Selena Gomez’s ‘positive influence’ on Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber’s mother thinks Selena Gomez has a "positive influence" on his life.

The ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker is "very close" to his mum Pattie Mallette and she is said to be delighted he has rekindled his relationship with his former on/off lover, partly because he has been "a lot more motivated" since they reconciled.

A source said: "She thinks she’s a positive influence in his life. Justin has been a lot more motivated since they’ve rekindled.

"Justin has a very close relationship with his mother and wouldn’t pursue a relationship with someone that his mom didn’t like."

Justin’s dad Jeremy Bieber is also said to approve of the 25-year-old singer-and-actress dating his son once again, and the ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker is said to be keen to prove "how far he has come" since his younger years.

Another source told E!: "His parents love Selena. That want him to date someone and think she is very sweet and a good girl

"They are happy with how Justin is doing and his focus. They support him going to church often and having his faith being such a big part of his life.

"They think that being back together with Selena is a positive thing. He wants to do things differently and make it right and show everyone how far he has come."

The 23-year-old star’s mother recently admitted she has a "special bond" with Selena.

She said: "I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her.

"I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious. I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them."

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd have sparked speculation they could be set to rekindle their romance.

The Victoria’s Secret model and the ‘Starboy’ singer – who dated briefly in 2015 – are said to be "totally in love" and are in constant contact.

A source told Us Weekly that Bella, 21, and The Weeknd, 27, "have been talking, texting and FaceTiming each other pretty consistently."

The insider added: "Bella really missed him. She’s happy with where things are and he is too. They are still totally in love."

The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – and Bella first met in April 2015 and officially became a couple a month later.

But their romance was short-lived as they split in December that year.

At the time a source close to the couple said: "They still have a great deal of love and respect for each other and will remain friends, but it has been too hard to coordinate their schedules. They really tried to make it work."

Bella was briefly linked to ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper Drake earlier this year, while The Weeknd dated Selena Gomez for 10 months until their split in October.

Selena was soon reported to be back in the arms of her on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, while The Weeknd was recently spotted holding hands with Justin’s ex Yovanna Ventura at a party.

The singer adopted a new puppy shortly after the split.

The Weeknd shared pictures of a beautiful male Doberman Pinscher on his Instagram account shortly after news broke that he and Selena were over.

Justin Bieber posts heartfelt message to dad

Justin Bieber has praised his father in a touching Instagram post.

The 23-year-old musician took to the photo sharing app on Tuesday (05.12.17) to post a heartfelt message to his father Jeremy, 42, as he said he would love him "forever and always".

The message read: "I love continuing to get to know my father I love working through hard things to get to the good things.. relationships are worth fighting for especially with family!! Love you forever and always daddy! (sic)"

It comes after the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker previously admitted to having ups and downs in his relationship with his dad, after Jeremy – who was just 18 when he became a father to Justin – left "for like a year" when the singer was four.

Justin claimed in a 2015 interview that his dad was "not in a place where he could raise a kid", but has made up for it since coming back into his life a year after walking out.

He said: "I remember my mom said, ‘If you’re going to be here, you have to be here.’ There’s a misconception that he’s this deadbeat dad, but he has been in my life since. I was with him on weekends and Wednesdays."

Whilst things may be going from strength to strength in Justin’s family life, it was recently reported that his girlfriend and fellow musician Selena Gomez – whom he recently rekindled his romance with after enjoying a five-year on/off romance from 2010 to 2015 – was having a hard time convincing her family that their reunion is a good thing.

Selena – who ended her relationship with The Weeknd before reconnecting with Justin – was reportedly considering bringing the ‘Love Yourself’ singer home to Texas for Thanksgiving last month, but the pair decided it was best for them to spend the holiday season with their own families.

A source said: "They both spent Thanksgiving with their families. Justin went to Canada and Selena was in Texas. They are still doing really well together, but they agreed it was best for them to be with their families for the holiday.

