Justin Bieber covers Lil Wayne song as birthday present

Pop star Justin Bieber continues his exploration of the urban music scene with a new cover of Lil Wayne’s hit single, How to Love, reports Billboard.

The teen idol released the track over Twitter, in honor of Wayne’s 29th birthday on Tuesday (September 27): "trying to sleep. until then happy birthday @LilTunechi – #remix," wrote the pop star, providing a link to a YouTube recording.

For his remix, Bieber replaces Wayne’s auto-tuned vocals with his own melodious voice, leaving the music tracks untouched.

Wayne’s original version of the track peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released, and helped to propel Wayne’s new album, Tha Carter IV, to a highly successful debut, selling 964,000 copies in its first week alone.

Bieber, meanwhile, has been branching out into hip-hop, R&B and rap more frequently these days, recording a cover of Drake’s Trust Issues, and hitting the studio with legends like Chris Brown and Boyz II Men.
