Olivia has no regrets about passing on the project.

Asked what she thought of ‘Grease 2’, she admitted: "Not a lot.

"They did ask us, I think they approached John and I to do it, and then it didn’t happen, and I didn’t think it was gonna happen, and then they made it with other people."

However, when it came to the recent TV special ‘Grease Live!’ –

which saw Julianne Hough in her role of Sandy and Aaron Tveit as Danny – Olivia had more positive things to say.

Speaking on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, she said: "I liked it. Yeah, it was fun."

The singer-and-actress also shared her memories of making the original movie and how much "fun" she and her co-stars had.

She said: "It was like going back to a school that I never went to.

"We were all in our late 20s and 30s, but we felt like we were teenagers, so I think the whole thing was a lot of fun from beginning to end. We had a great energy."

Elsewhere on the show, Olivia admitted one of her "few regrets" was turning down the chance to tour with Frank Sinatra because she had just had a baby.

She said: "That would be one of my only, few regrets. I would have loved to have sung with him, that would’ve been amazing."

And she confessed to being terrified at the thought of working with Gene Kelly on ‘Xanadu’, but the experience turned out to be "amazing".

She said: "It was terrifying because I had never tap danced before, and the fact that I was going to be dancing with such an amazing, legendary dancer was kind of terrifying.

"But he was lovely. It was very special – I feel very grateful that I got to know him a little bit."

John Travolta flew to Emmy Awards

John Travolta flew himself to the Emmy Awards.

The 62-year-old actor attended Sunday’s (09.18.16) ceremony with his wife Kelly Preston and their 16-year-old daughter Ella Bleu and arrived in style as the qualified pilot used his private plane to get the family to Los Angeles.

And with his show ‘The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ – which he produced, as well as starred in as attorney Robert Shapiro – picking up 10 Emmys, John promised to take good care of his statuette on the flight home.

He said: "Oh, I’ll take it with me. I have to, ’cause you know, they’re rarified. How often do you take home an Emmy? I have two Oscar nominations, but they’re nominations. This time I get to take home an Emmy. It’s nice."

John also paid tribute to his late son Jett, who died after suffering a seizure in 2009 aged 16, as he thanked his loved ones for their support.

Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he said: "The biggest thanks has to go to Ryan Murphy, because he made this all possible. And my family: Kelly, Ella, Ben and then my little Jetty, I love you all so much."

And with his co-stars Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson, and Sterling K. Brown all honored for their roles on the show, John vowed to "stay up all night" celebrating with his castmates.

He said: "We promised each other we would have some drinks.

"We’re gonna stay up all night. I will report to you next time I see you if everyone kept to that promise."

But the actor was still stunned by how successful a night the show had had.

He said: "I don’t know if anyone can predict this level of success.

"I knew that we had the quality of communication going, and I knew it was going to be enlightening to people, but to predict 22 nominees and 10 wins – thank you – is unbelievable. I mean, this was a revelation."

John Travolta’s wife upset by flirting

John Travolta’s wife used to get upset when Kirstie Alley flirted with him.

The pair starred in ‘Look Who’s Talking’ together and Kirstie says they would have had a relationship if she hadn’t been married to Parker Stevenson at the time, and their friendship wasn’t welcomed by Kelly Preston when she first married John in 1991.

Speaking to US radio host Howard Stern, Kirstie said; ”We both wanted to [act on it], definitely.

”It took me years to not look at John as a romantic interest. Now, I’m best friends with his wife, and that took a while. Because in the beginning she would bust me, like, ‘Are you flirting with my husband?’ And the answer was yes.”

Kirstie added John is ”very gamey” and ”very handsome” but denied rumors he is secretly gay.

She added: ”I’ve known John for 20 years. I know him so well. I also know when I moved to Hollywood, I was told that a couple of people were gay, one of whom I was dating, and I knew that they weren’t gay … It became a way to dismiss actors.

”I have three friends that I’ve been told are gay. And they’re not gay. I know who’s gay. I know who’s bi. I know. You can’t not know something for that long about someone.”

Kirstie also pointed out how several lawsuits relating to allegations of sexual assault against John have been dropped, adding: ”When he says, ‘Ok, you’re not getting any money. Go ahead and sue.’ they drop the suit.”

John Travolta lawsuit dismissed

A lawsuit against John Travolta relating to an alleged assault has been dismissed.

Cruise ship worker Fabian Zanzi – who accused the actor of offering him a $12,000 bribe after he allegedly exposed himself during a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2009 – moved to end his legal action on Tuesday (05.02.13) after it entered a new and very expensive stage.

The 58-year-old ‘Savages’ star’s lawyer Marty Singer told RadarOnline.com: "My client and our firm are very pleased that Mr. Zanzi has agreed to dismiss the lawsuit."

A judge had previously ruled in the VIP worker’s favour by denying the actor’s attempt to resolve the lawsuit through arbitration but John’s legal team had a motion pending before the court that, if granted, would have required Fabian to put up $75,000 for a bond if the proceedings continued.

Fabian had previously claimed that John – who is married to Kelly Preston – asked for a meal to be delivered to his room, where he then asked Fabian for a neck massage.

He said the actor dropped his robe when he went to reach for his neck and forcefully embraced him, telling him he was "beautiful".

When he resisted, he claimed the actor offered him $12,000 to remain silent about the issue.

Fabian claimed he told management on board the cruise ship about the event but they refused to allow him to write out any details.

Kirstie Alley

Kirstie Alley claims she and the late Patrick Swayze were once "in love".

The 61-year-old actress – who called her former ‘Look Who’s Talking’ co-star John Travolta the greatest love of her life just days ago – claims she was also once "in love" with her ‘North and South’ co-star.

The former ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant told ‘Entertainment Tonight’ on Monday (05.11.12): "Both of us were married. We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad."

Kristie insisted she is good friends with Patrick’s wife of 34 years Lisa Niemi Swayze and was even asked to speak at his funeral after he died of pancreatic cancer in 2009.

The actress’s latest revelation comes just days after she admitted she fell head over heels in love with John Travolta on the set of their Christmas movie almost 25 years ago but couldn’t act on her feelings because she was married to actor Parker Stevenson at the time.

She said: "Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John. And be with John for the rest of my life. [He was the] greatest love of my life."

John, 58 – who is married to Kelly Preston – was single when they met and when Kirstie was asked why she didn’t leave her husband for her co-star, she insisted the institution of marriage was very important to her.