"Selena felt it was too soon for Justin to come to Texas with her. Her family is still getting comfortable with the idea of them back together."

Selena Gomez has made her Instagram account private.

The 25-year-old singer has shocked fans this week as she’s made the move to close her profile on the photo sharing app to everyone who isn’t already following her account.

Selena – who is believed to have rekindled her relationship with her on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber – gave her followers no reason for her decision to stop new fans from following her account, but the move is undoubtedly strange as the ‘Fetish’ singer is currently the most followed person on the image sharing site.

Those who are not yet following the star will have to request permission to follow her account, which Selena herself will have to approve before they are able to see her posts.

The move comes just one week after the ‘Bad Liar’ hitmaker was named as the most followed person on Instagram for the second year running, with more than 130 million accounts showing an interest in what the blonde beauty has to say.

It was also recently announced that Selena holds five of the 10 most liked photos on the site for 2017, including her announcement that she had undergone a kidney transplant, and a snap of her with her now ex-boyfriend The Weeknd.

In 2016, Selena was crowned the most followed person on the site for the first time, after she garnered a whopping 103 million followers, and occupied eight of the top 10 most liked photo spots, including the number one position, which was a photo of the star drinking from a bottle of Coca-Cola with the lyrics to her song ‘Me & The Rhythm’ written on it as part of an advertising campaign.

These images will still be accessible to the 130 million people who follow the star, but any new fans will have to wait until she either accepts their follow requests, or makes her account visible to all once again.

The 34-year-old model thought she and the ‘La La Land’ actress had become "best buds" after she spent a whole day interviewing her – but when they had a chance encounter soon afterwards, the Oscar-winning star didn’t recognise her.

Speaking on Sean Evans’ YouTube series ‘Hot Ones’, she said: "I interviewed Emma Stone for my job, it wasn’t like we were hanging out, which is the story.

"So I interviewed her and we went to this Museum of Curiosity in Brooklyn where you can dissect mice and learn about the Titanic, lots of different mysteries.

"She’s amazing. So I thought we were literally best buds by the end of the day.

"And then I saw her another time and I was like ‘Hi, hi’, and she was like ‘Hi’. [ with a glazed look on her face]. But not even an Oscar-winning actress can fake knowing me. I was like ‘F**k’."

Alexa has revealed she also met with mega stars before they became famous and had to remind Justin Bieber not to act "cool" around her, because she had known the 23-year-old singer when he was first starting his career.

She explained: "The other thing was on my MTV show [‘It’s On with Alexa Chung’] we used to have Bieber on as a recurring guest because he wasn’t a big deal yet. Bieber was on the verge of tilting into being [famous].

" We used to call him Hug Boy because whenever I used to see him he used to give me a side hug, and we were like ‘Urgh it’s that kid’. That’s crazy.

"Then years later I was interviewing him on the Golden Globes red carpet, and he was being too cool for me and I was like ‘Excuse me Hug Boy, I think you’re being a little too cool for me, we used to be buddies.’ He was like ‘Oh sorry’. "

Selena Gomez: No-one cares about my love life

Selena Gomez doesn’t believe anybody "actually cares" about her romance with Justin Bieber.

The 25-year-old musician has recently rekindled her romance with the ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker after having previously been in a tumultuous on/off relationship with him from 2010 to 2015, and although the new relationship has garnered a lot of interest, Selena doesn’t think anyone is actually interested in her love life.

Speaking to Billboard after she was named their Woman of the Year for 2017, she said: "I mean I don’t think anybody truly, actually cares. I think for me what’s been great is that I’ve been able to live the life that I’ve wanted for myself. And that doesn’t always look the way people maybe think it should look, but it’s not really my concern anymore."

Previously, during her cover interview for the company’s magazine, Selena – who recently ended her relationship with fellow singer The Weeknd – admitted she had decided to let 23-year-old Justin back into her life as she had never stopped "caring" for the star.

