Justin Bieber donates album proceeds to charity

With his new My Worlds Acoustic album launching today (November 26), young Canadian pop phenomenon, Justin Bieber, 16, announced that he will be donating a portion of the proceeds from album sales to children’s hospitals across North America.

By partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network, a share of album profits will be distributed to 170 children’s hospitals across North America. Bieber’s announcement provides a substantial boost in public awareness, helping the charity kick off its new fundraising campaign.

He explains, "I am in the position to give back thanks to my fans and God. I wrote Pray (song) thinking I wanted to help others and I feel like I have a responsibility to do so.

"What is the point of doing all this if you can’t make a difference in others’ lives? This album is a gift to my fans and the money raised from it allows us all to help out."

This week, the singer also revealed he has joined the It Gets Better Project, by recording a video message for the anti-bullying campaign. In the clip, he tells bullies it’s "not cool" to pick on people, and encourages those being bullied to seek help.

Justin Bieber offers sneak peek of 3D biopic

The winner of four American Music Awards last Sunday (November 21) is offering his U.S. fans the chance to attend an advance screening of his 3D biopic, Never Say Never, on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, two days before general U.S. release.

Presented in a selection of theatres equipped with specific 3D technology, Never Say Never is a mixture of concert performances and ‘popumentary,’ recounting the young Canadian singer’s passage from obscurity to international celebrity in the space of one year.

"Everyone thinks this is going to be another 3D concert movie, but it’s anything but that. It’s a story of how my family, friends and the fans helped me get here and everyday are helping me live an impossible dream. That’s why I want them to see it first," said Justin Bieber.

Tickets for the February “sneak preview” event, will go on sale exclusively online on Monday, November 29. The $30 purchase price includes sneak preview movie ticket, 3D Bieber glasses, souvenir VIP lanyard, glow stick and bracelet, with a limit of six tickets per purchase.

Ironically, in the list of release dates on the movie’s preview website, the singer’s homeland, Canada, is noticeably absent. Perhaps his Canadian fans will let him know how important it is to include them, too.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D biopic opens in the U.S. February 11, 2011.

Justin Bieber plans to silence critics

Justin Bieber, 16, frankly admits that one of the reasons he is so motivated about his acoustic album, My Acoustic Worlds, is to prove his many detractors that he can indeed sing.

As he signed copies of his short biography, he told MTV News: “I really think that I did an acoustic album because there’s a lot of haters out there that say, ‘Justin Bieber can’t sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned (voice correction software).”

A new online video of the singer will allow fans to see it for themselves. The acoustic track of Never Say Never, a song that he performed along with Jaden Smith for the soundtrack to The Karate Kid, will be featured.

“I think kind of stripping it down and having it kind of really mellow and being able to hear my voice is why I wanted to do it,” said Bieber.

The album My Acoustic Worlds will be in stores November 23, 2010.

Justin Bieber launches fragrance without bottle

Following in the fragrant footsteps of many pop stars, young Canadian singer Justin Bieber, 16, is launching his very own fragrance, but has chosen to do it in his own unique and youthful way.

Instead of traditional bottled fragrance, the teen pop singer is offering scent-infused wristbands and dog tags for the unisex scent called My World.

Perfume meets fashion in this whole new product category. Teaming up with Etoile Nation Beauty, the patented resin technology is designed to hold the scent for at least one year.

“This Justin Bieber juggernaut is never going to end. Justin is a total grassroots phenomenon. The resin delivers the scent in a way that is every bit as good as a juice,” said Etoile president, Michael Ferrara.

Bieber’s My World fragrance will be available at Walmart on November 26.

The hardworking young artist launches his third album, an acoustic version of songs from his first two albums, on November 23, plus his 3-D bio-pic is due out in February 2011.

This month, fans of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga were probably glued to YouTube’s view counter to see which of their favourite artists would reach the magical one billion views mark. Until now, no other artist, personality or clip had yet managed this feat.

Although Lady Gaga, 24, has an impressive collection of videos and was favoured to reach one billion first, Bieber has managed to keep up with only a few videos to his credit, and is predicted to take the lead shortly.

Bieber, 16, holds the record for the single most watched video with Baby, viewed on YouTube by 365 million people. Bieber fans can get more of face time by checking out the online trailer of his upcoming 3-D bio-pic due to be released in February.
