Changes in the Cast for Dallas

According to Variety magazine, all of the actors chosen were canned except, John Travolta, 53. All of the production has been turned upside down, and filming has been delayed.

Gurinder Chadha is the director responsible for firing everyone with the exception of the star of Saturday Night Fever.  Chadha has not decided if she would like to continue the directing of this movie, but will decide once a new cast has been found.

Travolta will be playing the part of J.R. Ewing.  The part of Bobby Ewing was to be played by Luke Wilson, and that of Miss Ellie by Shirley MacLaine.  Finally, the part of Sue Ellen will no longer be played by Meg Ryan.

All of these changes occured because the movie was going way over budget.  The first estimated budget for the movie was $65 million dollars.  The new actors chosen will need to have lower salaries.

Shooting of Dallas should start by January 2007, and therefore, a new cast is to be found before that time.