She said: "I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away."

It comes as the ‘Fetish’ singer’s family are said to be "still getting comfortable" with their rekindled romance.

The 25-year-old singer recently called time on her romance with the fellow musician – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – but has revealed there’s no love lost between the pair as they still maintain a "true friendship" and "genuinely care" for one another.

She said: "Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship [between me and The Weeknd]. I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me."

The ‘Fetish’ hitmaker has since rekindled her relationship with former flame Justin Bieber – whom she had an on/off relationship with from 2010 to 2015 – and admits she chose to get back in touch with the 23-year-old star because she still "cherishes" him.

The 27-year-old singer recently split from Selena after 10 months of dating, and he has now decided to remove any trace of his ex-girlfriend from his page on the photo-sharing website.

The Canadian star previously had a number of sweet snaps of Selena on his page, including one dating back to April this year in which she is seen clutching his face and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

By contrast, Selena – who recently rekindled her romance with Justin Bieber – still has a series of pictures featuring her ex on her own Instagram page.

Among the pictures still appearing on Selena’s Instagram is one of her first red carpet appearance alongside The Weeknd at the Met Gala in May.

The Weeknd’s decision to remove Selena from his Instagram account came shortly after it was reported that her family are "still getting comfortable" with the idea of her reuniting with Justin.

Selena and the ‘Sorry’ musician recently decided to give their relationship another try, having ended their five-year on/off romance in 2015.

Drake and Bella Hadid are said to be "no longer talking" after ending their brief romance.

The 31-year-old rapper and the 21-year-old model were said to have started "casually dating" in October – around a year after she split from The Weeknd – but he has reportedly called time on their short fling by ceasing communication with her.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Things ended over text when he basically ghosted her."

Drake and Bella’s short-lived romance was recently said to have caused friction between the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker and fellow musician The Weeknd.

An insider said: "They both hang in the same Toronto crew and now they’re having to pick sides. The Weeknd performed and people on Drake’s side were like, ‘I can’t show up to that … Got to have allegiance.’

"They aren’t getting along right now … The groups are beefing because [Drake] broke the bro code. They 100 per cent hooked up."

Speculation the pair had hooked up increased in October when Drake attended Bella’s 21st birthday in New York City.

The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – dated Bella for nearly two years until their split and then got together with Selena Gomez, but the pair recently went their separate ways, too, after she was romantically linked with her ex Justin Bieber.

Justin’s ex Yovanna Ventura and The Weeknd have now sparked speculation they are an item after they were spotted holding hands at French Montana’s birthday party.

A source recently said: "The Weeknd was there hand in hand with Yovanna Ventura all night.

"They arrived together. They were holding hands. He was there for a solid two hours with her and everywhere they went they held hands."

Katy Perry and The Weeknd have sparked rumors that they’re dating.

The ‘Fireworks’ hitmaker, 33, and the ‘Starboy’ singer, 27, set tongues wagging earlier this week when they were spotted arriving at the Italian restaurant Madeo in West Hollywood, California, in separate cars before joining one another at a table inside the eatery at around 9pm and tucking into some delicious food.

The pair – who were also seen enjoying each other’s company at the Delilah club in California earlier this month – reportedly spent three hours at the restaurant before leaving around midnight in separate vehicles, according to Glamour magazine.

Their low-key dinner date comes just weeks after The Weeknd – whose full name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – split from Selena Gomez following 10 months of dating.

It’s been claimed the now-former couple’s busy work schedules had been wreaking havoc for their love life and they mutually decided to part ways for the time being.

A source said at the time: "She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them."

But just days after their split was confirmed, the 25-year-old singer was seen locking lips with her on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber

A source said recently: "[They are] exclusive.

"They’re really happy and enjoying this time together. They’ve both grown a lot over the years and are excited to have reconnected. Justin definitely had to prove himself to her friends to regain their trust and he’s doing a good job. Her friends have come around and can see that this time is different."
