Justin Bieber records Jepsen collaboration?

Justin Bieber may release a song he recorded with protégé Carly Rae Jepsen.

The ‘Baby’ hitmaker signed Canadian star Carly up to his own record label recently, and she reveals they have worked on a recording together and hopes it will be released soon.

She told MTV News: "I think a collaboration with Justin Bieber isn’t out of the question considering we’ve already gotten together and worked on a little something.

"But for when that will come out, your guess is as good as mine, but hopefully soon. I like the song."

However, the 26-year-old star is unsure why Justin – who is keen to help other artists following his success with the help of Usher – picked her to work with out of everyone he could have.

She said: "I have no idea why Justin Bieber picked me out of everyone he could have picked, but I’m so glad he did.

"I’m learning just sort of this renewed feeling that dreams can come true and life can be amazing. It’s such a twist on my life."

Justin Bieber’s mum to pen memoir

Justin Bieber’s mother is to release her memoir.

Pattie Mallette has signed a deal for her book ‘Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom’ – which will tell of her experiences as a single parent in Ontario, Canada, where she raised the 18-year-old superstar.

Giving his blessing to the project, Justin will write the foreword in the novel while Pattie – who fell pregnant with her only child aged 18 – will reveal how she battled abuse and addiction in her childhood and teenage years before attempting suicide at 17.

Jennifer Leep, Editorial Director for publisher Revell, said in a statement: "Pattie’s story is a powerful example of courage and determination that will inspire anyone who has faced struggles in life."

Pattie, 37, now travels everywhere with her son, who says she doesn’t let him get away with things just because he is famous.

He told BBC Radio 1: "We argue yes, I think every parent and son argue, but I love my mom.

"The other day she cancelled my phone plan. We got into an argument about something stupid, and she was like, ‘Give me the phone’ and I was like, ‘No’, so she just went and cancelled it."

The book is scheduled for a September 18 release.

Justin Bieber planning low-key birthday

Justin Bieber isn’t planning anything "too crazy" for his birthday.

The ‘Never Say Never’ hitmaker – who is dating Selena Gomez – turned 18 today (01.03.12) but insists he won’t be indulging in any wild celebrations.

He said: "My birthday, I’m going to hang out with my friends and family, have a little get-together; nothing too crazy."

The Canadian singer was given an eco-friendly luxury Fisker Karma sportscar by his manager Scooter Braun during an appearance on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ last night (29.02.12) but he is most impressed by a different gift.

Asked what his best present was in a twitter chat with fans for MTV News, he said: "I got a pool table, a purple one and it’s amazing. That’s probably my favorite."

While he is happy with his gifts, Justin has asked fans who want to mark the occasion to donate to charity rather than send him something.

He tweeted: "i want to use my bday to help others. if u want please donate $18 to @charitywater on my 18th bday! (sic)"

Justin Bieber recording with Timberlake producer

Justin Bieber is recording with Justin Timberlake’s producer.

‘Baby’ singer Bieber has long been a fan of the elder singer turned actor, and is currently working with Timbaland, who was behind the latter’s biggest hits including ‘Cry me a River’ and ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around’.

Bieber tweeted last night: "in the studio with @timbaland and the crew. #creating (sic)."

Rapper Lil Wayne also dropped by and Bieber posted a picture of them skateboarding together.

Referring to Wayne by one of his nicknames, he later wrote: "Good time in the studio last night. back at it tonight. oh yeah…and big bro came and when i say big bro i mean @LilTunechi. #BELIEVE IT #family (sic)."

It is not known if Wayne will appear on Bieber’s album, as he previously said he didn’t want to work the 17-year-old at this stage in his career as he thinks he would "f**k his s**t up."

Bieber – who is set to call his third album ‘Believe’ – is also said to be in talks with Drake and Kanye West about appearing on the record, and has also worked with Black Eyed Peas main man will.i.am on tracks.

Justin Bieber working on transition album

Kuk Harrell, the longtime vocal producer of teen idol Justin Bieber, spoke to MTV News about the direction of the young singer’s next album. Harrell mentioned how the 17-year-old pop singer hopes to make a career transition similar to Justin Timberlake, who successfully made the move from teen idol to adult musician.

"The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up," said Harrell, who also worked with Rihanna on Talk That Talk. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.

"That’s why I think this Christmas album was really important because it gave everybody the opportunity to hear him, see him and get used to his voice changing," Harrell added. "That was a huge thing going into this album. We were able to get a running start on where he’s at vocally ’cause it’s a natural thing.”

Although few details are known about Bieber’s 2012 album titled Believe, lately he’s been very busy promoting his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe, and the music video debut of his All I Want for Christmas is You duet with Mariah Carey tomorrow (November 30).

Justin Bieber to sing for U.S. President

With his trademark line, “Never say never,” teen pop star Justin Bieber reminds his fans to never stop believing in their dreams.

So if someone had told him back in November 2008, when he was still an unknown, that one day he would sing for the President of the United States, he probably would have said, “You’re kidding, right?”

A year later, Bieber did exactly that when he was a guest of the White House in Washington. The pop star sang Christmas carols to President Barack Obama, his family and a select group of government officials .

Now he will return on December 11 to help celebrate Christmas 2011 in Washington.

In an interview with American radio station KISS FM, Bieber said, “His kids really like me, I’m doing Christmas in Washington and performing for him and the whole senate.”

The President has two young daughters, Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, who are most certainly huge fans of the 17-year-old pop star.

Since the release of his new holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, Bieber has plenty of material for his White House performance. A portion of the album’s proceeds are going to charity.

Justin Bieber films holiday TV special

Currently in England, teen pop sensation Justin Bieber filmed an ITV1 Christmas television special last Sunday, November 13 in support of his new holiday album Under the Mistletoe.

Bieber posted a Tweet about the program, “shooting this ITV Special for #UnderTheMistletoe here in London and u know I had to bring my guy @TinieTempah thru 4 a UK REMIX! #DrummerBoy.”

The London rapper Tinie Tempah will join him for a performance of Drummer Boy, a song the young artist originally recorded with Busta Rhymes on the holiday album.

Since the television special is for a British TV channel, the producers asked for an English star is included in the program. Tinie Tempah, one of the most popular rappers in England, was the logical choice. The duo recorded a remix of their song.

Tempah Tweeted later, “Just done something Incredible!”

Bieber has made no secret of his acting ambitions, having appeared on hit TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation earlier this year, and of course starring in his own hit concert movie Never Say Never and music videos. The YouTube star confirmed his plans to MTV: “Hopefully, next summer I can start on a movie or something. We’re working on the script right now.”

New Justin Bieber animated holiday music video

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber has just premiered a new video for Santa Claus is Coming to Town from his new Christmas album, reports Hit Fix.

The jazzy, R&B take on this Christmas classic is set to an animated music video that pays tribute to the stop motion animated holiday television classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, broadcast every year since 1964.

The song will be featured on the soundtrack of another animated movie, Arthur Christmas, due in theaters on November 23.

This is the second single, after Mistletoe, from Bieber’s debut holiday album Under the Mistletoe, which launched last week, on November 1, and has just entered the Billboard 200 chart at number 1.

True Beliebers who are disappointed not to see their idol in the flesh, can rest assured that another non-animated video is on its way.

Bieber, who recently formed Believe Charity Drive, announced that part of the sales from Under the Mistletoe will go to several charities.
